If you want more tips on melting the wig into the skin and making it look as natural as possible make sure to look up tutorials from black women, that’s where I’ve learned all I know about wig installs as they’re pretty much the OG’s of the wig community ❤
As someone with alopecia that effects my self esteem and confidence SO much, I really appreciate content like this. 💙 Your wigs are all so incredibly beautiful and look so real, I hope one day I can afford to have one as nice as yours. I feel like it would be life changing for me lol
As someone who makes and dyes wigs I feel like the lowest price for a 13x4 frontal wig real human hair 20inch is around 200$ (from day Ali express) and you have to do all the customization and dying yourself. The wigs you use are beautiful but more expensive than the average consumer could purchase. I would be curious what other people spend?
@@caitlinmchugh839 In my area, a full, high-quality human hair wig color matched to you, etc. is at least a few thousand dollars. There is a foundation that provides grants to people like me but the max is $300. I was just looking today and the grant has specific companies they work with, looking at their websites the higher quality full-coverage wigs can be up to $7,000 and higher. And of course you have to pay for a consultation that's like another $150+ So I wonder what the grant is even supposed to do as just a fraction of the cost. Of course it's awesome they have the option, but for me it wouldn't even come close to helping to make those wigs accessible. To me that is insanely expensive especially for someone who needs it for a medical reason :( It really gives some perspective to seeing people who own multiple high-quality human hair wigs, like that is a LOT of money. Of course I think it's awesome for people who can afford it, but it's just crazy to realize how pricey they can really be.
There’s beautiful lace front wigs for 50 bucks. I searched this on TH-cam “best low cost lace front wig” and found lots. You get to see what they look like on too. They aren’t human hair but still look great
I only ever see people gluing down wigs when they’re brand new and still have all the lace on. I’d like to see someone reusing a wig and showing that process
the process is the same, you just don't need to cut the lace from the wig since it's done already - and you can wash your wig before hand to clean the front lace from extra makeup or glue
@Serena H I completely agree. I’ve only ever seen new wig installs, but am super curious about seeing the application of an already trimmed one. It seems like it’d be much harder to line up etc. because you’d be hanging onto the wig hair line (I assume?) that you’re trying to line up with your hairline below so your hands would be obstructing your view(?)… Whereas a new install seems easier to me because your hands aren’t blocking your view and you can see through the lace along the full hairline *before* you stick it down. If you’re holding the wig hairline with your hands, you wouldn’t be able to hold the full hairline off of every part of the head while you line it up (I assume, or maybe with a lot of practice?). It seems like it’d be one of those ‘easy in theory, but very hard in practice’ things…it’s like the hair equivalent of doing flawless eyeliner 😂
@@natmickan It does take a bit of practice but it's actually really easy once you've figured out the best way for you to do it efficiently - as you said, just like eyeliner
@@ColdXperience that’s why I really want to see how different people do it. I’d consider getting a wig if I trusted myself to be able to make it look decent beyond 1 use, but without getting an idea of how steep that learning curve is, I would never risk it. That said, I’ve watched a *tonne* of eyeliner videos over the years, but I still end up with 1 good eye and 1 eye that looks like I let a kid loose with a sharpie 😂
Thank you for the video ! Very useful. I have 3 questions : - Don't you need to add glue again on the edges after a few days? - Don't you use a night cap / bonnet to protect the wig at night? - Could you make a video to explain more how you cut the lace off ? It's the thing I find the most tricky, how to cut it to make it look invisible
- sometimes yes, depending on how well you glued it the first time - I personally don’t but I would recommend, I’m just happy to restyle the next day - yes i absolutely can although I would always recommend following the natural hairline of the wig but cutting about 0.5 cm away from it so you have a tolerance
I love the glasses - so great. Don't let the naysayers here get you down, we need to learn from all avenues of life and turn around and share what we know. You have done that. You have style and class & you speak to a large group that needs this info. 💖
Loved the video! Almost 2 years ago now, I had about half of my natural hair’s length snap off and it was devastating, luckily I already owned quite a few synthetic wigs so I can hide it until it grows back. But lace wigs can be difficult and I still struggle with them! My hair is slowly growing back, unfortunately it grows at a much slower speed than the average 1/2 inch every three months so I’ve maybe gotten an inch in the last couple of years. Totally sucks but I’m thankful for wigs and definitely excited to try this method sometime! You are so beautiful, Stella! Your videos always teach me something and are so fun to watch. You’re the best ❤
Hair grows about a half inch a month, give or take - not every three months. As a licensed cosmetologist, whom also has slow growing hair - I’d consider looking at potential nutrient deficiencies, as to why your hair is growing at such a slow rate. Also, I recently began using a rosemary-rice water spray, on my hair, for the last month or so - which, seems to be triggering growth; at least, around my temples. All I do is boil fresh organic rosemary in distilled water; then, add it to a jar full of organic white rice, while warm - and let it sit for a few hours. Then, add a few drops of rosemary essential oil. I’d get a spray bottle made for essential oils, just in case, depending on how much rosemary oil you add. This, also, can be used as a skin toner, post-shower/face-washing. Even though my skin is generally clear, for the most part - I still have A LOT of skin issues; as I have fibrosis, which, causes layers of my skin to be like plastic, from excess collagen.. That being stated, I have been using this as a skin toner, also - and I have noticed quite the difference in my skin. It’s brighter, softer, there are less blemishes and whatever was there (as they take a long time to heal) are healing faster that they typically would. Makes sense it would have a positive reaction to skin, if it does so with hair - being they are both made of keratin (however, not a general rule, for cosmetics/beauty products). Also, on days prior to shampooing - I’ve been mixing organic jojoba oil and organic castor oil, with a bit of the organic rosemary oil, on my scalp; letting it sit for at least 30 minutes. And these products are much more cost effective than any sort of good quality hair-growth treatment/serum as well as skin-toner. If you do make this, be sure to store it in the fridge, when not in use. I froze any left-over rosemary-rice water, which, I didn’t have a spray bottle for. Just took it out of the freezer, moments ago, in fact. Anyways, best wishes on your hair growth journey. I know how frustrating it can be, when having slow-growing hair. I pray you found this info supportive. Warmest regards.

I'd say probably not, the wig can get matted and pulled off if you try to wash and brush it on your head. Though you should wash the wigs after they've been worn a few times
💯AGREE💯 My hairline is STILL recovering (for more than the past month) from using GhostbondXL for a period of at least 5 months (and, it is true, my wigs would last 5+ days at a time). Even when using an appropriate glue solvent, there is always a very real risk lose of losing some of your natural hair in the process of the wig removal. The glue won't dissolve 100%, no matter how much solvent you apply while the wig is still on your head. This is why your natural hair can, and will, get pulled out at the same time that the wig is being removed. I am just now getting some growth back on my hairline on my sides and the very edges of the hairline on the middle of my forehead. I wish there was a less toxic, less damaging way to get the same results😞
@@ninazawadi239 idk I keep mine in for as long as I can. Its how my family taught me to encourage length and protection. It still just shocks me bc wig application and wear is a complete norm where I'm from
also where i'm from. 9 times out of 10 the wig is sewn on. To take your wig or braids out every three days in considered a privilege. If you pay over $200 to get something done better believe I'm keeping that bitch in for a month or longer if my scalp permits.
@@domiyarhodes9266 yeah also true I guess it also depends on how long your braids last. I have fine , type 3/4 hair so they’ll just start sliding out and break my hair off if I don’t take them out if I do them with extensions . However if I do them with my own hair that’s a whole different story

I suffer with OCD and so I cut my hair by checking and rechecking it can be for hours in a day it's so EVIL and takes my LIFE away because of the OCD it's so horrible I've been going through a hard time now and when it gets bad I feel hopeless in the mirror for hours cutting a little here a little there only to mess it up even more the MIND is wonderful and then a NIGHTMARE 😥
I wish OCD never existed when you are truly OCD your LIFE is not normal NOT at all especially when you relapse 😔
I'm so SAD with this that's why I turn to WIGS at times by my guy hates them and I get so many compliments on them when I do wear them 😥💜
And this is my take on WIGS you can definitely get nice WIGS for $20-$50 you don't have to spend $200 necessarily and if you suffer with alopecia there may even be FREE ONES out there if you search online for support groups if not saving up for at least ONE GOOD ONE would be a GOAL for myself you can most definitely get a WIG as nice as this one that Stella is wearing that's synthetic for under $50 definitely 😘🌈
I'm so glad you're showing some WIGS again thank you 😘 can you please tell me what brand of WIG this is model number and ALL that jazz and I LOVE the velcro like pull backs interesting ❤️💜
I'm just afraid to glue a WIG down for that long I throw a WIG over my natural hair pulled back in a bun ponytail or I use a mesh cap because to me those are better for just put it on and wear like for me it's less damaging then the NYLON ones and your hair can BREATH some as well but this is for just put it on and go not the glue it down and when I travel I bring my WIGS with I just pack them and put them on the day of with the mesh cap 😘
And I do NOT like the combs that come in the WIGS so I pluck them out with thread puller I know that's not the name but you know what I mean I HATE the combs they ALL come out of my WIGS those will give you a headache for SURE 😂😵💫
I'm just wondering when you do this do you have a hard time getting the glue off and is your hair damaged at all in the process and when you cut around the ear you took it further around the ear so assume if the hair came off is that a problem with the hair shedding then because you cut into the hair ???
I wear this color often in many shades of this color mostly bang Bob's and this style too but I LOVE this WIG and some advice to those who do not know a lot about WIGS when it comes to LACE WIGS there can be hard lace and soft lace you always want SOFT LACE 😘
I live in Chicago and we have a lot of distributors here check out "Sam's Beauty Supply" they are pretty cheap and they have a GOOD selection of BOB'S I suggest buying a BOB ombre style in your choice of colors some of my favorite brands are "ModelModel" "It's a Wig" "Outre" and "Mane Concepts" just to name a few and they are NOT expensive "Bobbi Boss" is another brand and she can be a bit more and these WIGS are advertised towards women of color but it doesn't matter what color your skin is ANYONE can wear them and I'm a middle eastern gal with fair skin and I ROCK them and I get compliments ALL the time when I wear them 😘 But I'm very picky when choosing a WIG it much be thick and look real and feel good and I wear some COOL colors like one of my wigs has dimensional colors in it, it's a chocolate brown with red, purple and fushia in it really pretty and if I love it I'll buy MORE then one in the same color for SURE and in other colors too especially if I LOVE the style and fit..🌈🌈
And if you go to the website go to wigs, then synthetic and full then you can see a full selection of synthetic WIGS to choose from when you look at the colors they will have numbers attached to them and they ALL have names the lower the number the darker the wig like a #1 or #2 will be a solid dark color something to keep in mind but once you start ordering you'll be on a crazy train 😂 with so many COOL colors to choose from it's addicting
Now Sam's Beauty Supply has a location in Melrose Park, IL as well that you can actually shop at and try on WIGS usually 3 at time but if you have a WIG store near you then try them on take a picture of the box because most likely you'll find the same WIG online cheaper something to keep in mind it's nice to touch the WIG and look at it in person but with Sam's Beauty Supply and other ones online I'm not sure if they brought back their old policy back of if you didn't do anything to the WIG except try it on and you have everything all put together in the box the way it came you can return it they used to but with Covid they stopped it but now I'm not sure if they brought it back like it used to be so you'll wanna check out the policies when ordering online but when you buy in a STORE forget about returning it if you don't like later when you get home they will not return it that I know for SURE 😭

black hair community cackles in 4 weeks + wigs
I want to see you grow out your hair long again. Please
what is your go to place to purchase wigs?
To be honest I have multiple brands but this was actually one that I am sampling to add to my brand!
@@StellaCini It looks so good.
Before wearing the wig cap your hair was giving joker ✌️😂
❤❤❤
What about metal detectors at the airport? Ever had any issues? Love you bombshell
No sleeping in it then???
Yes to sleeping! This stayed on me for 4 days and nights!
I love wearing wigs , But I really hoped you let your real hair much longer , So I can enjoy your coloring longer hair some day ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Stella don't do this 😭 it's not healthy for your scalp. Also you suffered from bald spots 😞 take care girl
💯AGREE💯
My hairline is STILL recovering (for more than the past month) from using GhostbondXL for a period of at least 5 months (and, it is true, my wigs would last 5+ days at a time). Even when using an appropriate glue solvent, there is always a very real risk lose of losing some of your natural hair in the process of the wig removal. The glue won't dissolve 100%, no matter how much solvent you apply while the wig is still on your head. This is why your natural hair can, and will, get pulled out at the same time that
the wig is being removed. I am just now getting some growth back on my hairline on my sides and the very edges of the hairline on the middle of my forehead. I wish there was a less toxic, less damaging way to get the same results😞
It’s because people don’t properly take off their wigs.
I can barley last 3 hours lol
You copied black women’s video’s and technique now you’re acting like you’re teaching us your secrets.
culture differences are so crazy. the way black women wear wigs for months 😭
@@sweetestsummer absolutely not true we don't even wear braids for months what are you on about?
How do you know how long we wear our units for your information definitely not a mth are you nuts 😅😅
Just awesome. I got 3 wigs this year. Tried on 2, wore 10m. This is that extra push I needed, thank you Stella. 🤎🖤🎃🫶
You're so welcome!
