Highly entertaining and informative. Thank you. Though it is strange you chose to omit or overlook Neil Young’s masterpiece from 1975: Tonight’s The Night. To quote the 1990 edition of the Rolling Stone Album Guide: ‘A Towering Achievement’.
Hi, my top ten 1975 albums: 10) Peter and the Wolf (various artists)/ 9) Voyage of the acolyte/ 8) Radio-Activity/ 7)Ommadawn/ 6) Another green world/ 5) Spartacus/ 4) Timewind (Klaus Schulze) / 3) Ricochet/ 2) Rubycon/ 1) Fish out of water. Greetings from Brazil.
I am wondering about the upcoming AP release of Katie Lied. I had the OG Canada release which on my college system sounded fine. I replaced that with a mint German pressing. It was even better and it is still with me. The 1999 CD release that is purported to have fixed the DBX issue sounds OK but it is not vinyl. So I am waiting to hear if the effort to release this again on vinyl with all SQ issues resolved is worth it. It may be moot for me however. With the CDN dollar taking a beating in the American market, I would probably get the SACD when it is released. It will still not be vinyl but like a lot of things we experience, ignorance can be bliss.
@@jimbrock1441 Twice you said "But it's not vinyl"....So why are you bothering with CD's. This appears as condescension to those of us who DO buy CD's. Buy the vinyl and stop complaining or just don't mention it. Full disclosure; my timing with buying vinyl/CD's couldn't have been worse. I started buying vinyl, loved it but CD's arrived 10 years later. I had no real choice to switch. I replaced most of my LP's with CD;s then added thousands of others. When vinyl arrived again it was too late for me to turn back. I do know vinyl sounds better and I'm mad that I was in the position in history that I was in. I can never replace my CD's with vinyl now, not at my age. So I get angry when I hear this, it's like rubbing it in.
@ The site is called VINYL in Perspective. The condescension started with you calling me out for "bitching". I'm sorry that things didn't go your way but I'm taking my ball and going home. I was just chronicling my journey on Katie Lied after all the blather about the recording being compromised..
I'll say that Breakfast was a total fail (This was, as typical when record companies focus more on the masses than the style). Crime and Crisis are masterpieces...
Rod Stewart, One of The Greatest Singers and Performers ever I think. Awesome Video!!!

Then buy the vinyl for God's sake and stop bitching...Jeez...
@@Benji306 Apparently the meaning of "perspective" is lost on you.
