What data parameters does Mevo+ provide?

Given my own questions to you recently it’s awesome that you did this. Thank you. As a follow up and extension of this video it would be great to see you actually test out the minimum requirements of short indoor mode- I.e is it best to go 7 and 9, 8 and 8 or doesn’t matter, and how does that compare directly to your tried and tested 7 and 10. I’d guess at the price there will be so many people picking these up for home use, working with minimum requirements and scaring themselves reading the forum feedback on short indoor. That could mean more views over time as people search for a trusted source and visible test :-) keep doing what you do!
From my testing minimum 9ft of flight is what you need for the most accurate. From this test 7ft or 8ft to ball does not matter, for me that is. I still had about 9' 6 inches of flight here even at 8ft Mevo+ to ball strike spot.
Golf Simulator Videos that’s awesome, really appreciate the intel. Flight scope I believe recommend 8 and 8 in short indoor, I love that you’re testing that and in practice and arriving at actually 7 and 9 is better. 7 and 9 loads of people including myself can do :-) really useful content.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos And that is what rules out the Mevo+ for many indoor set ups. Effectively you need a room with a minimum of 18-20 ft of length (9'6" of flight, 7 ft behind the ball and a little bit of space behind the screen). Any space shorter than that and you need Skytrak or if you have a lot of money GC Quad
Justin Stephenson i’m sure some people won’t have the space. But many people do. There are also people that have been happy with 7 feet behind the ball and only 8 feet of flight. They know that this is not optimal but working for some. Radar requires space, But also has a huge benefit of being able to be taken out doors and shine with superior accuracy etc. most simulator rooms are set up about 20 feet in length and it seems like a lot of people are utilizing it but obviously everyone doesn’t have the same space that will just always be the case. I currently use 7ft mevo+ to ball with 10ft ball to screen. My driver ball speed is higher 160-170mph so I wanted more distance to screen. When I had it shorter I actually had no reads on some drivers. Never had any issues with only the 7ft to mevo+ as you have it. Putting is still a challenge, I actually move it even closer to the mevo+ for it to work best. I estimate I end up putting with the ball only 6ft from the mevo+. I also tilt the unit to 11.8 degrees for simulation.
Adam Sandt Same setup here 7 and 10 works great. The Bets firmware I am testing drastically improves putting.
Might I suggest using your HD golf as a double check? Hit several shots then compare variances at different mevo plus distances

By moving the ball up, aren’t you making the distance from ball to net shorter? Thus introducing another variable? Shouldn’t you move the tracker back one foot instead? To keep the distance between ball and screen consistent?
The distance it travels is the same no matter what. This was after they did an update initially and they actually recommend full swings from 8 feet and putting from 7 feet. That’s right from the manufacture

Great video. Do you know the difference between indoor and short indoor, in terms of hitting the whole range of clubs? I noticed you setup as short indoor.
Has nothing to do with which club. It's the distance the ball is flying. Always use short indoor unless outside then use outdoor.
Have you tried drawing a dot on the golf ball using a metallic magic marker and compared it to the numbers with metallic stickers? That could be a solution for when you run out of the metallic stickers.

I’ve heard many people actually get more accurate spin readings without the dot. I don’t use it and it’s pretty accurate
What does 8ft do to putting? Should you have two dots on the mat one for marking a full swing and another for putting if you have enough space? My country club has a trackman league in the winter months and it has become apparent that wear on the ideal placement point by full shots has wreaked havoc with putting. It seems much less sensitive to placement on full shots vs putting.
Mark Moon You should only putt from 7ft as recommend. That is a specific distance for putting.
Interesting but 8 feet seems to work just as well. Pro v1X would most likely get you more spin if you desire more.

Great video. This is very helpful in deciding which launch monitor to buy. I have enough room behind for up to 8', but my set-up is offset with only 10' width, so I need to shift the launch monitor from a right handed setup to a left handed setup. I was wondering if you think moving the Mevo+ on a slide between 2 positions would work without any setup issues?
I want to say yes but the radar wants a clear view so not obstructions if on one side. I wish it was easy to test I would do it for you. It’s tough. If you have limited flight a side unit would be better then no worries at all. How far ball to screen? Thanks for watching
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Thanks for the reply. Ball to screen in my setup is 10 feet. I know in the simulator software for E6 or TGC has a setting to account for an offset setup. Can you tell me if there is are separate offset setup for right-handed players and a separate offset setup for left-handed players? For example, 2 feet to the right for righties and 2 feet to the left for lefties. I am on the fence with a near future purchase of a Mevo+ or a Skytrak. I appreciate all the videos you post to help someone like me make that decision.
You didn't keep the distance from the ball to the screen constant when you went from 7 feet to 8 feet. You lost 1 foot of distance to the screen on the 8 feet to Mevo plus.
Correct, but I still had about 9’ 6” and that should be plenty of flight. That was the point was just to test the hitting from 7 to 8ft.
Can you do a video explaining pc/ios requirements. Im real interested in the mevo plus. I have always been a pc person. I noticed the 5 included courses are ios only. (Bummer) also seems that is a poor business decision. But anyways
What specs are you running for pc on your e6 setup/ what ios device is best. Everyone does videos on the experience and how it works. But not many on what will actually run the simulator on the hardware side.
Karl Borman it actually makes sense for budget reasons to give everyone a low-cost entry-level solution. Then as people get confident and want to upgrade they can move to PC or a subscription on their iPad. The goal obviously is to keep the flight scope unit affordable got an entry-level price point if too much is included the price would be higher. They don’t own the software companies so they have to pay licensing. I'd like to see you hit driver in the fs apps then driver in e6 range and compare the numbers. I've tried an x3 and the numbers were correct for what I normally hit in the fs apps but 40 yards shorter in e6. Lots of people advised that's how far you hit but I'm a low handicap golfer and I know my distances on all clubs so be interested to see if you saw the same results with the mevo plus. Golf Simulator Videos doesn’t have to be side by side I just did the fs app and then looked at my distances was easy to spot the 40yard difference. I’m hoping it’s the older x3 device that caused that. That’s why I’m interested in the Mevo does the same thing. Thanks again
Thanks for the video. I'm anxiously awaiting my Mevo+, and this is helpful to ensure I have the proper setup. Question; what are your thoughts on ensuring that the Mevo+ is at the exact same height as your ball? Is there a big issue if it's 1" below? I don't have enough turf/mat space as of now, and I'm wondering if I'll need to remedy that or not.

That is bare minimum, they actually recommend 8ft and 8ft. Just depends on how you find the data. If it works for you then You are good. Thanks for watching
Is the minimum 8' stated requirement more for accurate putting dynamics? I don't really care about the putting features, I'm more concerned about accurate driver readings and distance gappings with my irons. The problem is my room is absolutely maxed out 15'5". In your opinion do you think I could get away with this? If so should I bias it more towards ball-to-screen (and at what ratio)? Really enjoy your content, thanks!
No 7’ is actually for putting. I do everything from 7ft with no issues. It is their recommendation if 7’ works for you use it 👍

hi jay sorry to bother u again but just a quick question my setup is going to be outdoor in a yard space i have got its going to be roughly 8ft to the net and 7 and 1/2 ft device too ball i'm going to be suing it on short indoor mode is this right?

what about using a lob wedge or sand wedge since your distance from the screen is 8 feet? is the net able to capture the ball ? Is the mevo plus accurate as well at this distance?
My distance is 10ft to the screen. I have been able to flop shots no problem.
Need 2 units going so they read the same shot obviously.
Every one else on this channel says any thing less than 10 foot gave horrible and very inconsistent results.
Can you use almost golf balls
I am beta testing .09 firmware that is addressing all putting. I can make 5ft putts no issue. I know plenty of people making 10ft putts even without the Beta upgrade so not sure why you insinuate "everyone" You can't use almost golf balls because this is actually reading the ball. Hi Jay is the alignment with a camera going to guarantee that the ball flight is correct? All shots seem to take off left of where they seem to hit the screen. I have done the camera alignment with FS Golf but for some reason e6 won't show up (camera is dark and can't see where it is aligned). I am just trying to determine how to get the alignment correct from monitor to ball to screen. Thanks for the videos.
I only use FS golf to align then force close and use e6 from there. Make sure you don’t have e6 set to offset or anything. Works great for me this way.

Can you cover the hardware compatible withe the mevo+ for simulation and range stats e.g projector, andoid or iOS, laptop iPad etc
It pretty much is very simple. iOS or PC, Android coming for FS apps. From there it is not up to Mevo for projector, or laptop etc. It is up to the software you are running or your setup.
What is the distance the Memo+ is from your back wall? Flightscope recommends 1’ away, but I’m wondering if that is required.
Do you ever get any misreads (It doesn't record a shot) when you are playing a course on E6? Specifically with Driver and woods?
Literally like 1 or 2 times out of hundreds and hundreds of shots. But those misses I think where chips I hit super low which made sense. Zero so far with driver or wood.
So I’m hitting into a net not a screen. I’m waiting on my mevo plus to arrive. I’m worried about hitting over the net with my wedges having it 8-9ft away from impact. Would it work ok with only 6ft from ball to net? I’m curious how tight you could actually scale it and still get accurate data.

I just got my mevo plus and was wondering if you use it while it’s plugged in to the charger. The battery does not last that long and I wasn’t sure if it will stay charged with it being plugged in the whole time.
roger whiting jr Yes mine is plugged in all of the time. There was a Firmware issue at one point in time where if you had it on then plugged it in it would not start charging but I think that has been fixed. Worst case plug it in then turn it on you’ll be fine

No difference on full swing. Set on 7.5 feet to hitting area and then move it back about 7-10 inches for putting. That has given me least amount of misreads on putting.

Yes the OEM minimum distance is 8 feet unit to ball and 8 feet ball to screen. Many people are operating with this recommended distance and are happy. Thanks for watching
