That said, I fought their mini boss version straight up without summon and they aren't that bad. One of the harder mini bosses for sure but very manageable for a 3 vs 1. From what I can tell, the Bloodhound is meant to be one of the first bosses you face. For me he was the third after a watchdog and the soldier. He was very hard hitting for my sub level 10 character, and he made me quickly learn about greed vs stupidity in this game.

    • @yunglink992
      @yunglink992 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      In this video and his main boss one a big flaw is how late he fought most of the bosses. Like sure Astel might not be that bad, but if you fight him at the earliest logical point to, every single one of his attacks one shots if you haven't been pumping an insane amount of bitch vigor. Same with bloodhound, I fought him extremely early and pretty much had to get a no hit for even a chance of winning.

    • @shadowyking123
      @shadowyking123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@yunglink992 Yeah, definitely. I think it would've been a good idea for DeMod to create a new character and keep it within strict bounds of recommended levels and upgrades for each region for fighting the bosses.
      Like, I'd personally rank Darriwil about 10 ranks above Alabaster Lord because by time you fight Alabaster Lord, you've likely killed two or three Great Rune Holders, plus cleared Caria Manor. You'd know the value of being aggressive by then and his simple moveset is a piece of cake. Meanwhile, Darriwil is placed super early in the game, has high damage, has an aggressive moveset with many short teleports, forces you to dodge rather than block, etc. He's definitely one of the harder bosses in Limgrave.

    • @yunglink992
      @yunglink992 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@shadowyking123 Absolutely agree with Darriwil. He was the 3rd or 4th boss I faced, so he stomped me. By the time I fought Alabaster Lord I'd already killed multiple of him as a basic enemy. But I guess that kind of speaks to how this game is almost impossible to rank boss difficulty outside of maybe the late main story bosses, because your choice of progression dictates difficulty more than design does.

    • @KatarHero72
      @KatarHero72 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shadowyking123 Hard agree. Darriwil was a boss I spent a lot of time on because I am not a "veteran" of the series and his speed made me learn quickly or keep dying. He was the first boss that actually gave me any trouble, more because he was the first with a modicum of difficulty.
      I think Demod did him dirty because he faced what's supposed to be one of the first five bosses you face, not a late game fight. Compare this to the Crucible knight, who's OBVIOUSLY designed for a mid-late game build.
      You also mentioned Alabaster Lord, who honestly was MUCH easier, because he's very easy to stagger. Ironically my go-to weapon is the Bloodhound's fang, which is perfect for spacing between the Alabaster Lord's attacks, keeping him stun locked. You can't really stun lock Darriwil that early into the game, especially with his reach and speed.

      Id also like to see some videos about how ridiculously OP magic builds are in this game. I seriously regret making a strength based class with a greatsword because just like Dark Souls 3, poise is once again tied to your weapon class. Swinging an Ultra Greatsword is fine because it has poise tied to its hits. But swinging a greatsword is just pointless because you get knocked out of every hit, and it swings 50% as fast as a katana. It makes fighting some of the later bosses and encounters just an absolute chore and extremely difficult. Not the fun difficulty, just annoying af. If youre running a greatsword strength build and want to take a stab at some of the late game gank fights like the godskin duo, good luck lol.

      I'm going to give some examples of Bosses I didn't want to see reappear, so big spoilers for the entire game:
      For example, Astel reappears, Godrick reappears in a Geol, Mohg also reappears, Godfrey must be fought on two occasions before he becomes Hoarah Loux. Defeating this one grants you the spirit ashes to summon one of these yourself.

    I usually love these lists from demod but I gotta say I think you've missed the point entirely. the bosses are very clearly scaled around an order to which they are meant to be tackled. The bosses in southern limgrave for example are only intimidating if you've done limgrave proper and then went down right after without over upgrading overleveling your character. scaly misbegotten is by no means a difficult boss but of course he's gonna be laughably easy after having killed radahn and having so many levels under your belt he he's prob meant to be fought between soul level 10-20 maybe 15-25 if generous. The core problem with ranking an open world souls game is finding the exact perfectly scaled path through the world and tackling every boss in the order that they scale but nobody is going to do that because it's tedious which kind of just makes ranking them redundant in and of itself.

    It can be bought from the hermit merchant in the outskirts of Leyndall, near the outer wall battleground grace.
    You don’t have to torture yourself by tracking the assassins feet while it’s in the water, I’m also pretty sure the assassins grab attack cannot be tracked when he’s invisible since he lunges at you, so it’s hard to know when he does it, just get the sentry’s torch and hold it in your left hand while fighting him.

I would love to hear your thoughts on it, and it’s pretty doable in a short amount of time. If you don’t bother with any optional collectibles or the free dlc, it should really only take you 9-10 hours to complete the main game. If you want all the optional collectibles, the dlc, and all of the optional collectibles in the dlc, then you’re looking at 20+ hours. For the invisible assassins, including mini bosses you can use the Sentry's Torch. Even if you don't have the required stats it'll still show you them, and even if you two hand your right hand weapon. Same works for the puzzle before the haligtree

    There is a black knife assassin hidden behind a false wall in a catacomb in Liurnia. What made it so tough was the tiny ducking room they put you in against it. Your heart is racing the whole time as every second of battle he’s onto you, the intervals to heal or stupidly small

    There is a hidden cave in Caelid, just near the border to the place with all the dragons, the miniboss is straight up one of the hardest I faced so far. Just 3 cristalians, sounds easy enough, but of course they have to inflict scarlet rot. Adding the fact there is a spear, a dancer and a mage, doing this solo was one of my best accomplishment :’)

    Personally I've found that the Barricade Shield actually trivializes a lot of boss fights mini or otherwise, cause their attacks bounce off your shield like your attacks do when smacking a stone skin enemy or enemy shield, so guard counters for days and the guard boost from the skill means your stamina isn't taking as much damage and depending on your weapon damage and how much you damage the enemy stance with your guard counter it really makes a number of enemies super easy. Like the bloodhounds and pumpkin heads for instance are made really easy.

    I have a huge confession. I legitimately died to the soldier of godric and my first playthrough. I chalked it up to me actually expecting the game to be significantly different from a typical souls game considering sekiro was such an ingenious diversion of the soul's formula, but still very embarrassing.

    The legendary talisman is in the late game once the city is... y'know. You can come from the Forbidden Lands grace and go backwards into the city that way and you'll be greeted with not one, not two .. but THREE Putrid Tree Spirits, however only one is visible and the other two are waiting to ambush you underground. You could also run past them and treat yourself to the talisman that's neatly planted onto a branch. I was fortunate enough to get this on my first playthrough after exploring for a long time. I knew the city felt too empty to not have anything in it. I have since gotten all 42 achievements with 145 hours of playtime at the time of accomplishment.

    I had trouble with the Stonedigger troll because I was using a dual katana build. No magic. No strong weapons. The Runebear was one of the easiest for me and I have never fought a bear outside yet. No problems with the Watchdog, except the one that had 4 of those small statues with it. That one was the worst.

    Dunno if anyone has mentioned it, but with the Erdtree Watchdogs you can actually make them "malfunction" with crystal darts (shown by sparks appearing around their head), causing them to attack their allies, this makes the duo fight in particular a lot easier, as they basically kill each other
