is it better to use gorilla glue than hot glue gun for when you attach the wig pieces together like like putting in the wig glue inside the hole and attaching it to the nail. Would it be better to do gorilla glue?
AT LEAST someone who make advanced tutorials not using Arda or other mega pricey wigs that most of us can't find in our countries or even afford... So thank you very much, this is so useful :)
@@notgojo491 idk if you'll see this, but except for hot glue (which you shouldn't use, use tacky glue or craft glue(outside)) you can not use any heat on cheap wigs, like crimping or steaming for more volume
Oh I'm a girl so I never watched Hercules. ^u^ I thought the name Megara sounded familiar though, but like a vocaloid name, also since that's who a lot of people like to cosplay as. There's so many vocaloids I can't keep track of them all.
What I really love about your work (apart from the fact that it's amazing and you progress so much) is that while you offer Premium content, you also offer free content as well which is very helpful for everyone and not just patreons! I don't do cosplays myself, but it's sooo interesting to look at your work and progress over the years! I love to bring up your name whenever I talk with friends, and they're all amazed at your work! Keep it up ♥
I’m working on Widowmaker right now, and I really wanted the fat topped but thin bottomed pony she has- this will be really helpful for that. Also found your pdfs for her really great. Thank you!
I love this, I also love how this kind of styling technique could be applied for an "everyday" wig too. I personally love a super voluminous ponytail and hate damaging my hair to get one because as she said, you CAN use ponytail clips instead of 2 wigs
Thank you for this tutorial. I have a bowsette cosplay, but I didnt use a wig because I didn't know how I would do a ponytail (so I used my own hair). This helps a lot!
Luna Suburbia It’s true that wigs often look more accurate to the character, but that doesn’t mean that using your natural hair is always bad. Also, not everyone has the resources or access to wigs. Maybe don’t tell people what they should and shouldn’t do. I didn’t see anyone asking for criticism.
This is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing it, I'm definetly gonna use it for my KDA Akali cosplay. Also I'm happy to see you posting more videos! You're doing great!
Your ponytail tutorials (the other being Bowsette) helped me figure out a pigtail attachment I've been struggling with for so long. I desperately needed this
Omg, i have a little while styling wigs and when i saw your work i was completely amazed of how perfect your work is... I'll keep on practicing because i want to be at least half as good as you styling wigs... You are definitely my wig styling role-model!!! I really admire your work!❤
For anyone asking if there's any way to avoid using worbla, I used some plastic sheet I found at home depot that I heated up with my heat gun then cut the pieces I needed, and used contact cement to attach the pieces together. Granted its a lot harder but I didnt have any worbla to use and wasn't prepared to spend $70 a roll!! I also painted the foam base so it blended in more with the wig color
Ooooooohhhhh I have a Botan cosplay to debut in a few weeks and this will be so perfect for her ponytail! Thank you so much for such a clear and concise tutorial like this!
This is amazing, probably best he easiest wig tutorial I’ve been able to follow a long with without getting confused or lost! I’m gonna try this with my next cosplay! Thank you so much! ❤️
I freaking love you... good thing I didn't destroy another wig yet, before seeing it xD I've been trying so long to make it work with my widowmaker wig, this is perfeeeect!!!
I'm new to anime, cosplay and all that stuff, but i want to try cosplaying as Deidara from Naruto Shippuden with a friend as Tobi. so I went looking on how to style wigs and this came up. I. AM. SO. THANKFUL. that I found this tutorial. I'm hoping i can get it done in time for Halloween, even though covid is gonna mess it up. Still, thank-you for this tutorial, it is extremely helpful and informative.
I learned the teasing & hairspray part of regular hair volume from the hairstylists I used to work with (am a massage therapist). But I've always thought about doing more anime style looks for Halloween or cosplay, so this is extra helpful!!
Something I've learned is that a fish deboning knife works PERFECTLY for sculpting insulation foam. You can carefully shave off excess until you reach you desired shape.
Im just a noobie in cosplay and im not sure if i can do it in 1 time. but im sure im gonna try it thank you so much for these usefull turtorials and hopefully i can meet you one time
Just about any thermoplastic will work for this type of project - Worbla, yes, but also Wonderflex, Sintra, Thibra, or even thermoplastics that don't come in sheets but in different materials, like Friendly Plastic, Fossshape, or Varaform. Cosplaysupplies.com is the most popular website that I know of that sells all of these materials, and they do ship internationally, but depending on where you live there may be a website that ships from closer to you, which would probably be cheaper. For instance, worblamexico.com ships from Mexico, and nanashop.com.br and shark-store.loja2.com.br ship from Brazil. Aside from thermoplastics, I've seen people shape steel to use as frames, but that sounds uncomfortable to me. I know PVC pipes can be heated enough to be bent and flattened, but you'd have to flatten the pipe, make it thin enough to fit under your wig, and only then could you shape it to fit your head. You'd also have to drill a screw through it instead of sticking a nail to it with material, since PVC doesn't stick to itself. You really have to use something that is both hard and sturdy enough to hold the weight of the ponytail in place, but that can also bend enough to fit the shape of your head, and that isn't a wide range of materials as far as I know.
Great tutorial! I'll have to use this method for my Undyne costume - only difference is that I'll be attaching the frame to a bald cap so I can be bald!
Question- when you cut and style wigs, how do you deal with the hair that gets everywhere? Last time I cut a wig my clothes had hairs in them for MONTHS
I have a vacuum cleaner in my room that I use all the time XD hair trimmings, loose fur and foam dust are part of cosplay life so keeping one near by helps a lot XP
I used this method for my Bowsette and it was my first time EVER doing a wig...It turned out so well!!!!! No one could believe it was my first wig!
LUKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS!?
Imma go as bowsette this year😅
It's probs too late but I already got it sooo ¯\_(シ)_/¯
But that's if the con isn't cancelled this year >

Not like the brand of the wig makes any difference in the making
@notgojo491 no, there is a difference ... i used an expensive brand and compared to the 10$ ones i used to get it was WAYYY higher quality
