Jonathan Lopez youre acting as though the hate towards the games are misguided, h4 took a massive turn story wise and with the artistic direction, and h5 was a game that went through so many changes in development that the finished result was a shell of what it could have been. People have been following the franchise for more than a decade when h5 came out, they have a right to be disappointed in the choices the company made and how they mishandled the series that they spent so long getting to know

I have to agree with DBG. I loved Halo 4. The story and the character-building are really good. I also really like Halo 5. Not as much as Halo 4, but the books Halo: New Blood and Bad Blood, for some reason, make me like Halo 5 even more. I think they help me get more comfortable with how things have moved on and changed.
Yeah I also liked Halo 5...it definitely would have been nice to have more MC though, but I don't get people's hatred of Locke. But I already liked Locke before the game came out because of Halo: Nightfall, so maybe thats why. Locke is a badass as well though, although not quite on MC's level...but who is? Maybe Arbiter....but no one else even comes close.
I hate Halo 5, especially since 343 expected us, a bunch of casual gamers, to read a dozen books to understand their new characters. Oh, and because of false advertising and microtransactions.
I absolutely loved Halo 4 when it released. The scene between Cortana & Chief, where she looks at the artificial sun on Requiem and talks about never knowing if it feels real; that scene is beautiful in its simplicity, showing the juxtaposition of Cortana accepting her own mortality and the humanity she will never know, against Chief's coping mechanism of performing a weapon's check as a comfort exercise to deal with the humanity he feels but doesn't understand. It drives home just how much of a broken individual the Chief is, and that even though we're watching the mental deterioration of Cortana, her condition is taking its toll on the Chief too. He just cannot process what he's feeling and reverts to one of the first things he would have been trained to do as a scared 6 year old boy, recently ripped from his loved ones and forced in to military service.
Quibble #42 deep man... I didn’t exactly like the whole “the player is the chief and he shouldn’t talk much or feel emotion because of that” thing that bungie made. you can’t just expect a man kidnapped at age 6 who’s fought wars, lost allies, and see worlds burn for years to just not feel anything at all, especially after loosing Cortana... he’s human we all feel something when shit hits the fan no matter how thick our skin is. I love the fact that 343 put flesh and blood into chief and I think they way they went about it was pretty darn good.
@@Psyantic1196 exactly - I think the reason Bungie made him like that was because Halo is old school - has been developed since the 90's and I guess up untill that point - main protagonists of video games/heros acted like " digital toy action figures" (duke nukem , doom guy ,b.j blazkowicz )- no personality / no weaknesses/ lack of emotion and feellings , badassary at 11/10 . @@littlegloom why in real life was so they could have Cortana back as a character, in the lore it was because a remnant of Cortana was on the didacts ship, and the ship jumped to a forerunner planet called genesis where she found the domain which gave her eternal life as an A.I. Except the thing is is that’s all explained in the books, there’s like no reference to it in the game
Fun fact: I'm pretty sure Didact's speech at the end was when he was on trial when he composed ancient humans during the war the Librarian talked about, his speech is his explanation from what I can gather.
Fun fact for you, Dee Bee. When MCC first came out, the scene where you stuffed a grenade in Didact had a glitch in the UI. Instead of it saying "Use LT to plant grenade," it said "Press RT to fire Machine Gun." This lasted years until 343 decide to fix the game after the release of Halo 5. So many people were confused, as the game was telling them to use the wrong button, and nothing was happening. It was hilarious.
Just like when Installation 04b appeared infront of Chief and Arbiter. Natural law of the Halo universe states that choir music will play in the presence of a Halo.

Halo 5’s multiplayer is canon, all the online you play is a simulation on the UNSC infinity. Your personal character is technically speaking training on the big ship
As is Halo 4's multiplayer. It's even mentioned in the Spartan Ops missions, that the Spartan IVs are running through wargames in the Infinity's training simulators.

In one of the trailers you can see the lower half of his face. You combine that with what you see in the legendary ending and you get a pretty good idea what he looks like.
I really love the final cutscene. Someone said it in another comment section, but for those Spartans, that must have been the equivalent of being a greek soldier and seeing Achilies stride past.
I love the ending so much. I freaking love the chief being respected and looked at as basically a living legend by the other Spartans. Seeing that stuff in cutscenes is so sick
I remember watching Dee Bee reacting to all the Halo trailers some time back and ever since, I’ve been waiting for his reaction to Halo4’s ending👌🏻 Now we are here.
I put off watching this for a year but I am so happy to hear that Halo 4 was your 2nd Favorite with Halo 2 being your Favorite. That's the exact way I felt, having played Halo since I was 3/4 starting with CE and continued with it for 20 years I can't describe how much I love Halo 4. It caught the feelings of CE and did so well as a story so I am glad you loved it.

Dr Mittens PhD I feel like I’m the only one who enjoyed the library on legendary. Besides the first part where you don’t have a shotgun I died I think 2-3 times. Now you want to know a hard mission... Truth and reconciliation. That mission is unfairly hard. I died about 30 times on the grav lift part and then in the hanger another 50 times. They have one health pack in that entire section and I got a checkpoint with 1 bar of health. Halo 2 is easier than that horrid mission
I'm happy that you get to go through this amazing series that I got to grow up with since the first one and waiting years for every release. The part that left me in awe was seeing the size comparison of the Spartan 2s and the Spartan 3s. Halo was the only reason I went with Xbox.

Honestly people who hated on Halo 4 came off as incredibly Elitist, and everyone else just jumped on the bandwagon to hate on it because it wasn't made by Bungie, the multiplayer had some issues, and there were definitely weapon balancing issues as well, Halo 5 however if I can put it into words without spoiling, is basically what the "Last Jedi" was to Star Wars, disrespects established characters in favor of propping up new ones usually at the expense of old ones, killing off characters they were building up usually in callous and unceremonious ways, completely dropping plot lines and plot point that were being built up in the previous game, while introducing new ones that make no sense at all. Basically it made anyone that got invested in Halo 4 and Spartan Ops feel like they wasted their time. I feel Dishonored wolf put things perfectly in his video on Halo 5 guardians.
I literally quit Halo because of Halo 4. 343 introduced so much Science Fantasy... and after having 5000+ round between 3 and Reach, I quit Halo 4 MP at level 34.....
Halo proves that with good writing, a main character that you don't EVER see his face, can have more depth and emotional connection to the player and audience than even some hollywood movies these days. This ending to this game got me every time. The pain you can hear in John, the way he moves, even without seeing his face.
The artstyle change for chiefs armor between 3 and 4 was explained through lore in the opening scene. Cortana rebuilt his armor with new tech and firmware, hence chiefs opening line "you've been busy" The armor was so changed and so unique the UNSC designated it 'Master Chiefs Mark VI Armor'. Also, just look at the size difference between the Spartan II's and the Spartan IV's, it's insane. However, and this is a personal taste thing, the armor art style changes between 4 and 5 was... Less than ideal...
This brings up another complaint with halo 5, spartan Locke is shown to be the same height as Palmer in halo 5 while in their suits, and at the end of halo 4, Palmer in full armor is like 2 feet smaller then Chief, and yet Locke is somehow the same height as Chief when they fight, wtf. And Cortanas armor change was lame, there's no crotch protection, like wtf Cortana.
@@fraughtmonster8 well as far as we can tell, Chiefs Mark VI was an expiremental Mark VII platform with things like the glove uploading an AI and nanobots that the limited Mark VII had... So, she could have.

I enjoyed it too. I like that when chief and cortana met in the book. He was concerned about whether she would put a mission first and she said she would do anything to complete it. I love this story. Cortana in Fall of Reach book is awsome.
Halo 4 is where I left off, years ago. Glad I let some time pass. I'm ready to pick up where I left off. This new look is so impressive! Especially Cortana!! Perhaps I need to go back a little. Yeah. Why pass on so much?
I never thought i would love this game more than any other installment in the series but it is so well directed, amazing new weapons and vehicles and i care more for the characters than in any other game. Halo 3 is a close second but 343i made a fantastic game. And yes, sprint must stay in!
I think halo 4’s final mission is my favorite. You start with a broadsword flying which is always awesome to do. But then towards the end your racing against time that you dont have. Your outnumbered low in ammo running around its just awesome! While “Arrival” is playing in the background which is probably one of my favorite pieces.
Halo 4 was the very first Halo game (and first game overall) I played on my old Xbox 360. I never really knew what was going on playing the campaign for the first time; I only had little knowledge from a friend. Looking back after playing all the other games (except Halo Wars 1 and 2), I find this campaign to be my second favorite, with Reach being the first. Thank you, 343i
You know I've been saying since day 1 Halo 4 was a really good game. I know a lot of people were hating on it because a new company had taken over and people were so in love with Bungie back then that they refused to acknowledge anything good about Halo 4. The dick-riding was immense. Overall Halo 4 has some of the best gameplay mechanics and weapon consistency compared to the other Halos, story wise Halo 4 is genuinely really interesting, the fact they brought an actual living forerunner into a Halo game was mesmerising, lastly the game looks incredible, the forerunner architect is beautiful and the landscapes too. A few things people aren't happy about: Prometheans (Guess what, Bungie introduced them) New forerunner architect (to each their own but I personally loved it) Multiplayer (Multiplayer isn't that different to Reach) To all the people who still dick-ride Bungie, look at the state of Destiny 1 and 2 and then look at Halo 4 and 5 and tell me which one you'd rather play. P.s. Halo 5 was also a good game no cap.
I enjoyed the multiplayer but it had so many bug issues and crashes. It was really bad. And even though I liked the multiplayer it was nowhere as good as the older games. I think sprint and the abilities made it less enjoyable for me. I have the same opinion for reach when it comes to multiplayer.
Subscribed my brother. Halo 4 is incredibly underrated. Lmao, at 1:13:20, bea hahah your reactions are a joy and priceless. So happy to watch another human experience the magic of Halo.
The reason people don't like sprint in Halo is because it messes up multiplayer. The maps in halo are designed for slow movement, and sprint throws a wrench in that type of map.

I believe that Halo 4 and 5 were good, now granted, they weren’t as good as the other games, but I feel as though people put too much hate on the games. I liked the two and constantly wonder why people hate it so much. Now, people say “ThEsToRyTeLlInGWaSBaD” for Halo 4, but I think people are just hating 343.
and know one thing you hateful bastards: If you hate Infinite, then it will be the LAST Halo game you get, so deal with it.
Jonathan Lopez youre acting as though the hate towards the games are misguided, h4 took a massive turn story wise and with the artistic direction, and h5 was a game that went through so many changes in development that the finished result was a shell of what it could have been. People have been following the franchise for more than a decade when h5 came out, they have a right to be disappointed in the choices the company made and how they mishandled the series that they spent so long getting to know
I had a fit when you didn’t pick up the hammer in the weapon room on the last level, but overall good lets play.

Cortana basically uses the same shit that the light bridges are made out of if anyone is confused by the ending

@Brother Kotello dont let her drive *again* -_-
I have to agree with DBG. I loved Halo 4. The story and the character-building are really good. I also really like Halo 5. Not as much as Halo 4, but the books Halo: New Blood and Bad Blood, for some reason, make me like Halo 5 even more. I think they help me get more comfortable with how things have moved on and changed.
Sadly I hated Halo 5. Whole game was a lesson in how to make scenes as unimpactful as possible.
SheredderZ you are a true halo fan dude
I hate Halo 5, especially since 343 expected us, a bunch of casual gamers, to read a dozen books to understand their new characters. Oh, and because of false advertising and microtransactions.
5 just felt hollow to me. Like Halo was published by ea or activision.
Beautiful comment
@@Psyantic1196 exactly - I think the reason Bungie made him like that was because Halo is old school - has been developed since the 90's and I guess up untill that point - main protagonists of video games/heros acted like " digital toy action figures" (duke nukem , doom guy ,b.j blazkowicz )- no personality / no weaknesses/ lack of emotion and feellings , badassary at 11/10 . It's not an opinion; it's straight fact
I agree but honestly I feel like it’s been dulled a bit by them kind of undoing it 5. It’s an insanely heart warming and sad moment but when you remember that it’ll be undone in the next game it kind of brings it down a bit. At least for me
@@fuzzygori11a57
why was it undone? i don't remember what happened in halo 5
Trying to justify Himself yes. Not sure if it got written into the forerunner novel trilogy but yeah.

Fun fact for you, Dee Bee.
When MCC first came out, the scene where you stuffed a grenade in Didact had a glitch in the UI. Instead of it saying "Use LT to plant grenade," it said "Press RT to fire Machine Gun." Honestly people who hated on Halo 4 came off as incredibly Elitist, and everyone else just jumped on the bandwagon to hate on it because it wasn't made by Bungie, the multiplayer had some issues, and there were definitely weapon balancing issues as well, Halo 5 however if I can put it into words without spoiling, is basically what the "Last Jedi" was to Star Wars, disrespects established characters in favor of propping up new ones usually at the expense of old ones, killing off characters they were building up usually in callous and unceremonious ways, completely dropping plot lines and plot point that were being built up in the previous game, while introducing new ones that make no sense at all. Basically it made anyone that got invested in Halo 4 and Spartan Ops feel like they wasted their time.

The artstyle change for chiefs armor between 3 and 4 was explained through lore in the opening scene. Cortana rebuilt his armor with new tech and firmware, hence chiefs opening line "you've been busy"
The armor was so changed and so unique the UNSC designated it 'Master Chiefs Mark VI Armor'.
Also, just look at the size difference between the Spartan II's and the Spartan IV's, it's insane.
However, and this is a personal taste thing, the armor art style changes between 4 and 5 was... Less than ideal...
Lmao Frank O Connor said cortana used “nanobots”....right....

A few things people aren't happy about:
Prometheans (Guess what, Bungie introduced them)
New forerunner architect (to each their own but I personally loved it)
Multiplayer (Multiplayer isn't that different to Reach)
To all the people who still dick-ride Bungie, look at the state of Destiny 1 and 2 and then look at Halo 4 and 5 and tell me which one you'd rather play.
P.s. Halo 5 was also a good game no cap.
RECON I wish I could like your comment twice.
I enjoyed the multiplayer but it had so many bug issues and crashes. It was really bad. And even though I liked the multiplayer it was nowhere as good as the older games. I think sprint and the abilities made it less enjoyable for me. I have the same opinion for reach when it comes to multiplayer.

The reason people don't like sprint in Halo is because it messes up multiplayer. The maps in halo are designed for slow movement, and sprint throws a wrench in that type of map.
