I am reading the comments here and I can't believe the amount of people like me, that can't travel anymore. You make so many people happy with these videos. Keep on truckin!!! Dee from chicago!!
Utah is a top state all round. Rough topography and changing scenescapes make a drive here one of the most interesting in the US. The wintery snow dust adds a nice touch.
Mountian Man Mike... I don't care how many times I've seen that area, I've always loved that drive from Denver going west to St. George, Utah and going east bound too, just beautiful scenery and lot of prettier than I-80 across Wyoming in my books! Happy trucking trails and stay safe!
Just what I needed. Beautiful scenery, relaxing drive and our Mountain Man Mike. Thankyou. I think you should buy another set of rims with the snow tyres. That way you can changed over anytime and not have to go to the tyre shop which would end up being a pain in the butt. Yes the money. The way I see it if you can swing it financially then do it. Money turned into a useable asset is heaps better and enjoyable. Your videos really can make a person's stressful day turn into a relaxing evening. ✌ xox
Loved you talking about the old paper log books. I was driving in the late 70s and early 80s and saved my log books. I like taking them out and taking a long slow walk down memory lane. I miss those days. The best part was if someone was rude or ticked you off, then you just get in the truck, go on down the road, and leave them behind. LOL!! Loved all the Mom and Pop restaurants, people I met while paying for fuel (had to go inside back then), and always loved all the scenery. That made up for problems at the scales with the rude officers. Stay safe out there!! Love and hugs to your grandbabies (just had another great-grandson born on the 12th! YIPPEEE!)
Beautiful scenery, the table tops are great memories, love it. Thanks for sharing your driving through. I bought my car when it was 1 year old. Love my car.
19:49 I believe mm108 is where the Greyhound bus drove off the road and crashed a few years back. Bad accident ! I live in Rifle, used to drive for DP Curtis out of Richfield. Been across that route many times. We hauled primarily sheet rock, and joint compound from the USG plant in Sigurd to the Denver area. Then deadheaded to Kansas City Mo. for paper rolls, back to Sigurd.
9:50- last year after a big storm there were several trucks spun out on that hill. Nasty slick. 9:25 Ghost Rock rest area. Named after that rock spire poking up. 30:55 the tree in the median with all the shoes hanging off it.
Mike, I used Pirelli “snow & ice” winter tires for a few seasons on my SUV. Never again! They were great on dry roads; light snow, and ice - but were useless on slush. Pretty much uncontrollable! Tread pattern was too fine and couldn’t move the slush out of the way fast enough, so they rode on top of it!
I believe you drive a Volvo. I want one to pull my 45 foot toy hauler. I hear they are the best as far as comfort. Nice to see that part of the country. I live in Alaska and don’t get down there often. Nice to ride along.
The West is Best~The landscape elevation variation is far greater in the west! MMMike lives in Colorado @ about 8300 ft elevation! Southward, Leadville, Colorado, an old mining town, is at +10,400 ft elevation on a flat high plain just east of turquoise lake, the continental divide, & Aspen! Deserts, Mtns, Rainforests, & More Natural Beauty than 2 eyes can ever see~exists in the West! No one can see it all!
Mike, it's always a pleasure to ride shotgun with you though Utah. I'm sure when I pop my clogs I'll find myself in an RV with my ham radio and fishing gear on board driving across that state. Then I'll know I'm in paradise. Drive safe
Humm... Looks like partner has the roadside divots pushed back to a respectful distance. On this highway. Highway 70 is a beautiful hiway too. VIVA Las Vegas !! Salinas is a pretty place. Not to snoody and not to plain. It's just right.
MtnManMike~another beautiful day for OTR hauling of cervesa! Excellent Monologue & shotgun ride! Trivia question: (Guess what the total people population of Vegas in 1900? They say only 30 humans then!) Thanks for shotgunner ride to Clark County! Be safe! Peace.
Hi Mike. Check Tire Rack for aftermarket wheels for your Winter tires. Recent subscriber I know you like to drive at night but these daylight vids are great to see some of the country I haven't seen before. And you sound like Woody Harrelson. Shiny side up.
@@usandthemx I ain't seen none traffic in any of his videos nor on the road trips I've taken, especially from San Antonio to El Paso where sometimes I didn't see any vehicles for a good 15 minutes at a time. If you're referring to inner city limits then of course there's tons of traffic.
it almost looks like they "Salt" the road out there and that fine dust is salt off the road. I'm from the Midwest and that's what the roads out there looked like. That is the best scenery ride through "Utah " I agree 100 times better then I-80 drive.
Mike, if you have to have a "sleep over" in your truck, may I suggest a couple of shortish videos to pass away the time, both available on U Tube , 1 WinterTrucking 2018/2019 vin Norway,Sweden, Finland and Denmark, Vol 2. = by "Slipses" 2. Descending Junkerdal in Northern Norway. Both videos are interesting in themselves, but it's the comments by both drivers which you'd find interesting, Inasmuch both of them confirm what you advocate when driving on snow, and the type of tyres they use. It's getting crowded on that shotgun bench, NOT that I'm complaining, I'm just curious , do you actually know how many of us are there?. I've got a feeling it'll be akin to the United Nations!!.
Good Day Mike ,great day for a run west bound on I 70 .That white dusty stuff sure is flying today .Here in Ohio you can taste the salt in it while driving ,dose that stuff get in the cab .Take Care, Be Safe . Peace
2:27; Maybe is the way we see it through the camera, but I don't believe that car was that close to you. Care to elaborate why that driver needed more distance in front of your rig although he/she was traveling much faster than you?
Isn't the rule that when you pass a vehicle on their left, that if you're outside review mirrors are adjusted properly that when you see the car on the right in the right side review it's safe to move over?
You can't drive over 8 hours straight. You must take a 30min break sometime within the 8 hours. You can only drive a total of 11 hours in a 14 hour window.
Just curious, you hate cars getting over "close " infront of you. But sometimes it looks like you get over pretty quick after passing a vehicle,i may be wrong, perceptions off lol
If you pull over for the night at a isolated stop have you ever had any people harass you or your truck trying to make your goods their goods ? What about other times ?
Take it easy on the V, and don't go too fast on the track....If you do run it at top speeds, change the atf, diff fluid, engine oil and brake pads, after operating at extreme speeds. Good luck!

AZ and UT are neck and neck. But I love taking my active 4 yr old to UT 5 NP's

Thanks for the ride along. It's a while since we been down that I-70 west. Can't travel anymore so enjoy your videos.
No gas for 100 miles... I really loved this stretch when I drove through it. Man, do I miss it. You're making me wanna go back, dude.

I agree 👍
scenery is awesome... snow capped mountains in the distance, blue skies with whispy high clouds....
Laid back from extensive back surgery. Great way to travel without leaving my bed! MMM, you are a joy! Thanks!
I live in Glenwood and love our area. Thanks for the ride!

Wide open spaces with interesting mountains in the distance. Southern Utah is very nice.
Beautiful scenery, the table tops are great memories, love it. Thanks for sharing your driving through. I bought my car when it was 1 year old. Love my car.
Beautiful drive mate awsum views thank you so much Jim and bernadette
Beautiful country. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for letting me ride along. Absolutely love the videos!
Thanks for another beautiful ride Mike, keep them coming and be safe out there.
Thanks Mike wow great scenery beautiful be safe peace!!!
Bonjour Mountain Man Mike. I was watching your other short video driving in the snow.
UDOT uses salt to de-ice and grit to de-slick. They will use potassium acetate in high ice areas. Cheers from Virgin, UT.
That is a cool stretch, 70 to the 15, but it was really a amazing drive when it was 2 lanes only. Before the inter-state

Your videos are a blessing brother-thank you!!!!!

Hi Mike : nice video, enjoyed a lot. Keep them coming always look forward to the next trip. Thank you. Edward
Awesome Scenery mang
Great ride Mike! Keep it up.

If you're a true shotgunner, then you'll have to wait till he stops! Lol!
Just awesome thanks bud stay safe bud 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇦
I do remember another video where you went through here and mentioned ghost rock. God, Utah is beautiful. Sure beats Vegas
He did mention it only a few days prior!
Vegas is on lockdown and the residents are protesting being a service industry I feel their pain.
Scenery is beautiful

You've got the dream job! Nothing more enjoyable & peaceful than driving throughout the USA.

WOW A Awesome Video Amazing View Thank You Mike
Firestone Winterforce is another excellent winter tire. Excellent on ice and deep snow
My late husband was a Trucker, and we had many happy runs together..... New area or not, I like repeats......
Triple M you find the nicest place to drive thru.
...the powder is from what ever form of deicing compound Utah uses to melt ice and snow. When it dries you get the powder leftover.
Salt from the mine in Redmond, North of Salina.
to bad there wasnt about two more feet of snow. would of made that nice landscape even more beautiful
Do not be surprised when they put a sheet counter on the TP and taxing by the sheet.

It amazes me how there are so few towns on this stretch of I-70.
Thanks for the video Brother ❤😍❤😍 love from Sweden Stockholm

If you stop on snow or mud back up some then you have pated track to start out on
Great video.
Love your videos!! just curious... what kind of camera do you use? Beautiful videos!!
Good Day Mike ,great day for a run west bound on I 70 .That white dusty stuff sure is flying today .Here in Ohio you can taste the salt in it while driving ,dose that stuff get in the cab .Take Care, Be Safe . Peace
Drive back & forth between Denver & GJ a lot. Occasionally make the run west to Vegas.
Mexican Overdrive! LMAO I'd never heard that before.
Nice camera what brand is it✨
2:25 that cut off was a close one . yikes ! a harrowing experience. glad you survived
Can you pls share what camera you use to film these vids? Thank you!
In Ontario Canada they started using beet juice on roads
Hola Hola!! Darn, thought I was the first here! Peace MMM!
Beautiful
I was told by a trucker to wait 50 to 100 yards before moving back in lane after passing depending on speed of truck
2:27; Maybe is the way we see it through the camera, but I don't believe that car was that close to you. Care to elaborate why that driver needed more distance in front of your rig although he/she was traveling much faster than you?
good driving

When r u going to start showing fishing vidios
A shout out to “the long range shooters of Utah” greetings from Western Australia.
Utah uses brine on their roads, they mix salt with water
On that stretch of road, they use salt from the salt mine at Redmond, just north of Salina. Utah has lots of salt.
The Earth really is flat!!! Wow!
thx!
Mike!...What Brand CB you run, and do you have a 10 meter radio?
are those Pinon Pine out there?
are those defrost wires or radio antenna wires around your winsheild
cool man mike
Beautiful countryside :) How many hours are you allowed to drive straight at a time?
You can't drive over 8 hours straight. You must take a 30min break sometime within the 8 hours. You can only drive a total of 11 hours in a 14 hour window.
thanks.... I don't know anything about trucking. Seems pretty hardcore but I love the videos :)
If there's a little curve in the road, you get to drive longer! LOL!
Winter finally hit lou,ky its 👉17° outside 🙄
Looks like salt on the road Mike. Thats what they use here in Pa. and we get that dust cloud
Just curious, you hate cars getting over "close " infront of you. But sometimes it looks like you get over pretty quick after passing a vehicle,i may be wrong, perceptions off lol
Why is it called semi?
I see speed limit is 80 can truckers do that
If you pull over for the night at a isolated stop have you ever had any people harass you or your truck trying to make your goods their goods ? What about other times ?
Nice
i dont know nuffin about e logs...can it really tell that guy was riding the line ( detect rumble strip vibes ? ) ???
"Someone who has never done something is telling someone how to do something" Sounds like The Pope.
Hi
They will never leave enough room.
I don’t it that close to you big trucks. No way. I give you guys all the room you need. I’ll get where I’m going but I’ll do it safely.
Why go anywhere near big cities when you can be in a place like this this?
👍👍
Take it easy on the V, and don't go too fast on the track....If you do run it at top speeds, change the atf, diff fluid, engine oil and brake pads, after operating at extreme speeds. Good luck!
What is the V? A Volvo? I missed something.
Looks like they put down calcium... like the do in NJ and the northeast
Brunson Powner
No more salt and calcium in Ct . Some kind of liquid deicers
They probably put brind down.. that’s a pretreatment
Discount tire carry’s then that is were I get mine
👍✌️🇺🇸!!
what is a "V"? lol
I would just about bet that they use salt on the roads there. What the heck, they get it real cheap. The Great Salt Lake.
