Thanks, worked for me. Was about to take mine in for repair but discovered that the mirror was just detached from the backing plate, only the top section was still attached and was holding it on. Just glued it back on and the shaking has stopped, this has been annoying me since I bought the car in November!
I replaced my scirocco one last year after the wing mirror casing got smashed, it's been wobbling like crazy ever since, I thought it was where I didn't push it back properly. No wonder I couldn't get it to push back. Glue! Cheers guys
Thanks boss, and its pretty easy just be gentle with mirror not to break it, i was lucky in this instance but i tried my cousins bmw 1 series and the mirror broke haha, but then again that one was very stuck on there
How long is the double sided tape expected to last? Compared with if you glued it? I used double sided tape but ive seen some people glue. A full mirror with the complete plastic backing plate is about £10 from ebay, or just the glass is £5 so they arent too expensive to replace, especially if the glass is broken.
Oh i tested out the heated mirror it still works fine, it does take longer to heat up by maybe like 2 or 3 minutes longer than usual, but thats about it, does pretty damn good job still even thought the 3m is on there, also wont need a full new wing mirror just replace the glass if needed which is like $20
my car's left wing mirror was hit by a trolley in the car park. ever since then it made weird noises when retracting and the angle would be off. I have adjust it every time. Any ideas?
This is a good short term fix. But the low air pressure while driving the car will again pull the mirror out in some time because of the gap between the backside and mirror due to double side tape thickness. Better solution would be glue it strongly without leaving any gap. But thanks for the video :)
The Asian dood is good with talking and info which makes for a good interesting video 👍🇬🇧🎯

What glue did you use please
Just use some strong superglue
@@MrWaheedulHaque how would you apply it on the glass. Like the placement of it
@@jonathans5725 do lines all the way along, and do like a line around the edge of the mirror running all the way along in a circle
Thanks - worked for me - seemed even easier to remove on my car

Thanks gents.
As a recommendation, I'd go with thermal adhesive tape instead if you use the mirror heater, to make sure it doesn't unstick the glue.

You guys are good humor. Thanks for the video. How difficult the repair ? “8, .9 1/2.

Possibly

Usually will last around 6 to 8 years
Ebay ones don't heat as well as OEM
will the heated mirror melt the glue?
Maybe over 10 years but won't affect much as the heated mirror doesn't get very hot, this car is 11 year old now so not too bad

@@star999nine yes just slower than usual so next time if i do this repair i will use glue instead so it not affect heating

Probably broken clip on the mirror
@@MrWaheedulHaque Thanks for replying. How do I fix this? Will the mirror fall out if it's a broken clip?
@@sara.cbc92 you can check it by taking it out, but check if its wobbling or anything if not should be ok

I would wipe it clean with alcohol and then apply adhesive and heat it with a heat gun before pushing the mirror on it
Yeah
Thanks for this, my R side mirror shakes pretty bad on the highway.
