    I am impressed. The sub looks fantastic. I have a Polk audio amp that I got as a replacement amp from Polk. The amp works fine. It’s 2400 watts max and 1200 watts rms. I bought the same woofer. I’ve had it for about 7 years. Thanks for the idea.

    Great job! I bet that upgrade did make a big difference! Btw, the Rock Wool should actually work better than the quilt batting material. For filler, Bondo works great with MDF, I use it all the time. It smells a bit too but not so bad and it is really easy to sand.
    For your next upgrade you should consider building the LCR speakers, going DIY can get you a lot better sound quality than any of the popular brands.

That ultimax needs at lest another 400 watts for clean power and a demo is always a must because anyone can knock a box together but not everyone runs an ultimate o. 100watts so would be epic to hear and I know the mic will vlip butbus theatre and bass heads love it it sound mint through headphones or theatre because you still get the sub bass come through and the mic clipping is just part of the process. that Dayton is way better than what I have, I have a Jbl gt5 10" on a 700w dynamic power amp (each channel is 100w) the sub is a Dual voice coil and I'm using both coils its in a old box for a pioneer impp I have a 15" woofer and a 8" Sony subwoofer hooked up to a Sony STR-DH190 I used to have 2 gt5 10's but one randomly stopped working, the amp is hooked up to a battery in my room, and I'm charging a Interstate deep cycle battery, and I'm using a small Thunderbolt Magnum solar 12v battery

    that sub can take up to 1200 watts, that 100watt amp will be be able to get some good sound out of it but you can nearly double the output with an upgraded amp like the Yung SD500-6 or if you want a dsp with it then the Dayton Audio SPA500DSP

    Do think a ported box would get you lower bass?

    • @griffensander
      @griffensander  ปีที่แล้ว +3

  • @kovrcek
    @kovrcek ปีที่แล้ว

    How deep can it go, 20Hz? I think the amp is too weak to drive this properly but that might also depend on the sensitivity of the woofer. Can it pressurize the room?

    • @griffensander
      @griffensander  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Amp is definitely on the small side. This particular amp also has a low pass filter of around 40hz, which really cripples it. I’d like to get a more powerful DSP plate amp, which should let me tune it to around 20hz.

    • @kovrcek
      @kovrcek ปีที่แล้ว

      @@griffensander I have similar issue with transducers, my cheap aliexpress amp has max HP of 60Hz, which is sometimes really too much for them. And is going down to like 25-30Hz min. Would really love to somehow lower the slope 10-20Hz somehow. Was thinking of modifying it somehow myself but I'm no expert in this. Well winter is coming so plenty of time to figure it out on cold evenings lol

    Well done bro loved the build but that sub NEEDS at least a 500w amp 1000w preferably cuz it can take over 10,000w dynamic burst bro, pEked the bassgead put it in his car and on the dyno and ran it off 12000 watt amp for weeks on end and no problem.... just rattled his car to pieces, plus it will sound loads better with no or less distortion the higher up the wattage uou go amp wise... you will damage your amp too at a 1oo watts if you play to distortion all the while and if you ever say it's not loud and sounds like garbage it's not the speaker it's the week amp, it would sound night and day difference buddy like it would probably scare you for sure... enjoy the ride buddy cuz it's one of the best out there just make sure your kitchen cabinets are insured first b4 you get the 1000w plate amp. Start a go fund me cuz we will all donate man , bee real cool just to see the smile on ya face or eve. Just the joy and surprise in your voice... bass heavy all the way🔊🔊🔊😁🔊🔊🔊

    • @bitrage.
      @bitrage. 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @hhkk6155 yes, i understand the "audiophiles" need 20k gold speaker wire and all to ply vinyl... I'm in the 3d/Special effects industry myself, can't say I'm an audio expert, but 90% of cinema doesn't even get near the max dynamic range of a Wal-Mart subwoofer... If the amp/reciver can even push it.... Its fine if it's not your preference, but respect others preferences and/or questions...

    It’s not good to under power subwoofers from what I read this subwoofer is 600wrms and you paired it with a 100w subwoofer plate amp the reason it’s not good is because the amp will end up working harder which could end up causing the subwoofer to have clipped signal and essentially burning it up.
