one paper filter might not be enough to prevent rupturing if you're building a lot of pressure below. finer grind (or just a lot of fines) and/or larger dose will create more resistance and risk a rupture. a single paper may also cause some bypass as the metal screen has a gasket to prevent it.
It would have been nice if the basket still has that click into place sound even when using the mesh filte The wingnut gets too hot to touch and hold once you pour boiling water into it ...be careful
recommended brewing temperature is 89-95 C (192-203 F). we've never experienced the wingnut getting too hot to touch while brewing this way. try letting your water sit 1 min or so after boil (assuming you don't have a variable temperature kettle to target this lower range). feel free to write to our support team for more suggestions hello@weberworkshops.com
@@gtlover2011 the quality is in keeping with everything they do. It’s very high quality, engineered very well and beautifully designed. Works perfectly and it does brew differently. I was skeptical that it would be much different than a drip or pour over but it does deliver a different brew flavor profile. I’m glad I decided to get it.
@@MrAumbraThanks for the reply. I've been looking for this brewer since last year after I watched the TH-cam short. Not sure if it is their hunger marketing it seems impossible for me to get one which is quite disappointed.
time is relative to grind size and agitation. some recipes use a finer grind and prolonged agitation without a resting steep. some use medium grind size, minimal agitation and 3-5 min steeps while others use coarser grind and long steep upwards of 8-10 min (similar to cupping protocol).
I’m really interested in getting this beauty. I’m wondering if you might have any B-stock, demo units, or items that aren’t sellable that I could purchase at a discount? Thanks so much for considering my request!
at this time, we don't have a sales channel for that but perhaps end of year we might be able to offer limited quantities of open box and refurbished units
It's not a filter sandwich if it's two pieces of paper either side of a metal sandwich. A bacon sandwich isn't two slices of bacon with bread in the middle.
there will be another drop end of this week, and then every two weeks thereafter. be sure to sign up on the product page to be notified of the restock. thanks!
there are no other brewers that use this size filter to our knowledge. we sell packs of 300 for $15. we also offer replacement glass if you were to ever need one--just hit us up at hello@weberworkshops.com
I absolutely love this brewer and the aroma of the brew. Weber has done it again! Everything is thought out well and throughout the brewer.
comments like these fuel us the way coffee does you
I was skeptical at first, but ordered one and I am loving it!
Wouldn’t say that the metal filter is necessary. I just use two filter papers. Just one paper also works, two make for a cleaner cup.

Theoretically, can you mimic the hario switch brewer with the Bird?

Made in where? And how's the quality?

I’d love to hear some timings as well :)

@@WeberWorkshops Sign me in! I love this model, unfortunately as a student i can't afford this luxury :(((
I feel the cleaning is not as easy as the FP or most other drippers.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that is bothered by this
