Lifehack: tampons are an awesome and very cheap fire starter! Rip them apart, fluff them up and they light up by the tiniest spark. (If you’re in Europe: good to go, if you’re in North America, buy them or bring them without the bulky plastic applicators)
I'd love to get a double pad for some snuggles. A double overquilt may be in the cards, but we both hog blankets too much to share a quilt or sleeping bag. haha

Tried the wide+winter version and it's amazing but bulky and heavy (for my standards)...I own the regular+not winter version and I find it light, durable, comfortable and spacious enough for two. A good double overquilt that I would recommend is the Thermarest Vela, either the 20F or 30F. Not too expensive because the Hydrophobic Down fill is only 650 but still quite compressible and build quality is good.

I like the synthetic ones more because my feet sweat even when it is cold. I found the down ones don't save much in bulk or weight but cost a whole lot more and have the potential to perform less well.
Hey! I haven’t tried the synthetic booties but I own that down ones and absolutely love them!! They keep me warm and I personally don’t have issues with moisture. Just wanted to share!

They are! I really liked this one. It is a bit small for that size of tent, but I think it would be perfect more a smaller 1 or 2 person tipi. Love the folding design - makes it SO easy and quick to assemble.

Hey! Stephipoo is in fact my girlfriend. haha. There are a lot of sleeping bag systems where the mens and womens versions can zip together! That would be a good option. Another option is to have your own sleeping bags but then get a double quilt to go over top of both of you. Check out S2S for bags that zip together! bit.ly/3EHdV5O Our gear was pretty light, especially our sleep system! We also both pack pretty minimally for our clothing and have lightweight clothes. And like you said, only one night of food! I usually pack ~1kg of food per day.
In most areas, no. Anything with wood as fuel typically is banned along with campfires etc. I wasn't even allowed to use my tiny foldable solid fuel burner in WA, OR, or ID of this past year. Basically, alcohol/blended fuels ok. The way WA and Cali described it was: if you can turn it off with an adjuster, it's allowed.
My wife is the same. She loves being “cocooned” while I’m hanging limbs out haha. Folding stove is very nice. Steph is a cutie. Quite a keeper. You make such a great couple. I don’t think with the wind under the tent, carbon monoxide is a threat haha
Fold your chimney pipes at home carefully, and burn them in first... before going out...doing this for the first time out on the trail is why all your chimney's look like a wet joint driven over by a truck... all trashed up.....

@@JustinOutdoors I have to say im shocked. If that is the Gregory amber 60 backpack, isn't it 1.8kg and a 750ml bottle of wine is around 1.1/ 1.2kg, leaving around 8.7kg for everything else. good job if thats the case.
Complete failure at rolling that stove pipe...Never seen so many crinkles since I looked down this morning. You should have had more patience and used the corner roll first procedure, which when done with care always results in a crinkle free stove pipe. Oh, and I'm with Steph...Quilts suck!
Her pack is not fitted correctly, the load lifter straps should not pull the shoulder straps off the shoulders. It would be way more comfortable if the torso length was about an inch shorter, so the the strap rests on the shoulder.

Not good when you have to carry it! It weighs a whopping 2.2kg! My Titanium hot tent stove only weighs a maximum of 750g.

Putting large rocks on top of your tent stove can make a thermal battery that helps keep the tent warm longer into the night.
A tip from experience: ensure your rocks are dry! Any moisture in them WILL turn to steam and make the rocks EXPLODE!
3F UL gears are impressive. I just received my Lanshan 1 2021 version, I love it. Now I learn that they have that big Hot Tipi Tent! I want it too! :)
The tipi is MASSIVE but really well put together as well.

I haven't really come across a hot tent with a floor. You can get a half mesh inner for this one though.

If the tent has a snow skirt then put a few stones/rocks along the snow skirt and that might help with the draught.

I try as much as possible to minimize my waste and have compostable or recyclable waste. There are a lot of places I can improve though :(

Ya, she realized the right side load lifter was cranked while the left side was completely loose the next morning. All fixed :)
