I think none of us can really imagine how much work goes into such an incedible piece of art! Do you know Brian if they are carved from one piece using the layers of a rough stone like in the Dreher carvings or are they in some way assembled together?
@@bluecapproductions Thank you for your answer. These works are truely remarkable. What great craftsmanship! I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the work you are doing for the mineral community and the impact your channel has on my daily life. I live in the Western part of Germany and to my knowledge there is no real mineral community around or maybe I just didn't find access to it... I don't have contact to other collectors. The only club in my area seemed to me like a closed community of old men who seemingly didn't want a younger man like me around them and most of the mineral shows don't provide a lot of material that is interesting for me. Thus my personal collection, your channel, mindat and the annual visit to the Munich Show basically constitute this hobby to me. Despite all my long-standing enthusiasm for this hobby I sometimes feel disconnected from the mineral world. Considering all this you have made my day so many times. I listen to 'Mineral Talks Live' when I am at work, when I drive long distances or when I'm working in my garden, most of the seasons multiple times. Every season of the 'What's Hot' program is like a treasure to me. I couldn't believe it when you loaded up a whole lot of them during the lockdown. That was more than generous of you and you can not imagine how happy I was. To sum it all up: You rock man! Thank you so much for all your work. Keep going and I wish you all the very best!
The 2nd jadeite carvings represents a common story in Chinese mythology"The three friends of winter" Also you can see there are lots of Icicle carvings as well. Its because in Chinese winter "The bamboo, the pine and the peach blossom are the ones which survives like the three friends who always are together at anything
