There were some really good saves, and some not so good ones
They did that backwards, inlet charge should be pushed in ports in cylinder. Then exhaust controlled with valves in head. GMC built a direct injected supercharged two stroke in the 30s..
The exhaust port in cylinder at bdc is no good, puts excessive heat in cylinder and causing numerous unnecessary problems
