Florida Highway Patrol truck tire and wheel inspection at Sneads weigh station on Interstate 10

During a Level 1 tractor-trailer inspection, FHP Trooper Bobby Simmons examines tires and wheels for possible safety violations. This year’s Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance International Roadcheck blitz takes place June 4-6. Tire and wheel violations made up 19.1 percent, or the second highest amount of overall out-of-service violations during last year’s blitz. Brake systems topped the list for OSS violations at 28.4 percent while brake adjustment issues accounted for the third highest amount of OSS violations at 16.3 percent.

Should keep making more of these videos. Drivers who know what to watch out for and small companies that due proper maintance dont have any issues being put oos at the weigh scales. No violations= cheaper insurance premium too. Stay safe work more save money win win win.

I am surprised this combination passed a DOT inspection. I used to work for CRST as mechanic for a very short time and they tried to push in my head that a DOT tractor inspection should take no more than 10-15 minutes, sign the form and let the truck go. No I learned over the years a lot of mechanics will now say oh it should only take 10 minutes or I can do it in 5 minutes and all my DOT's are correct, I doubt it out it.

I had no idea there were videos like these… not that I don’t want to drive a safe truck down the road but the ignorance of what to even look for or even know anything is even wrong is probably over 90% of violations handed out

Remenber what this officer said about tandem slider pins? quote " if there is two pins on this side then it should be two on the other." So genius. I could say even more about this ,for example if there is two double wheels on this side then it should be the same on the other side as well right?

Truck driver got unlucky beside annual you just roll onto the weight station and keep going this prob took at least an hour of wasted time
