Real Katana don't make this way, and this sword will not match with a Shinken. Katana have thre layers of metal in this, as like tooth, and take a month to complete

Ok. So I’ve been watching forging videos for quite some time now and follow a lot of prominent people. I saw the title and immediately thought “oh boy... another busted ass katana made from something more useful than the end result” but to my astonishment you did damn near everything “right” and made one hell of a blade. You sir just got a new subscriber. Keep doing what you’re doing. You have a talent my friend; don’t hide that under a bushel basket...

@@FarawayForge Are you aware that this isn't a real katana, not because it's not a Japanese heirloom but because the definition of katana does not match what you made in this video? I hope you know that this isn't an actual katana and it's nothing more than a pretty wallhanger.

I wish you could give it proper hamon or temper lines, it wont just make it beautiful but will add some stregth to the edge. Second, i wish you wrapped the handle with ray skin or something rough so the string wrap wont move when handling. Thanks. Hope this will help you in your next build. Keep safe bud.

But there is one thing that’s has been bugging me for a long time. When you’ve made the swords, where do they end up? Do you sell them to people, store them in a shed or put them on a shelf for show off? That’s the thing I’d like to know before starting to make swords myself

It is beautiful, even if it's not made the same way as authentic katanas. 👍
katanas get the distinctive curve because a softer steel is inserted into the harder carbon steel, and the softer steel cools faster than the harder carbon steel when quenched so the katana curves as a result. The softer steel absorbs impact, giving the sword the ability to resist shattering when used in battle, and the hard, folded carbon steel allows the katana to retain a very sharp edge.

All I've seen is everyday tools turned into swords and katanas. Why can't we see katanas turned into wrenches? 😂

This guy did an unbelievable job making a sword out of a wrench but he made one mistake the hilt is made out of wood what he should have did before he ended the video is to put nails throughout the hilt so the wooden Hill doesn't break then after that you cover it up with the rapping then after that you're pretty much done remember something everyone the most important part of the sword regardless of what sort it is is the hilt

That's not how an authentic katana is done. There is one bamboo peg at the top of the hilt. That is the only thing keeping it together. That is the last thing you do. This guy did it the correct way in his own way. I would suggest educating yourself better with katanas. I'm not trying to offend you. Just making a friendly suggestion.

I like this video so much. If you don’t mind, I would like to ask your permission to share this video to the other website in China for the embarrassing reason that TH-cam is blocked from accessing in China. Of Course, I will give sources of the original website. Thank you very much.
