    Awesome set of films here! I don’t know why, but that Troy box set is just calling my name, haha! Those Hammer double features look fantastic as well. I only have one but not any of the ones you showed. Definitely would like to find more. Thanks Neil!

      Hi Branden. Haha, with Troy perhaps you saw it say directors cut and it appeals to your fascination with getting movies with different cuts….Hammer films are all fun to explore, certainly not always good movies but always they have something endearing about them. Thanks for watching

    Hi Neil, I never cease to be amazed at your fantastic movie collection! The only two I have are The Audrey Hepburn collection and The Bette Davis silver screen Icons. Loved your Astaire and Rogers and Tennessee Williams sets! The Hammer Film Noir are very nice. But you shouldn't hold the sets right in front of you, perhaps over to the side when you read the titles. That is just so I can see you!!! Just picking on you, sort of! Thanks for another enjoyable video!

      Thanks, Lita. The Astaire/Rogers set is a really nice one….Haha, trust me I have saved you the horror of staring up my nostrils as I tilt my head back to read some of the small print from some of those sets. Glad you enjoyed, just a few sets to go that I couldn’t squeeze into this video

    Hi Neil, what an incredible and varied collection you have, these box sets are lovely, when I collected DVD’s I didn’t have any box sets as I never saw any for sale, it was all single film releases, or so it seemed (I had around 3500 DVD’s, I gave them to my daughter and around a year later she didn’t want them and threw them all away 😮) there are so many titles here that I haven’t heard of (shame on me 😂) wow they squeezed 20 movies onto 5 disc on the Spaghetti Westerns set. 50 movies on 12 discs with that 80’s movies from Mill Creek 😮 take care mate👍😃👍

      Hi Alan. Haha, yes Mill Creek really cram the titles into their sets. Not ones to get for a quality of print but they do manage to include some good obscure titles on occasion so if I find the sets very cheap, I pick them up…. Agh, that’s so painful to hear that your daughter threw that collection away. I hope they at least went to someone who wanted them or to a charity shop. I hope your time away has been good and good luck finishing off your shelving

    No collection is complete without Eraserhead! I have that Savage Cinema set. Lots of cool obscurities. Paul Robeson! A name I've always heard of, but I haven't seen any of his work. That Scorsese set has some of his best films. There are all kinds of Hammer box sets around, and I have some of them. LOVE Fred & Ginger!!

      Hi Mike. You’re on a roll watching these videos. Thank you! Yes, that Savage Cinema set has some good ones….Funny to think that Hammer actually released a couple of those Paul Robeson movies. Even if you haven’t seen his movies you have likely heard him sing Old Man River. Have a great weekend

    That's a wonderful Astaire/Rogers collection. I've had to piece mine together. I do have a few of the sets you showed. The Tennessee Williams set is one I will look for. I do have a few Mill Creek sets and there are some lesser-known titles and also some questionable transfers. It is a tradeoff as they are inexpensive. Take care.

    • @neilsmoviechannel3199

      Hi Randy. Thanks very much. Yes, the Astaire/Rogers set is a nice one….I definitely wouldn’t pay full price for those Mill Creek big sets because, as you say, a lot of the transfers aren’t too great but I have enjoyed some good finds on them, one example being a good western that I’ve never seen anywhere else, China 9 Liberty 37

    Great Movies as always. I always think I have a large collection at 2500 until I'm reminded of yours haha. Still need to see After hours just waiting on the Criterion sale. A bit Jealous of that Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers Set. Finally watched Young Frankenstein really enjoyed it. Audrey Hepburn is my all time Favorite Actress. That Horror Classics Is great too.

      @neilsmoviechannel3199  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. You have a sizeable collection also and I think the point is no matter how many we have, there are just so many more great films out there, we can’t collect them all. The Criterion edition of After Hours should be a good one although I’m happy enough with both laserdisc and dvd. The Astaire/Rogers set is certainly a good one if you enjoy their musicals. Young Frankenstein is a huge amount of fun and also really great production design. Hepburn was a sweetheart, always lighting up the screen. Have a good weekend

    I have all the icons sets that Columbia put out on DVD. Yes, the movies were good, but I got them mostly for the special features and the very rare Columbia comedy shorts that were never released in any other format.

    • @neilsmoviechannel3199
      @neilsmoviechannel3199  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks, Mike. Ah yes, some of these editions are great at including comedy shorts, but you have to pay attention to the special features to know they are there

      Thanks, Roy. Yes, Mill Creek are a funny one. They do tend to throw out a lot into one package and it’s definitely not all great quality but picking them up cheap is fun as there are certainly a few titles that are hard to come by as they haven’t had any other kind of release or restoration. For example, China 9 Liberty 37….a Monte Hellman western! With Jenny Agutter!! And Sam Peckinpah!!! That one is absolutely shouting out to be better known

    Hi Neil, Awesome multi packs and box sets.Loving those Horror sets.I do own that Savage Cinema Collection one and Drive in cult classic one.some little gems on those Mill Creeks even if they were bad quality.I Do own a a gigantic box they released I think it was called The Drive in Cinema collection or something it had hundreds of movies o something like 1500 I can’t quite remember exactly but it was huge.

    • @neilsmoviechannel3199
      @neilsmoviechannel3199  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, Deon. Thanks for watching. Yes, the Mill Creek sets are fun to come across. It takes forever to go through them all but so great when you come across a hidden gem. As I mentioned to someone else, I was amazed for example on a western set to come across China 9 Liberty 37, which not only was directed by Monte Hellman and starred Warren Oates, but it co-starred Jenny Agutter and Sam Peckinpah!! Such a movie definitely needs to be better known……Wow, that set you have sounds very impressive. I looked on eBay and saw an expensive one which had around 200 movies within the set. 1500 though, wow, you must have Mill Creeks entire output!

    • @deoncrawley-ec8hh
      @deoncrawley-ec8hh 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      lol I think I was dreaming with the 1500 lol It looks like it was the 200 set that came out with that awesome looking box but in my defence I do own nearly or those 50 pack ones 😜🤪😭😂

      @neilsmoviechannel3199  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@deoncrawley-ec8hh Haha….I was straining my eyes earlier to try and see what was on that 200 movie set. Some titles that overlap onto some of the sets I have but plenty more I’m not familiar with. I need to dedicate more time to going through them all as there may be more hidden gems, they are generally sets I just pick at every now and again.

    Hi Neil, you have some great sets in your collection. Do you find all these in thrift stores? I have a large collection as well and can't believe how many ripping classic I find in thrift stores. have you seen the original 'Gaslight' 1940 with Anton Walbrook yet? Enjoy your videos very much.

      Hi there. Thanks very much for returning to watch. Yes, the majority of what I have shown in this collection series are finds from thrift stores, or used dvd stores and some from community sale events. Some new purchases too and a small amount from eBay. I did find the 1940 Gaslight on TH-cam and have it saved to watch later, I just haven’t got to it yet but will do.

      Hi again. Just to let you know I did finally watch the 1940 Gaslight a couple of days ago. Thanks for encouraging me to watch. I think I preferred it to the 1944 version, great performances from Anton Walbrook and Diana Wynyard, and atmospheric direction. Thanks
