And 64, like previously...what is sinful, exactly, and what is unlawful, exactly? Please elaborate. And 57, common sense you'd think, but just in case you were a little uncertain about the issue for some reason, here it is written in black & white before you to be able to put your mind to rest as to whether it is okay, or not, to kill somebody. Or maybe a few, or indeed even many, somebodies. But even if you do - no matter the number of deceased because of you - 90 will come to the rescue and forgive you. Handy. But in the case of 40, 41, 42, perhaps you don't need forgiving at all for said 57. I guess it very much depends on the specific circumstances of the conflict in question, whether it's deemed a righteous one, or perhaps not. Perhaps I'd better not mention the ins and outs of the current situation in the Levant. And while I'm at it, why, in the commandments, was it not mentioned that it's a good thing to breathe? 2. Restrain Anger.. One of the first Hadith's I read was about Mohammed (pbuh) being angry with his followers. Is it so that messengers do not need to embody the lessons they were here to teach?
This is why I'm not religious. In part anyway. The 'rules', while generally good, contradict each other and are open to interpretation depending on the set of circumstances before you, so how can you, with any due reason, follow them as complete truths without question?
And as I've never seen or heard or felt anything to prove the existence of anything 'higher' ruling over us, I can't bring myself to spend my time believing that something invisible to us (in all respects) actually is.
Instead, I'll spend my hours being grateful for, and making the most of, this one life I do get, instead of spending them dreaming about some unproven afterlife in the sky, or else perhaps being reincarnated at some lucky point in the future.
And 83, walk on earth with humility...by then immediately proceeding to tell other people how to live their lives. Hmmm. And 86, so I presume this was written by someone who didn't happen to be homosexual. Oh well, his loss. And 89, is it okay for men to display their finery? Why are women not allowed to but men (I presume) are? Or perhaps men didn't have finery in the days this was written, only women, so didn't deem it worthy of a mention? And 87, tell me...what is right, exactly, and what is wrong, exactly? I guess God knows, but perhaps there wasn't enough time (or paper, papyrus, whatever) to write them all down in detail. And 64, like previously...what is sinful, exactly, and what is unlawful, exactly? Please elaborate.
And 57, common sense you'd think, but just in case you were a little uncertain about the issue for some reason, here it is written in black & white before you to be able to put your mind to rest as to whether it is okay, or not, to kill somebody. Or maybe a few, or indeed even many, somebodies. But even if you do - no matter the number of deceased because of you - 90 will come to the rescue and forgive you. Handy. But in the case of 40, 41, 42, perhaps you don't need forgiving at all for said 57. I guess it very much depends on the specific circumstances of the conflict in question, whether it's deemed a righteous one, or perhaps not. Perhaps I'd better not mention the ins and outs of the current situation in the Levant.
And while I'm at it, why, in the commandments, was it not mentioned that it's a good thing to breathe? Where I not told it was, I might think it were bad, and stop. But I guess it's so obvious an answer, it wasn't deemed worthy of inclusion...so completely unlike killing, which is such a moral confusion people must be told it's a bad thing, in case they, for some reason, think otherwise.
And 54, why??? But I guess a woman is only really there to support her husband & have his babies. And cook, and clean, etc. And 13, except when it comes to Allah of course! But fear not about this, my concerns are nothing specific or personal to Him. It's more a general philosophical issue I have with any, and all, magical in the sky deities.
Perhaps blame all this rationality and skepticism and cynicism - not to mention almost a complete lack of trust or respect for authority, God based or not - on being rather too logical and not enough - or at all really - faithful.
