I feel like SquareEnix just desperately wants to milk the one Dontnod property that made any money for them, even if they have to bring in a different studio to do it. Dontnod has said repeatedly that they don't wanna do LiS sequels, they don't want to bring back Max/Chloe. But SE insisted on a prequel and sequel and those comics. I think it's funny how Dontnod and Square are failing with both approaches to recapture that original success.

It would be fun to play a reimagined pacman game. Like, imagine an open-world game where 4 ghosts pursue you constantly and they have different behaviors. So one just follows you (like in the "it follows"), the other tries to predict where you'll go next ect. But there are also survival mechanics, so you don't just hold "W" the whole time, sometimes you need to sleep and eat.

The art style appealed to the "artsy hipster" in everyone, and the story _looked_ like a time-traveling mystery trapped in a highschool soap opera. Sure, any youths still fondly remembering LiS probably remember it best for the lesbian coupling (and maybe a few side characters), but the vast majority of the audience was playing for a promise DONTNOD didn't keep. Of course, critics didn't realize this because DONTNOD appealed to the side of people that loves metaphoric storytelling. LiS tried to do something interesting, failed, and was rewarded. It's no surprise that DONTNOD keeps making similar mistakes.

Main character moves back to small hometown, discovers the pillar of the community is up to something, family member dies, indie guitar? The guy being the annoying brat on the polar express makes sense though each time I watch this! The train at the beginning was the train from that movie, all I'm waiting for is Tom Hanks popping onto the screen. Every time Adum references Nathan for you, I smile a little more, such a good show. This is what annoys me with Dontnod, Telltale games were amazing and actually made interesting games but they had too many IPs and went bankrupt as a result. Dontnod is just lazy and they have to make another Life is strange to make money.

I feel like the original LiS really was a lightening in a bottle situation that managed to get larger appeal, but then every game since has completely failed to improve or innovate or do anything different. Dontnod keeps saying they don't wanna keep milking LiS and they want to do new original projects but functionally they keep making the same boring ass game.

A thing has to be good on its own, though, not just because of representation. Companies like dontnod don't understand that. They think their shit is good because people love it, but people only love it because it's an oasis in a desert. Well... more like a dirty puddle in a desert.
Y'all talking representation, but I don't buy it. The first episode of LiS didn't feature homosexual couples, but still made a huge impression on people. The art style appealed to the "artsy hipster" in everyone, and the story _looked_ like a time-traveling mystery trapped in a highschool soap opera.
Sure, any youths still fondly remembering LiS probably remember it best for the lesbian coupling (and maybe a few side characters), but the vast majority of the audience was playing for a promise DONTNOD didn't keep. Of course, critics didn't realize this because DONTNOD appealed to the side of people that loves metaphoric storytelling.
LiS tried to do something interesting, failed, and was rewarded. It's no surprise that DONTNOD keeps making similar mistakes.
Okay so I’ve only seen these DontNod games through the lens of these edited videos, but isn’t this plot essentially the same as Life is Strange 3? Main character moves back to small hometown, discovers the pillar of the community is up to something, family member dies, indie guitar? For that matter, isn’t that the same plot as the one about the twins? For that matter, isn’t that the plot of the first game?

all these glitches are a REAL bad sign. If Life is Cringe 3 doesn't do well, thats it for this studio they will be shutting down. Unless theres some french tax law that keeps them afloat some how.
I wouldn't be surprised if they shut down but I would be sad knowing I would never again be blessed with another terrible Dontnod game.

The guy being the annoying brat on the polar express makes sense though each time I watch this! The train at the beginning was the train from that movie, all I'm waiting for is Tom Hanks popping onto the screen.

This is what annoys me with Dontnod, Telltale games were amazing and actually made interesting games but they had too many IPs and went bankrupt as a result. Dontnod is just lazy and they have to make another Life is strange to make money.

I understand shit like cyberpunk being broken because of how many variables those games have with how huge they can be( not excusing it, but I see how it could be difficult to foresee all the variables that could break the game).
