I really love denim, this video is very helpful! You look great in everything and I especially appreciate that you always model the clothes. The dark blue puffer vest looks great!😊
I'm so glad you found them helpful! Thanks for stopping by!

I wore jeans all the time in the '70's and 80's especially. Now have some dark wash denim shackets that go with anything. Living in a warmer climate, they work in early spring or fall or winter on cooler days. Agree w/ Beth, I don't wash denim often, but only cold water shorter wash cycle and hang dry in shaded area.
Oh my goodness! What a flashback to the RL teddy bear sweater. Many years ago I had that in every color. We also had everything from pillows to pool towels with the bears. I also had quite a collection of teddy bears, some RL, others curated from trios around the world. Only a couple of years ago I gave away about 30 of my bears. Thought it was time to let someone else love them. Honestly they be ame quite a lot of work keeping them vacuumed and dressed. Thanks for the memory.
Thanks for a really informative video. I have at least 20 pairs of jeans and about 8 jeans jackets in classic dark rinse light rinse and also white and pastel colours. I love my denims. I'm 71yrs old and find denims are very versatile just as you say. Many thanks for another inspirational video❤❤❤
Talbots jeans are my go-to brand because the cut really works for me. I have “barely boot” jeans in dark-wash navy and black, and straight-leg high-rise (classic?) pairs in white, grey and medium-wash blue. So versatile, classic/classy, and well made.
I totally agree about not washing too often. I know some think they need to be washed often but I don’t. I also hang my jeans to dry. My hubby teases me because I have jeans that are several years old ha ha. I’m saving money though. And my jeans.
I must tell you that I am still wearing my 40 year old straight leg Levi 501's from high school! I wear them at least 3x a week and Gen z always compliments me on them.
Beth, you look fab and stylish as usual! Very inspiring...love that you've included the brand and style. Im going to give a few of these a try. Looking for jeans is very overwhelming with all the brands/styles out there!!
I’m 67 and wear a pair of barrel wide leg jeans from gap. I love them styled with a sleek turtle neck, or a cashmere buttoned cardigan that sits right on the waistband. I layer with a sleek vest on colder days.
Please, tell us how you manage to wear heels? Especially those stilettos with barrel jeans. I’m 65 and used to rock heels all day long and at work but now they are just too painful to bear. I’m guessing many older ladies can relate. Would love more footwear videos to stay stylish and relevant without pain. Thx! Love, love, love your style and sense of fun!
Hi Beth! Great video - some of these tips I’d call ‘tried and true’ - but I didn’t know about the freezer technique for freshening jeans. I used to wear them more often - but you’ve definitely inspired me to take another look! ❤
At 67 I’m so happy flare and wide leg are back! Reminds me of my teens in the 70’s ☮️. I also love straight leg jeans. I still have a pair of my 501 button fly Levi’s from my youth 🥰. I’ve fit in them several times over my lifetime 😂but not right now. Love colored jeans and my dark denim, black and white denims! I just cannot like the cropped flare 😂. They just look like you shrunk your bell bottoms😂 and make me think of Star Trek space uniforms. And how is it flattering? It cuts legs short. 🤷♀️ just don’t get that trend. Each to their own 😉 God bless America 🇺🇸 We can enjoy what we like 👍
Great video, Beth. I purchased a pair of flare leg denim jeans from Talbots about 3 years ago and didn't wear them much, but this year, I have rediscovered them and absolutely love the silhouette on my petite stature. I have two pairs of barrel pants and I do like how they look on me. My fun jean that I purchased in December was a pair of silver metallic ones. I am learning different ways to styling them so I can wear them through January as well. I do follow all of your "how to take care of denim" tips. Really works. Thank you. By the way, I love how you look in the wide-leg jeans.
This is a great video Beth, thank you sooo much!! Nothing better than a good pair of jeans! Back in the day I used to make my own patch Jeans, lol… Happy New Year! 😊
I’m surprised that Levis didn’t make it into the “classic” denim list. Great video!!! I’ve been on the fence about patch work jeans, but I think I’ll try a pair. I’ve had my eye on pair with velvet patches.
I have always found that a regular wash in cool/cold water then line dry for denim is perfectly fine..... I am so happy to see this style come back with the wider leg and a pair of boots just make sure for a tighter or more fitted shirts on top.
Excellent advice on care & styling. I noted you didn’t mention dry cleaning as a care option. As the 70+ daughter of a dry cleaner, I never washed my jeans. And given that you’re not recommending washing too often, it wouldn’t be that expensive to dry clean.?Plus, it has the added benefit of being able to have them pressed & creased, depending on the style. They never wear out with this method! Thanks for your grace, style & kind demeanor. Andi in DC 😊
I like to dry clean all of my trousers. Jeans & cords are no exception since I like a pressed crease in all of my trousers including linen, cotton, silk, wool. Moreover, I like creases in my shorts as well.
Love wide leg, boot cut, straight leg, barrel leg jeans and skinny jeans with boots are always fun. I have them all. I haven’t tried a wide cuff Jean, but you made them look interesting. Patchwork is not for me though as it feels silly.
I really like the wide leg jeans with the patch pockets in front. All the brands have them. However, I haven't been able to get a good fit. I tried various brands but decided yo keep the J. Crew ones but will need to lose a few pounds to confortably wear them.
Re: shrinkage, when I was in high school and college (1970s), form-fitting jeans were the thing. To get them just right, we (not me, but people I knew with better figures) would put on a new pair, fill the bathtub with water as hot as they could stand, then get in jeans and all. It worked. Of course, that was pre-Spandex. Have you found any white jeans that are truly opaque? I like white, but it drives me nuts to see pocket outlines and seam allowances. I haven't decided whether to try barrel-cut jeans. I did buy a pair of cuffed jeans, though. Love the red blazer outfit at 16:36.
At 75, the Brad of jeans that fit me best are from NYDJ, their Marilyn straight leg jeans. I have some wide leg style, too, but need to have them shortened. I’m only 5’2” and forgot to order the petite length. Ugh!
Love the great information on caring for jeans. I’m kinda over the Jean jacket. I just don’t find them flattering and they’ve had their moment. Then again, I kinda like those barrel leg jeans. I may be the strangest viewer you have! Love the great looks you’ve put together!
LOL! I've been wearing jean jackets for forty years so they are a wardrobe staple to me although they do go in and out of fashion. I hope you try the barrel leg jeans! They're a fun alternative.
Nice video! From advice on styling to caring for denim! Not to mention the origin of our iconic and beloved denim jeans ! Love Talbots because I’m only 5’1” and their petites are always right for me! The barrel style, however, should come with a warning ‼️ Must be a bit on the taller side!😉
No barrel leg jeans for me🙅🏼♀️they're man repellers and Aladin pants. Good luck if you can carry it off . I don't follow jeans trends. I wear my best fitting jeans whatever that silhouette is. Always interested in your POV
Hi Beth. I live in a rather cold climate (Denmark) and I find most types of denim chilly to wear. And jeans with a little with in the legs are especially chilly. There are absolutely no warmth in that fabric. In the summer I usually wear skinny jeans in both stone washed and white denim and that's fine because the weather is warm-ish, but in winter I can't use any clothing made of denim if it's not close to the body. I have 2 denim jackets and 1 maxi lenght denim coat (bought it 40 years ago when it was FASHION 😉) which are of absolutely NO use to me in all but 3 months of the year and this annoys me.
I live in Maine. My winter jeans are LL Bean classic jeans -- either flannel- lined or fleece-lined straight leg. For 5'8" medium tall is a perfect length.
You like cropped flares because you’re very tall, but they are too visually leg-shortening for most of us. Not for me, nor are the patchwork or embellished ones - too faddish.
Im 74 and one piece of clothing i have saved since 1968 college years is my denim shirt...lol. Maybe they should bury me in it.I love my Gloria vanderbilt jeans and the price is great and they have longs!Sorry you lost me with flood water white pants........totally cuts your body slimness in half.LOL I have that drying rack......Amazon and i also dry my jeans that way and I hand wash them.
You are slim and look great fir an older Conan. Be good to give advice on different body shapes with Jeans. Plump woman need to know what's the best for them.
I have sooo many pairs of jeans, all brands; even after tossing all but the high rise. Different washes, different cuts. I used to want them to always stay dark and never fade, but have come to appreciate natural fade and slight distressing on pocket edges, etc. My preference is more cotton, less stretch; because I think stretch jeans eventually fail to go back. Levi’s is my holy grail for jeans. Seriously, no jeans flatter your butt better that the Levi’s Wedgie. I try to keep one dark wash pair for “dress” and I do try to delay washing them. Every-day jeans get washed about every 4-5 wears. The idea of waiting until they start to smell is disturbing to me. I’m thinking that if they smell after I’ve taken them off, they were smelling while I was wearing them. I would say use your common sense and wash them BEFORE they start to smell. That said, if you check with Levi’s(inventor of jeans) they will tell you to NEVER wash your jeans. So…there’s that 😄
❤️Freezing jeans does not kill bacteria, remove dead skin cells (and mites), remove dirt and oils or remove ammonia from oxidized urine. It's a myth. ❤️ I love wide leg jeans that fall straight from the hip or fall straight from the thigh. Fit and flattering are my primary criteria for jeans styles. Jeans that taper from wide hips to tiny ankles make hips look larger than jeans that fall straight from the hips or thighs. I also need the length to cover my ankles that are swollen from arthritis and vein issues. Pant legs must provide ease around my knees in order to allow comfortable movement and not reveal the contours of my knobby knees and thinning thighs. (I'm 67.). A high waistband and longer inseam give the illusion of longer legs, but I also like wide legs in cropped lengths when I can wear boots to hide my ankles. I love the barrel shape when the waist is high and the inseam is long. I love all different shades of browns with denim. Very fresh and easy to accessorize. I like vintage silhouettes like flares, bells and tapered capris, but they're just not flattering on me due to medical issues. Those cuts can look very nice on someone else. An aspect not discussed is zippers vs. pull ones. Since the technology makes it possible to have a nice closely fitting flat waist t under a close fitting sweater, I prefer the option for more easily tucking in a button down shirt behind a nice zipper. I also like the look of a belt going through belt loops. And accessories like belts really elevate an outfit. Thanks for a thought provoking video. Well done. ❤️
Have you lost your mind??? Put smelly jeans in a air tight bag in your freezer where I assume you have food??? I don't care how air tight the bag is dirty jeans are NOT going in my freezer! And no I'm not wearing jeans 10 X before washing 🤦
Agreed. My jeans are worn 2 to 3 times before a wash and 3 is pushing it. I'm in my 60's and our bodies go through natural processes that affect our hygiene. Panty liners are a great idea but even then not forgoing washing my pants for extended periods. Ppl don't understand that hidden odors can be detected by a good nose! Lol.
I understand this video might not be for everyone, but I wanted to create something detailed for people looking to learn more about denim. If there’s something specific you’d like to see or a way I could make it more engaging, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Um, Levi Strauss didn’t create them. Denim was cheap fabric created for slaves. Strauss created the stronger stitching so the jeans lasted longer. Let’s make sure we are communicating accurate info.
Go check the facts. It is well-known that Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis invented denim in 1873; the company is now known as Levi Strauss or Levi's. The jeans were created for miners in California and not slaves as the Civil War was over in 1865 and slavery was abolished several years prior to their invention.

I love a good puffer vest for sure and I like the crop style!
I love jeans, always have. Glad to hear that they are classic 👌
They're always on trend!
Loved your comment that your jeans "keep you honest" - who needs a scale when your favorite jeans are getting a little snug!
I wear jeans all the time. I liked the tips you gave with each style. Thank you
I'm so glad you found them helpful! Thanks for stopping by!

I am loving wide leg jeans….definitely in my Jean rotation….😊
Great choice! I think they're going to be popular for a long time.

I had to give up my heels after chemo-neuropathy is real and dictates my footwear. I still look for cute and stylish flats.
Stilettos are a no, no at a certain age too painful and dangerous. There are severalmpretty options
Loved this video! Jeans are my life pretty much!
Me too!
You look wonderful!
I love your hair, it looks so clean, fresh, and modern!
Pixie hair style variations are ideal for older women. Always in style.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
It seems to me that 2025 is the year for wearing any type of jean style and I am for sure loving it!!
I agree, there's something for everyone this year!
This was a great tutorial on jeans. I love jeans their my favorite. Have a blessed week❤
I love jeans too - thanks for watching!
Hi Beth! Great video - some of these tips I’d call ‘tried and true’ - but I didn’t know about the freezer technique for freshening jeans. I used to wear them more often - but you’ve definitely inspired me to take another look! ❤
You can’t go wrong with a classic denim look! Definitely try the freezer method - it works!
Thank you so much for this informative and interesting presentation. I loved it! ❤
You’re so welcome, Elsie! Glad you liked it!

I feel the same. Wide legs feel very nostalgic to me. My hippie days.
What a great video and thanks for all you do, Beth! I love that there are so many shapes and styles this year!
You are so welcome! Isn't it great to have so many choices?!
Love barrel jeans! Also barrel knit pants.
I agree! Barrel legs are very flattering!

This is a great video Beth, thank you sooo much!! Nothing better than a good pair of jeans! Back in the day I used to make my own patch Jeans, lol… Happy New Year! 😊
Making your own jeans is pretty impressive!
I'm 63 and my 8-year-old granddaughter and I both have the exact same pair of wide leg jeans. Different sizes of course
Put vinegar in the wash with any new dark color clothing item the first wash to keep color.
That's a good trick to help the color last longer!
I put vinegar in my wash every time with all my clothes.
I’m surprised that Levis didn’t make it into the “classic” denim list. Great video!!! I’ve been on the fence about patch work jeans, but I think I’ll try a pair. I’ve had my eye on pair with velvet patches.
Great video.Love denim
Thank you!!
Great video 💙 I wear jeans 4 times before washing, I will try the freezer method. Thanks ✨️
It’s worth a try!
Thank you Beth. A great video as always.
I have always found that a regular wash in cool/cold water then line dry for denim is perfectly fine..... I am so happy to see this style come back with the wider leg and a pair of boots just make sure for a tighter or more fitted shirts on top.
Thanks for care information on jeans will apply.
You’re welcome, happy to help!
Great Video Beth. Thank You.
You are so welcome! I so appreciate you stopping by!
Love my barrel jeans!
Aren't they fun to wear?!
I love my denim skirts especially with a crisp, white blouse. Do you have a video on styling denim skirts?
love your style of shoes. Is there a certain brand you buy.
Excellent advice on care & styling. I noted you didn’t mention dry cleaning as a care option. As the 70+ daughter of a dry cleaner, I never washed my jeans. I don't think you need to go to the expense of dry cleaning denim but that is an option. Thanks for sharing!
I like to dry clean all of my trousers. Jeans & cords are no exception since I like a pressed crease in all of my trousers including linen, cotton, silk, wool. Moreover, I like creases in my shorts as well.
Wow! What a collection of denim! I got rid of most of my denim, as it’s way too hot 🥵 for Florida! ❤
Florida summers are brutal! But Winter is a great time to wear denim even in Florida.
Love wide leg, boot cut, straight leg, barrel leg jeans and skinny jeans with boots are always fun. I have them all. I haven’t tried a wide cuff Jean, but you made them look interesting. Patchwork is not for me though as it feels silly.
You're definitely a denim fan. Pick the silhouettes that work for you.
love that dark denim skirt outfit; but sorry those pearl embellished ones are not me
The embellished pearl denim definitely aren't everyone's cup of tea. But I love how many styles and silhouettes are available.
I get my best fit in Talbots jeans, and they have the petite length I need, but I hate that they have Spandex in them. I want 100 cotton!
Could you please tell us about the blue puffer vest you are wearing?
it is linked the description box.
@ thank you!
I really like the wide leg jeans with the patch pockets in front. All the brands have them. However, I haven't been able to get a good fit. I tried various brands but decided yo keep the J. Crew ones but will need to lose a few pounds to confortably wear them.
I'm always a fan of J.Crew denim!
Where did you purchase the denim skirt you showed? Great video❣️
Everything is linked in the description box.
@ thx!
What kind of steamer do you have? Where did you buy it? I bought a large(not hand held) and I am a bit disappointed. I wish it gave more steam.
Re: shrinkage, when I was in high school and college (1970s), form-fitting jeans were the thing.
Love this video!!
Glad you liked it!! Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks. Loved the barrel jeans look!!❤
Such a fun silhouette to wear!
At 75, the Brad of jeans that fit me best are from NYDJ, their Marilyn straight leg jeans. I have some wide leg style, too, but need to have them shortened. I’m only 5’2” and forgot to order the petite length. Ugh!
Thanks for sharing!
Any ideas on where to find some great fitting straight leg or boot cut grey jeans? They don’t seem to be popular this season.
I have several options linked in the description box.
Beth, are you familiar with AG jeans? Do you wear them?
I am! I like them.
I love barrel jeans
My DIL Kelly who is 5'0" is rocking a pair of barrel leg from Madewell. She looks fantastic!
Well , truth be told she does look pretty fantastic in whatever she wears!! So there is that! 😊
My jeans always stretch out, after one wear. I can’t wear them more than twice, before washing them….any suggestions?
U r buying a brand with stretchy fibers. My Chico’s jeans look good for one wearing before they stretch.
No barrel leg jeans for me🙅🏼♀️they're man repellers and Aladin pants. Good luck if you can carry it off . I don't follow jeans trends. I wear my best fitting jeans whatever that silhouette is. Always interested in your POV
I love RL but those patch jeans are a no. Thanks for the video
Your eye are so BLUE. Beautiful.
Thank you!
The wide leg jeans do not flatter anyone especially short woman.
Then you don't have fabric softener when you wash jeans

I live in Maine. My winter jeans are LL Bean classic jeans -- either flannel- lined or fleece-lined straight leg. For 5'8" medium tall is a perfect length.
You’ve lost weight! Please share your tips!

Lots of denim silhouettes to try on for size. Not all are meant to be slimming. Some are just plain FUN!
You are slim and look great fir an older Conan.
Be good to give advice on different body shapes with Jeans. Plump woman need to know what's the best for them.
Wide leg denim looks good on tall, svelte woman. Otherwise, don’t be conned to think this is a becoming look.
Fashion also needs to be FUN!

I only know the jeans come out of the freezer looking refreshed. I love have all sorts of styles and silhouettes available in 2025!
👍👍👍
Thanks for stopping by!
Love denim, but wide legged jeans are awful. Patchwork? Really, too tacky for me. Will only wear the classic looks with jeans and jackets.
Style is always about personal preference. And I'll let Ralph Lauren know your thoughts about patchwork jeans.
Panty liners ! ,

LOL!
A little boring
@@BethDjalaliI agree, that’s what I read several years ago.
Beth, you are absolutely right. The problem is people don't research before they speak
@@ElsaFernandez-qf7yq Thank you!
@@BethDjalaliThank you very much Beth for correcting this misinformation. I would also add that Strauss & Davis were German Jews.
Each to their own 😉 God bless America 🇺🇸 We can enjoy what we like 👍
It's nice to see trends come back around!
