Congrats on beating legendary, it was such a fun series to watch! Not to be that guy, but i REALLY think you would get a lot out of going through and focusing on the cutscenes and dialogue more. It just felt like you were missing the first 5-10 seconds of many scenes and not listening to the in-game dialogue which I think took away from your understanding a bit. I thought the writing in the game was peak Halo and the tight-knit personal story was incredible for the characters. Again, really don't wanna be that guy because you were AMAZING, but I think this story deserves so much credit. Can't wait to watch your future installments :)

It just happened a lot more during this playthrough than previous games and the streams were very spaced out, especially since the first one was way back before christmas, so I completely understand why he feels this way. I think once he gets a better understanding of it all away from stream it will just make it even more hype for whatever DLC comes down the line

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Example: DeeBee attempting to melee Escharum in the boss fight.
I am a good player. I consider myself a good player. I solo'd every game on Legendary, including the pre-nerf Warden Eternals of Halo 5 (which I found far more difficult than even Halo 2),... and still this final boss fight for Halo Infinite was the hardest legendary thing I've ever done. I had less trouble with some LASO missions than this boss fight (I got caught with poor weapon choices for the final boss room and checkpointed in the open... damn you gravity hammer chieftan! The true final boss to Halo Infinite!) I cant wait to see how this plays out.
Man the last cutscene with Cortana rectifying her mistakes was a powerful one for us fans who have been here since combat evolved. And the music was soooooo good too Edit: also really loved the gameplay through the episodes
You just need to know that the more you play legendary mode the stronger you will get don't be scared about it. I personnaly finish all halo in Ltouca and this is totally unbelievable but so difficult
Just experienced the Legendary Ending for the first time myself, so the first thing I'm doing now is going back to see the last of your playthrough. But like wow. After beating that myself? Even as a Spartan who's been here for a long time, this game has broken my current understanding of the lore. In a good way. My mind is melted and I've never had this many questions since first experiencing Combat Evolved. And well done, Dee! That final boss fight was NOT easy holy heck.

The story will get better with time. Joesph staten was the cutscene lead for Halo CE and then moved to lead writer. Joesph was then put as project lead in Halo infinite but became the project lead mid development so the next Story content will most likely be 10 times better. Joe was also the project lead on Halo 3 ODST and helped during halo reach. Joe has worked on all the bungie Halo games. He quit bungie to work as lead project lead of Halo infinite with 343i.

Great Work! Fantastic on finishing this on Legendary. I completed this on Heroic and didnt want to do Legendary as i got really frustrated with Escheram and Harbinger fight. However, i actually died only 4-5 times each on Legendary simply because i knew the tactics by that stage. One bit on information, which was useful for me. If you find the door through which enemies come in for first two waves. Throw a dynamo in there and then camp (in that room as doors wont close) with an upgraded shield. Worked like charm for me.
One of the best Halo games in my opion. That ending is just perfect. Ill never forget my reaction to beating the game. I remember buying a second hand xbox series X just so i could get this game and running it with 4K. And that is very crazy that you beat this game in Legenday.

I'm not sure if anyone in chat told you when you asked, but the reason that Chief and the Weapon were gone for 3 days is because Forerunner's have this field they can apply to things that causes time to flow differently. Everything around that field transitions normally but inside the field time is either slowed down or sped up according to its necessity. They particularly had uses for such fields in places of mental clarity and prisons where they would subdue those who they felt could be redeemed if given time to reflect or if there were particular species or individuals who needed to be dealt with but the council hadn't the time to address them.
That timeskip could also work as the tie-in point of a DLC, methinks. As in, the two were actually doing stuff during those three days offscreen, we just don't see it here.
You really need to keep an eye on the motion tracker aka the radar on the bottom right corner of the screen. It helps you find enemies who are either hiding, above you, below you, or are trying to sneak up on you. Please try that for future halo games.

I don't know if you know Dee but halo infinite has a 10 year plan and already have dlc's confirmed and they're always doing updates via multiplayer and such so there is more to look forward for halo infinite further down the road
You know what would have been absolutely bad shit insane? When the weapon said the better question would be when are we and realize that chief went back in time with like 100k years to find atriox also be taken back in time(witch would be explained in the game) and fight the forerunners along with fighting atriox at the end and the flood throughout the campaign while you'd be allied with the promethean, that would have been insane story telling and an idea never seen before in a video game
Hey Dee if you're confused about the legendary ending offensive bias was the AI built to combat Mendicant bias who was corrupted by the flood's logic plague(very similar situation to the weapon and cortana) if you want more information I reccomend watching hiddenXperia's two videos, his initial reaction and his in depth breakdown.
Had a great time with those last missions, on mid-campaign I was struggling thinking I wouldn’t enjoy the game (had a bad time traveling without the wasp) but those boss fights were really epic, tedious but I loved it. This isn’t looking like the end of the campaign so hopefully we get more in the future!! ❤️
Oh yeah Offensive Bias, I think they mentioned him in the Halo Lengends(?) compilation you watched ages ago! He was made to fight Mendicant Bias! I honestly thought you were just a complete god, playing as well as you were on legendary the whole time. then found out it was heroic and realised it made so much more sense. well done though still very well played and proud of you for doing it on legendary all the way through, even if we didn't see it all (which is totally fine)
I think for story mode this wasn’t the worst way to end. It achieved setting the foundations for future projects. In Disney Star Wars the first movie was adequate but had many people uneasy, which led to a total shift in the sequel that absolutely broke the fanbase, then they endeavored to do a terrible job at damage control with the finale basically trying to to redo a whole trilogy as the last movie. We ended up with 3 movies that are disconnected in many ways; and with no easy way forward on future projects nor an appetite from a fanbase for any servings of shite. This however managed to avoid that. They did it by not entirely ignoring Halo 5’s story. Most of what didn’t work-Locke, Fireteam Osiris, weird pacing, etc-was dropped. Most of what was good-Cortana & Chief’s relationship, Chief’s humanity or lack thereof-were kept. They knew the Rogue Cortana story arc was a re-hash of Halo 4 (someone denying humans The Mantle) but the emotional aspects of it were not dispensable. So knock him out for half a year, skip the rogue Cortana bit, and have Weapon pry at Chief with questions giving us those hard-hitting scenes. The REAL trick is how do the writers pull off the same magic trick and get us to go wow? In other words, how do we kill Cortana again and make it impactful as it was in Halo 4? While Atriox and the Banished are shoehorned in (unless u played the spinoffs) they play their roles, even if the stakes feel lower. It was another touching goodbye for Cortana and a decent intro to the new team. Maybe they could’ve chosen a different name for Weapon but Microsoft will never let that name die now that it’s their literal AI so I’ll take it. The boss fights are still a weak point & villains are not compelling narratively. They should’ve introduced the Endless better or used them more often bc I can’t care to learn more of them, the design and naming of those Skimmers is little lame to me too. Yet 343i have been getting better at the Halo formula, and show they are trying to listen to the player feedback. At the end of 3 mainline installments, they have a story and characters they can work with and anticipation for the next chapter. So this game is an overall W….W in the chat lads and lasses

I was going to play on legendary due to me never beating a halo game on that difficulty. Heroic was rather easy in the other games but.... heroic almost broke me here and I was satisfied with ending there lol. Awesome job on that accomplishment.

Halo Infinite is in striking distance of the originally trilogy imo. I am encouraged seeing what 343 has been able to produce with this installment and the fact that they did an open world Halo as well as they did. The future is bright. Here's to our new Great Journey!
I’d argue that the only reasons it’s not closer is H5 screwed up a lot story wise for a lot of people. H4 was a bold step but H5 brought them down I’d say :) so glad infinite took them/us in a good direction

I honestly have a headcanon that The Weapon's name is Charlemagne. It still plays off the story of the swords Durandal, Cortana, Joyus, etc.

Hold melee

If you know the forerunner lore and terminals of halo, having offensive bias name drop has to be the best legendary ending.

Had a great time with those last missions, on mid-campaign I was struggling thinking I wouldn’t enjoy the game (had a bad time traveling without the wasp) but those boss fights were really epic, tedious but I loved it. This isn’t looking like the end of the campaign so hopefully we get more in the future!! ❤️

I honestly thought you were just a complete god, playing as well as you were on legendary the whole time. then found out it was heroic and realised it made so much more sense. well done though still very well played and proud of you for doing it on legendary all the way through, even if we didn't see it all (which is totally fine)

I think for story mode this wasn’t the worst way to end. It achieved setting the foundations for future projects. In Disney Star Wars the first movie was adequate but had many people uneasy, which led to a total shift in the sequel that absolutely broke the fanbase, then they endeavored to do a terrible job at damage control with the finale basically trying to to redo a whole trilogy as the last movie. We ended up with 3 movies that are disconnected in many ways; and with no easy way forward on future projects nor an appetite from a fanbase for any servings of shite.
This however managed to avoid that. They did it by not entirely ignoring Halo 5’s story. Most of what didn’t work-Locke, Fireteam Osiris, weird pacing, etc-was dropped. Most of what was good-Cortana & Chief’s relationship, Chief’s humanity or lack thereof-were kept. They knew the Rogue Cortana story arc was a re-hash of Halo 4 (someone denying humans The Mantle) but the emotional aspects of it were not dispensable. So knock him out for half a year, skip the rogue Cortana bit, and have Weapon pry at Chief with questions giving us those hard-hitting scenes. The REAL trick is how do the writers pull off the same magic trick and get us to go wow? In other words, how do we kill Cortana again and make it impactful as it was in Halo 4? While Atriox and the Banished are shoehorned in (unless u played the spinoffs) they play their roles, even if the stakes feel lower. It was another touching goodbye for Cortana and a decent intro to the new team. Maybe they could’ve chosen a different name for Weapon but Microsoft will never let that name die now that it’s their literal AI so I’ll take it.
The boss fights are still a weak point & villains are not compelling narratively. They should’ve introduced the Endless better or used them more often bc I can’t care to learn more of them, the design and naming of those Skimmers is little lame to me too. Yet 343i have been getting better at the Halo formula, and show they are trying to listen to the player feedback. At the end of 3 mainline installments, they have a story and characters they can work with and anticipation for the next chapter. So this game is an overall W….W in the chat lads and lasses

Okay ima be the first one to say this. Halo finally added a grav axe into the game which makes me wonder as to why no other brutes actually use this kind of weapon more than the grav hammer

I was going to play on legendary due to me never beating a halo game on that difficulty. Heroic was rather easy in the other games but.... heroic almost broke me here and I was satisfied with ending there lol. Awesome job on that accomplishment.

Halo Infinite is in striking distance of the originally trilogy imo. I am encouraged seeing what 343 has been able to produce with this installment and the fact that they did an open world Halo as well as they did. The future is bright. Here's to our new Great Journey!
I’d argue that the only reasons it’s not closer is H5 screwed up a lot story wise for a lot of people. H4 was a bold step but H5 brought them down I’d say :) so glad infinite took them/us in a good direction
