    The most I have ever benched is 455lb for 5 and way back in the day 500lb in a single ply. I am just here thinking about how 400lb feels. Now I did do a partial squat with 1000lb in training for the 2005 gpc worlds where I won overall best teen. It’s basically 20 years later and I still remember how that felt. Now I am combining those two feelings all into my arms! 💀 Amazing strength!!!!

    Jimmy is one of the nicest people and is genuinely an all-round great guy. Back in 2020 I ran a lifting podcast and Jimmy agreed to come on the podcast, even though it wasnt popular at all and I had nothing to offer him. Still one of my favorite lifters I got to speak with!

    I still remember Ryan Kennelly hitting 800 and thinking I have to get into Powerlifting and followed the sport through all the other big benchers and 3 lift lifters both raw and equipped and this was a pleasure to watch. I still lift now though not to compete and will sub right now.

    I've got no personal interest in doing geared PL, and especially not unlimited PL. HOWEVER, I feel like I can listen to Jimmy talk about PL all day!

    Can't even wrap my brain around some of these numbers. "Warming up" with 600lbs for reps 😮

    I remember years ago seeing the cover of some magazine blasting a 1000lbs bench press and I was like, well there goes my dreams of ever competing lol, I didn’t understand equipment etc

    Does anyone else see equiped powerlifting as a silly cult?
    I don't think equiped lifters are able to see it like I do. They all seem to take it so serious. It reminds me of being forced to call a women "he". Its just so delusional and silly to me. I really blame Louie Simmons and Westside Barbells for all of this nonsence. Louie would always say "my gym has more world record holders then any other gym in the world, and it was true. Its because all of the record holders were equiped lifters. Single ply bench, 2 ply champ, 3 ply, 4 ply etc... Its really dumb. I mean, Louie was a smart business man for doing it, but it created a bunch of delusional people.
    Its just going to go up and up. Soon they will have the robo spring butt squat device that lets you squat 4000 lbs. 😂... I really don't think i'm alone in my thinking here.

      Just a thing like any other thing. We've all got our preferences for rage-p*rnography, i guess for you it's equipped lifting and trans people. Classic pick tbh.

      There's plenty of us equipped who just enjoy the technique, process and training style. I've got no qualms with whoever thinks what about raw vs equipped. But fuck man...its really fun. That's all that matters to me.

      A tid bit on that last part so you think the equipment moves the weight?

    • @vizio1975
      @vizio1975 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It makes no sense to use equipment to become a stronger being.
