my favorite class of weapons are the Longswords,so efective in many situations,they dont have the biggest damage,but some times you just need eficiency.I learned so much with Pvp Skillz and his videos made me a much better pvp player,i love Dark Souls,and see your channel made me enjoy this game even more

Fume Sword is the best longsword in my experience, especially when buffed with dark. Just as fast as a normal longsword, with extra reach, higher damage, and a comparable move set to the Sun Sword. It's a fucking beast in PVP, almost too good.

Hey! I've recently got tired of my old melee/hex hybrid build and I am looking for something that can do good in pvp but would not require any magic. No weapon buffs no nothing. Do you have any advice on weapons for that? I do prefere faster weapons but I am pretty decent with Zweihander and the like too.

Great video :) On the monastary scimitar point, I hold it in my off hand and spam some parries with it at the beginning of the fight, which makes everyone suddenly go very defensive and more likely to make mistakes.

kcnik I do that same against spammers with my Great Club.Monstery users are usually stupid and don't realise that you can't parry everything.
I think we can all agree that the Key to the embedded is the best weapon in the game.

I use different weapons all the time but i do enjoy these a lot when i use them:
Murakumo, Butchers Knife, Longsword, Moonlight Greatsword, Great Club, Washing Pole...

Not a big pvp guy but subbed ur vids r great
For PvP:
1. Majestic Greatsword, Typical greatsword thrust and slash but with the amazing Artorias flips on the left hand with really strong hits. Very good weight of 9 and speed for its appearance. Although it requires good amount fth and int to use, for hexers and mundanes only probably.
2. Butcher's Knife, A nice but heavy (16 pounder) axe of pain. Usual sideways slash attacks but a useful tracking heavy jump attack, 2nd heavy spam but havent found use of it. Strength weapon with A scaling, and low dex requirement.
For PvE:
1. I find nothing to best the Mastadon Halberd, its got a weight of 16 like Butchers Knife but has a very high attacking rating of 410. I always find the halberd moveset to be best in PvE most of the time too.

My top six:
1: Orma and Reeve's greatshields. Great damage, catch most people off guard due to rarity, and the tracking on them is totally insane. Powerful in the hands of the capable.
2: Giant Warrior's Club
3: Greatsword
4: Any Scythe; Every one of their attacks pierce shields, and if you can get the sweet spot their damage is nice.
5: Stone Soldier Spear or Pike (it's a tie). That range is not to be taken lightly.
6: Sanctum Crossbow. The special move on it does massive damage when infused dark and catches a lot of people off guard in my experience.

Rimon Woldeab if you're talking about r1 ice rapier spammers, then yes, they aren't hard to kill, but a skilled rapier user that is still very tough...
cordis diee what do you mean by skilled? What i know at least it just the same attacks with this poking thing and that L2 Magic shot. How can you make with something that has no diffrent attacks skillfull?

The best weapon, in my opinion, is the Grym Greataxe +10, with 75 STR and 50 DEX, does about 700 per hit, and has a GUARENTEED Second hit if hit with the two handed R1. Although the weapon is extremely hard to use,it is also extreremly hard to parry, and it requires you to excell at changing lock/unlocked camera, and time your attacks perfectly, it destroys any full havel men, and destroys dex build, The best part is, the R2 attack ISN'T Parryable, And if used properly can always hit an opponent while rolling, dealing around 900, and on a dex character That's a large portion of their health, yesterday i went about 51/2 (Win/Loss) Duels with it at around 40m soul mem, i definitly reccomend trying it out if your a STR Character

I find it really easy to dodge, I've been seeing them recently in BoB arena. But the range and how slow it is makes it pretty easy.
Forgive me if this question is obvious, I'm pretty new to the game. When you upgrade these weapons, which path do you take? Are some better than others? Mundane, raw, etc...
It depends on the build you have (aka ur stats), check the dark souls 2 wiki to know in detail the difference between them. If you have 40 strength for example, you use a weapon that has good strength scaling, so you keep it uninfused. I advice you to read about them in wiki because it is a bit complicated in the beginning. Hope this helps.
I did very good playing with these items equipped:
Main hand: Chaos Blade, Ricard's Rapier
Off Hand: Crimson Parma, Sun Sword, Dragon Chime
Comes out to only 13 weight with so much utility its insane.
Pro Tip: Power stance the Ricard's Rapier with the sun sword and then wonder wtf stamina is. No parry in power stance with Ricard's tho, you need a basic rapier for that.
What armour r u using when u r in the other build
The manslayer has 150 counter and 230 base physical fully upgraded. It shreds as well, more so than the black steel.
How make the jumping attack and the break guard attack?

The uninfused Chaos Rapier is definitely on par with the Chaos blade, it has sick damage if you also use a fire resin on it(yes uninfused you can use fire resins on it!). I can easily get over 1k damage with its jump attacks. Also you can still do the pre-patch katana's fast running attack followed by heavy attacks by starting off with a rolling attack and then the heavy attacks. (it's perfect with the Chaos blade and blacksteel katana)
Another weapon that is actually better than the Greatsword Ultra greatsword is the Lost Sinner's sword if you are no sinner, it has much more damage (even more if infused) and weighs as much as some normal greatswords.
Honorable mentions would be the Mailbreaker for its versatility and Black flamestone dagger for its high speed damage and stunlocks. My personal favorite right now is the Bandit's knife, not for backstabs but rather for normal one handed light attacks. It's a beast.
I've never tried the Chaos Rapier, but you make it sound very good. It's max dmg would be in uninfused with pine resin or infused with a buff?
Great points, I played a bit with the chaos rapier but I have to try it more I guess.
Cinnahawk uninfused with pine resin. The flame weapon buff has been severely nerfed while the pine resin hasn't. With a ring of blades+2 and flyn's ring with the right vit stat you can get over 600AR with it (including the invisible AR of the resin).
I never realised that the resin is as strong as pre patch flame weapon. Isn't the percentage based buff from the flame weapon better? Great points indeed.
Rafahil Ok ty. I should try this out. I'm planning on making a pyro build with it and the Black Knight Greatsword. Since the BKGS can't be buffed with resin should I go flame infuse with flame weapon or uninfuse with flame weapon like in the video

Whats the best thing to riposte with post patch? Daggers do nothing on ripostes now and for some ass backwards reason my zwiehander is pretty much doing dagger-like damage. I use to only riposte for like 500 with it. Any ideas?

I know video was long time ago but just wanted to say i got a 1100 damage running attack on chaos blade infused counter with resonat weapon and leo ring against a full havel. I do usually level 400 pvp

im probaBLY one of the few guys who prefer the old knight hammer to the large club, it requires just 2 extra str to wield, but put it raw, and thas all the str you will ever need for most enemies in the game. grab the repair spell and youre pretty much set! an excelent fall back weapon for most builds.

2. Estoc

theKrinkan I always loved it's looks, and used it a lot pre nerd, still use it but does not have guranteed 2 hit combo's(it used to have 3 also) but I still like it.

Personally, I use the Heide knight straight sword. It has fairly decent damage, plus good chip damage, and has a nice moveset.

Which weapon would you guys suggest for a pyromancer? Im using Fire infused Rust sword/Scimitar with power stance. But the reach is bit small, but I really like the move set.

What's the reason you like solaire so much? I've met a lot of people who are pro solaire but i've never understood the strange obsession (not that you're obsessed with him, I just couldn't think of a better word...)with his character; I always found he was pretty useless.

Crypt Blacksword is ridiculously overpowered when its infused with dark. The delayed move swings absolutely punish early rollers. Also, when used with the ivory warrior ring, it destroys stamina and shield breaks like no other

How do you get the 3-hit combo off on gyrm/large warrior clubs? They always roll after the 2nd attack with seemingly any weapon I use.

What armor is that?
I prefer the FSS (Foot Soldier Sword) over the Sun sword. 25 poise damage vs 20 poise damage. Plus, the FSS is so light, meaning many hits.
I'd say that a couple weapons that can be tough to fight against are Syan's Halberd and Warped Sword. Syan's r1 has a sneakily wide hitbox and does lots of damage. Warped Sword has high damage and high counter. The curved sword 2h running attack seems to hit before the animation, which is tricky. You can predict and parry though.
jlushefski Ya they do hit before u c the animation a lot of a times. I love the warped sword, especially the high counter but I don't think it is that dangerous. Syan's Halberd is still dangerous but people stopped using it after the 2 nerfs.

Lightning Greatsword +10 on a 45/45/45 STR/FTH/DEX build has 690 AR, and with sunlight blade it can possibly one shot someone with a guard break or a riposte.

tbh, the grand lance or great lance, ( i forgot. ) but its by far the best pve wep on ds2, u just hide behind a shield, theres almost 0 risk to dying while still hitting for like around 1k.
I'm disappointed you didn't mention the Crypt Blacksword in your list. It can do over 700 Damage with 40 Str 10 Dex (Base Str and Dex requirements) and 30 of faith and intell. Although it's move set lacks he ability to get a 2 hit combo, with 60 faith and intell it's worth it.
Is the Demons great hammer the best weapon in the whole game ?

I was probably the only one who had strength build but got through NG and NG+ only using slash weapons. The Drangleic Sword at first, then the Mastodon Greatsword and the Black Knight Greatsword. I tried big weapons, but their stupid vertical attack never hits moving opponents or only hits one where enemies love swarming. And there are some with a vertical attack forward then a vertical attack backwards combo. What the heck is that? There is little point having such giant weapons if they only attack a two-feet wide area right in front of you.

I have used the Lost Sinner UGS on NG, +, and ++, and the moveset takes practice, I think that's universally accepted, but it's not all vertical. The 2HR1 and rolling 2HR1 are, but the rest have horizontal movements. Still, the rolling 2HR1>2HR1+2HR1 is practically a guaranteed 3 hit combo, and Catiryuges calculated as the most damage output in shortest time of any weapon. The key to using the sword is stay aggressive and constantly switch between one and two hand wielding, and use rolling attacks from both.
Also the Crypt Blacksword is VERY good at hitting people through rolls.

I agree with this list, especially with the black knight greatsword cause it's awesome and I use it all the time. It is really good for PvP with it's speed and reach and also the great damage it does. Only I think that the ultra greatsword and the club (position 6 and 5) are not very good for PvP cause it is really easy to dodge them. Besides that this list is very good.

Well, I just suck at all those big slow weapons. A lot easier for me are the faster ones like black knight gratsword. By the way you have great skill at all this pvp stuff and weapon weilding ;)
What about the Malfored skull i know it has 20 durability but if you upgrade it to max and then infuse it with anything (i infused it with dark because there isnt any shield that can be used affectivly vs dark) Needs only 50 strenght and can do 700 damage ...

Mate you are skilled, I only recently got into dark souls after it was released for free on Xbox but got hooked after I started getting better as I hated getting killed all the time when I started lol anyway I got into pvp after my mate [475] told me about dark souls 2 and I can't stop lol I'm no were near your skill lvl atm but I can hold my own in pvp, I love the backstep parry flame swathe then critical combo!
