The Who by Numbers is the last great Who lp in my opinion.
Agreed
I'll say that Breakfast was a total fail (This was, as typical when record companies focus more on the masses than the style). Crime and Crisis are masterpieces...
What a great year for music. Physical Graffiti also turns 50.
Absolutely!
Highly entertaining and informative. Thank you. Though it is strange you chose to omit or overlook Neil Young’s masterpiece from 1975: Tonight’s The Night. To quote the 1990 edition of the Rolling Stone Album Guide: ‘A Towering Achievement’.
No, just picked ten. Not the best ten.
Very good, inspired me play my old copy of "Wish You Were Here" needs a clean though 😞
The late 70s french pressings sounds great and can be had for little money
I am wondering about the upcoming AP release of Katie Lied. I had the OG Canada release which on my college system sounded fine. I replaced that with a mint German pressing. It was even better and it is still with me. The 1999 CD release that is purported to have fixed the DBX issue sounds OK but it is not vinyl. So I am waiting to hear if the effort to release this again on vinyl with all SQ issues resolved is worth it. It may be moot for me however. With the CDN dollar taking a beating in the American market, I would probably get the SACD when it is released. It will still not be vinyl but like a lot of things we experience, ignorance can be bliss.
Then buy the vinyl for God's sake and stop bitching...Jeez...
@@Benji306 Apparently the meaning of "perspective" is lost on you.
@@jimbrock1441 Twice you said "But it's not vinyl"....So why are you bothering with CD's. This appears as condescension to those of us who DO buy CD's. Buy the vinyl and stop complaining or just don't mention it. Full disclosure; my timing with buying vinyl/CD's couldn't have been worse. I started buying vinyl, loved it but CD's arrived 10 years later. I had no real choice to switch. I replaced most of my LP's with CD;s then added thousands of others. When vinyl arrived again it was too late for me to turn back. I do know vinyl sounds better and I'm mad that I was in the position in history that I was in. I can never replace my CD's with vinyl now, not at my age. So I get angry when I hear this, it's like rubbing it in.
@ The site is called VINYL in Perspective. The condescension started with you calling me out for "bitching". I'm sorry that things didn't go your way but I'm taking my ball and going home. I was just chronicling my journey on Katie Lied after all the blather about the recording being compromised..
Great video mate,I get most of my albums from pawn shops here in the states 👍
Well done!

Hi, my top ten 1975 albums: 10) Peter and the Wolf (various artists)/ 9) Voyage of the acolyte/ 8) Radio-Activity/ 7)Ommadawn/ 6) Another green world/ 5) Spartacus/ 4) Timewind (Klaus Schulze) / 3) Ricochet/ 2) Rubycon/ 1) Fish out of water. Greetings from Brazil.
Great selection!
Happy New year Fella im still waiting for your stones special .. can you tell me wich version of Their Satanic Majesties Request i should buy ? greets from germany
Hallo. The Stones are a world of their own. Uk Decca pressings are reputed to be the best
Recently in a "listening session" at a friends house (like old days when there was a new important record release), i had the opportunity to listen to a german copy of Wishbone Ash - Argus". As there was an UK copy alson we compared and we liked more the german one. Wasn`t able to check if it was a 1st. pressing or what else, but sounded really great.
Hello Vicente, really enjoy watching your channel and very much looking forward to your new finds for 2025. Have a wonderful and prosperous New Year!!
Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoy it!
I own the nimbus uk cd ,and black triangle they will be sold soon the analogue productions hybrid sacd is absolutely stunning the loud sections don't kill your ears compared to the cds versions I love that the vocals are not so grating on the hybrid sacd very nice low end very detailed
Yes , the original uk cd nimbus is great
Great collection.. have a great new year . Look forward to many more videos on this channel

Hello Vicente, thanks once again for this interesting video. I like your friendly approach, and I'll follow your fully reliable advices. That said, I wish you an happy new year, full of great lovely music. Warm regards. Luigi -from Italy
Thanks for your following, Luigi Happy New Year
Thanks for pointing out these nice pressings. Do you listen to any music that wasn't made 60yrs ago though?
I listen to many kinds of music and from different eras. But most modern music from digital sources or streaming. Modern vinyl reissues leave to be desired. Happy New Year
An excellent “Best Of” selection for 2024. I shall search assiduously for Floyd’s Meddle and both Genesis albums in 2025. Thank you.
You won't regret it!
always great work vincente!! you are a great help for the v.c community! thanks
You rock, Vicente. Me encantan tus vídeos
Me encantó el de los temptations y yo tb te habría recomendado el Heartbreaker de Free
Great video. Many of these albums I have already. The Analogue Production Genesis´ albums sound great and my UK first pressing of Pink Floyd´s The Wall is probably the best sounding album in my collection. Was very interested to hear your feedback on ´Seconds Out´. I don´t usually rate the Abbey Road Half speed mastering process as being anyway special , so it was interesting to hear what you said with regards to this album. Will look out for an additional copy of this if it is on for a good price.
Yes, Abbey Road half-speeds are certainly not my cup of tea. But, I took the plunge after reading so many high praises and they were right. This one sounds phenomenal
One brown mouse was great from heavy horses. Its on a compilation with early original members 😊❤
The whole Heavy Horses is excellent to me
Anderson almost lost an eye on Storm watch when someone threw something. And Ian had a net put uo in front of the stage to finish the tour. Great show 😊
Yes, an underrated album I think
Without exception I always enjoy your content. Wishing you a wonderful and fruitful New Year. All the best from Clive in Oz 🦘🦘🦘
Thanks Clive, Happy New Year
Free's "Heartbreaker" is a superb album.
Absolutely. I play it almost once every month
You are a definitive audiophile. You may not put a big focus on audio equipment, but you do very much focus on the vinyl "hardware". The fact that people hear things differently doesn't really factor in. I am not an audiophile and don't really have patience for audiophile reviews - too much talk about the ice cream scoop and not enough about the ice cream itself. However, I do subscribe here because you are talking about the music artifact and not the turntable it's on.
Thanks for the info. I'm considering Genesis purchases. Happy new year. Look forward to your videos next year.
Thanks for your interest
Always nice to hear you, have a good 2025 year
Same to you
Enjoyable video... Happy New Year!
Thanks, mate
Thanks once again V. for a great album presentation, and have Happy New Year, 2025 w.Jan from Finland
Happy new year, Jan
Thank you again, Vicente. When I watch you videos, I feel I am not such an odd-ball for being into this hobby. I get blank stares from everyone I know if i start to talk about record collecting or hi-fi equipment! I also bought several of the Analogue Productions LPs you discuss and agree. Messaged you about how good nursery crime is and I’m glad you Like it. And on the subject of Dutch pressings, I bought the first Dutch pressing of Focus Moving Waves and it might be the best sounding record I own. I also bought an early Dutch pressing of Meddle. It is probably my best sounding Pink Floyd album. Anyway, happy new year! I look forward to seeing more of your videos and hearing your experiences in 2025!
Thanks a lot for your interest. Odd-ball? Let the people fall for streaming services and compressed sound. Vinyl would be cheaper then!

Hi. Is nursery the half speed 45 rpm? Can you tell me more about the two different versions of the hawker? I have two copies of Tommy the first UK numbered and another uk repress 1973 that sounds good to me too. Thanks.
No, NC rpm is Analogue Productions. There are two different versions of the Hawker. There is an octave difference between them."You talk about your woman I wish you could see mine" are sung an octave higher on the A1. Check youtube to listen to the two different versions.
@obre9523 thanks .I found some information on the Hoffman website 😁 they talk also about two different mixes for smash the mirror.
crap
Truth be told, knowing how a vinyl repress is likely to sound on the hi-fi you own, is, well, unknowable! I watched a short documentary recently in which it was claimed the knowledge and expertise of those working in record industry pressing plants in the sixties and seventies was lost forever with the advent of the digital age.
I've got three different equipments.
George Benson is always overlooked.
Interesting choices, I really enjoyed the video. Also, you definitely should have mentioned "Something In The Air" when discussing Thunderclap Newman!
My copy of Asenseur on Sam records is perfect and sounds great. I think you unluckily got a dud copy.
I'm sure someone mentioned this already but I was told by someone in the engineering industry that modern vinyl records and re-issues are engineered for small suitcase record players and earbuds. And this is why we do not get the full spectrum. How unfortunate
Thanks for the recommendation I've just found a Dutch pressing of Night Lights. Happy Christmas.
An admirable selection, though a little surprised by the choice of Genesis’ Trespass as your personal favourite of 1970. The omission of the Velvet Underground’s Loaded and the Stooges’ Funhouse, raised a few eyebrows in my house.
Hi Vicente - just taken delivery of Trick Atlantic 75. First impressions not good. Looking forward to hearing what you think. I also agree with one your other followers comments regarding Peter’s vocals on Nursery - regressed somewhat and I felt the dynamic range was inconsistent especially on Fountain.
Wow... just thinking... Starcastle, Brain Salad, Rundgren's Utopia, Kansas,, PFM stuff... so much... P.S. KC Court and another were released in the '69['s. Peace on earth.
A thoroughly engrossing video, thank you very much. It is a pleasure to hear views regarding favourite releases from a given period expressed so succinctly and so honestly.
good selection!!!
Jolly good show, me mate.
Hello from Germany, most of the albums are here too and I have to say that Al Stewart hasn't been played for a long time. I didn't know Thunderclap Newmann, but I like it. I have 5 Spooky Tooth albums, 4 of which I like, the Pierre Henry - Ceremony is too much for me. Thanks for the introduction, I'll subscribe.
The first three Santana albums are pure gold,as well as Amigos and Marathon.
