Gabriel Suarez How do you know he cares.? and can you tell us what your definition of a celebrity is. ? Are you implying that we are all celebrites and that we are also human.
I do not need r "Retro Brand to tell me what is wrong in the world. .. as it is him.

Yep, can't hate the lib in that one. Loads of common sense, a very quick retort style to ridiculous attacks, explains accurately and with honesty, and doesn't claim at all to have all the answers nor even ability to do anything much himself, and instead encourages others a lot, noting small actions have proven to add up to real change.
I don't like the extremely risque side, however all the rest makes it tolerable.
      Definitely a fan.
Love it when he interrupts and hammers one of the mainstream interviewers to bits, and they wind up smiling and giving in to the truth, utterly defeated, with their ingrained and trained shell of lies completely destroyed.

The metaphor about noticing and pointing out a house on fire was perfect. Russell never fails to impress me. I feel sorry for him sometimes as he is portrayed in the media as tilting at windmills when I feel he is doing an admirable job at what he is trying to accomplish. It is simple and straightforward to me. Just get involved in your own life and in the world around you in any way you can. It gives me inspiration and hope. And that is good. Thanks Russell. Peace.

I think Russell Brand is a caring, passionate and introspective soul who sees the problems in the world and is trying to do his part to help mankind and its problems.
When God asks him at the end of his life , "what have you done with your life my son .....", Im certain that he will have lots to say about how he tried to help.
It is better to be part of the solution, than part of the problem.
Don't judge a man by the mistakes he might have made, but by how he tried to fix them and even those that even he himself might not even be responsible for.

I've been attempting to consume everything I can find on Russell Brand over the last few days, and I have to say that it's been so extremely relieving to finally hear someone speaking the truth about the trajectory of our society. He educates in a way that is not intimidating or exclusionary. I've ordered his book and am very much looking forward to reading it. This was a great interview, and the host was insightful and obviously does have great empathy for the the difficult war Russell is attempting to wage on our archaic political system and the transnational corporations which control it. It must be tiring, but I hope for nothing more than Russell to continue this quest. The only thing I found myself questioning when Russell spoke, is whether we really do need a a single heroic figure to rally behind, as well as a unified global movement. With the ecological destruction we're raining down, and the complete reliance of our minds on media for formulating opinions, I think a global movement initiated by someone with a feverish intellect and compassion for all people is exactly what we need. If it was dually grounded in the principals of separating money from politics and curbing the mass extinction engulfing the planet, our species just may find a path to an enjoyable sustainable existence.

This seems even better than the first time I saw it . Something's going on (in me ) : Maybe as I'm reading Russell's brilliant book and checking-out more and more of his vids I'm becoming more aware . Open to understanding the implications of what's being said and the possibilities that exist from moment to moment in my own life . This past year has been extremely positive for me , and that , I am sure , is very much to do with deciding to take Russell seriously , and listen to him . Thank you Russell - you've helped to revolutionize my life , and you've definitely made me happier . ♥

pacnite No this was a good interview.Neither party interrupted the other much.Sometimes you do have to interrupt. When Russell is interrupted he goes berserk and it is hard to get his point across.Good patient interviewer.

I somehow don't think leader of the world would be conducive to the more lateral society that he is spearheading! That said, if we did have to elect a leader of the world I would be inclined to choose him :)

Leaders are a bad idea. We need true democracy, not leaders.

    • @cj82-h1y

Leaders are fine, in the sense of people who take the lead, show initiative, or break out of the mold. Russel is essentially a leader, we all can be in our own way, which is probably more of what he's actually advocating. Rulers on the other hand... they're a different thing. And I agree 100% with Russel, the last thing we need is for people (even like him) to step up into the existing model to try to control it. The problem is that humans can't rule humans, but we can co-operate.

22:20 what does he mean? Is Russell Brand shellshocked or traumatized or something? Asks him if he's ok then he tries to kiss him on the mouth?

It's his clumsy attempt to regain his control,to take his imagined power back.
All the interviewer achieved was to make himself look at twat & show his lack of grace.

I absolutely think he can and does get thru to others when he speaks to the common persons. I am a common woman ie person, and I’m totally on board with his message or his feelings and thoughts on what real people are struggling with and the need for change and a return to community and having a say in what your community wants to achieve and for all people to come together creatively solving their own problems and doing what they feel is right instead waiting or wanting the government to do that for them cause that’s not ever going to happen. the government is beyond corrupt. There’s no rational reason to trust politicians or governments...

While he isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer Russel has a point. Hence, it is not a impossible task to make a utopian society with a vast majority of people happy and everyone with food, drink and a roof over their head with access to utilities (water, electricity, sewage, internet). It is just that a vast majority of people don't want to or can't be bothered to actually do anything that does more than just benefit themselves or those in direct contact with them.
There is a way to go about this, it is called the People's Senate. While I can't say if such an idea would work or not, it would give everyone equal ground and respect everyone each onto their own. You need this world to think in a similar fashion, even if they are running their own local neighbourhoods or towns/cities differently from another to have the common ground and move from there, cooperation in engineering, science, education, culture, society and all those little every day things. Rather than doing it for that silly little I OWE YOU paper that the government prints do it to benefit man kind. Even if it is cleaning the toilets or designing a space craft, you can be assured that you are doing your part to make the world a better place, no clean toilet, increased risk of cholera, meaning such people with advanced skills would die off. "Working class" skills are underrated and often looked on as "loser"/"failure" jobs. Those folk fill the positions that would otherwise mean public society crumbles, no people to serve you food in restaurants or pour you drinks behind a bar, or clean those super market urinals, you'd be left to do it yourself.
Requires a lot of thought, and a lot of logic & reason. It is, however, far form impossible to create a society that is ideal for almost everyone where even a minority has a say (what happened to the word Compromise?).
