- Hi everyone ^0^ Here's a quick video of how I secure my cosplay wig.
Securing your wig right is important if you don't want it to slip of in the hours that you wear it. I hope that it will help you guys. ♥

THANK YOUUU!!! My Monika wig just kept falling off no matter what I tried, even a wig band didn’t work so this helped SO much!!!

Update: It worked fantastically at keeping the wig in place, I cannot recommend this enough!! Even at the end of the day I had trouble taking it off my head, that's how well it worked

Thank you so much! I’m wearing my Rapunzel wig for a Halloween event, it’s movie accurate so it is SO thick and just a BEAST of a wig😅
oof good luck! sounds like it's going to be HEAVY. you might want to use some pins a bit further back on your head as well so it's not pulling too much on your hairline.

I know this was 9ys ago but thank you so much for making this!! I honestly wish I knew this When I went to a convention recently as hu tao from genshin impact. I might be going to a con soon and im planning to go as miku and didn't really know a good way to keep the wig from sliding off, so thank you so much!

I have short hair and I didnt know I needed so many, many hair pins to prevent my wig from falling off, because I have two long hair extensions that is weighing my wig down on the backside. Thanks for the guide!

TYSM for the tutorial!! My Raiden Ei wig is SO heavy and thick. I haven’t worn it yet, but it’s the longest wig I’ve ever gotten, and can tell it’s going to fall lol

Thank you so much! I bought BaiZhu cosplay about a month ago but was afraid to wear the wig because of it's weight. But now I found your tutorial and I hope that the wig will stay on my head still even if I pull the braid to the back.

@@Nightskylullaby I finally tried your tutorial and YES it really helped my wig stay in place. I don't think with my few bobby pins it holds securely enough to move around, but for video it's just right. (But for the festivals, I need to buy more pins)
P.S. I used 6-7 bobby pins, 4 for the wig cap and 3 for the wig.

This definitely helps I'm going to wear a Genshin Impact Hu Tao wig for a parade and Halloween and I am horrible at securing wigs so my scalp

Hello! Thank you so much for this. Apparently it'll be my first time to cosplay and I've been wondering if is it natural that some of your hairs on the nape are still showing when wearing a wig? Thank you!
Don't worry if some of your hair still shows. It's pretty normal! It really depends on the size of the wig and the way it fits. I don't worry about it that much but if you don't like them to show you can leave out a little bit of the wig hair and cut it short to create some baby hairs that will cover it. (Some ponytail wigs already have that.) I like to use hairspray to glue them down.

I tried no matter what it starts slipping back with wig cap. In an 8hr period ware I would say around 3 hrs it already starts to shift or fall back. Yes I added tons pins😅 It eventually still starts moving on it own. This is me out and about. This doesn't help me. My head size is about 23in I don't know if that's why? my head too big ?? 😅 I'm now considering braiding my hair. Oh yeah my real hair is 20in long and medium thickness. I don't know if its because of my long hair?
If your wig feels like it fits well (not so tight it's uncomfortable or so loose the edges lift of your head) I think the issue is that the wig cap itself isn't pinned to your hair well enough. That should stop the wig cap from moving. When I feel like the pins aren't doing their job I sometimes try a different brand of pins or use a few flat hair clips in combination with as net wig cap. The clips can also help with distributing the weight so the wig isn't pulling on your hairline as much. You can also try a wig grip band. I personally haven't used one but I know people that really like it.

i still dont understand how to stick the bobby pin.. would it be noticeable if i stick it to my wig?? im sorry for my bad english, i went trough many videos but still dont understand how did u stick that bobby pin
+Reita Foxy What I did is I pinned the wig to the wig cap. It is pretty much the same as when I pin the wigcap to my own hair in the beginning of the video. If you use small bobbypins they won't stick out of the hair. They will always stick out a bit but the small pins can be covered with hair so you can't see them.

You're welcome! I always use 4 bobby pins to secure the wig cap and 8 to secure the wig to the cap.

thx alot! I think the clip that came on my wig clip may not be the beast, cus they thend to fall of... often... do i need to change the clip or somethign???
You're welcome ^-^ You can try replacing the hair tie first. I use a thick one now and I hook part of the clip into it. Sometimes the hair is a bit too slippery for the clip to stay. If that doesn't wok you ight need to replace the clip. Hope this helps a bit.

I don't mean to ask a question after your incredibly helpful video, but do you by chance know if this would work if I were perhaps.. at a renaissance or maybe at a Larp event? More so I suppose I am just asking if it would stay up if I were running around and fighting people?
For me it stayed on all day at a convention or fair. For Larp I'm not really sure since I don't larp myself but I think it will be alright unless someone acidentally pulls on it. I think you just have to try it out for larp.
(Just keep in mind that, if you have a heavy wig, all the weight is pinned to your own hair so be careful, wearing it for too long if the weight keeps puling on it can irritate your scalp or give you a headace.)

How do i stop my wig caps sliding back ? I was at a comic con and they kept moving so i had to take of the wig
What you can try is use net wigcaps and secure them with a bunch of bobby pins. Thats what always works for me.
