For anyone wanting to fully embrace your exploration prowess, take up some of the ranger perks. You get a double jump and an ability that uses mana to give you a boost to your glider. Once you unlock the legendary glider with those talents, exploring the content is unbelievably smooth. You genuinely fly.
I have respecced so much now definitely progressing at 15%/ 30% of the game.
Trying to switch away from wands to a two hander double jump melee build since wands makes the game way too easy and click spammy
@@mranderson4001 Wand isn't even the broken build, wizard staff makes the game child-like, it's less than easy. The dark souls of easy. You get unlimited versions of spells and a talent that makes your crits from spells stun enemies. You get a spell called "Acid Bite" that does an initial blast and lays down a ground DOT and each tick of that can crit and also stun. Not to mention wizard builds get healing spells and has the only source of mana regen.
Been duoing it with a friend and he killed the final boss of EA with a few sprays of unlimited acid bite.

I just unlocked Double Jump and that skill literally changes the game for you - so many hard to get places become easily accessible.

120 hours in, I've finished all achievements but the building is addicting, trying out new builds, getting all the bis gear, discovering the world, game is so fun
I like the variety of gear and different stats. So many different playstyles.
when you are in the black rock areas, it is worth breaking the metal jars (everything) as they give great resources (metal bars, rare potions...ect)
I really like exploration in games. That's why i'm so hooked by enshrouded.

This game is an instant classic for me. Love everything about it. I just hope the content patches come in 3-4month intervals instead of 18-24months like valheim *cough* *cough*
Well the Devs said they expect to be in early access for at least a year. A roadmap would be sweet so we can see when the major content drops will be. I like to dip in and out of survival games and usually play after a new patch or version update.
I reached lvl 25 (the final one for now) in 40 h or so, beating like 3/4 of achievements and doing most of the quests. It's far from being an instant classic, but it may be. It has potential, for sure.
You wanna have both fire and ice wands at your disposal as well as a good melee weapon. Some enemies respond better to fire or ice, and the spiders or rats can be overwhelming without a fast melee weapon.
The first few hours of this game I really didn’t like. I was comparing it too much to Valheim. Once you beat the first boss and unlock the glider it really opens up and becomes its own fun thing
See, when the game “opened up” was when I realized it was all going to be more of the same and I was instantly bored with it. 🤷🏻♂️

Case anyone wonders. Different weapons have different damage types.
A fire wand will work against most undead or fell creatures really well, but get resisted by others. To whom lighting or ice damage is the main weakness. It can shave off like half or more of your damage. Similarly for melee weapons, blunt/slash/pierce etc etc most enemies are neutral to some damage weak to one and resistant to another.
Wolves for example resist frost damage, and are weak vs fire. and neutral to slash. So a 32 sword will do less damage then a 21 fire but much more then a 42 ice.

Do legendary wands exist? Level 25 and cant find better than the cool looking blazing wand in purple and the ice/shock one in purple.

Enshrouded is honestly so good and I'm glad big streamers are shining some light on it. It really checks a lot of boxes; RPG, good combat, class customization and meshing (you can do multi-classing), crafting items is instant (not refining). The world is big enough with so much to do that the wait time for refining is even just "Okay, I put all the ore in the furnace, i'm gonna go explore over here or do this quest while it cooks". The world itself is beautiful, the music is very Witcher a lot of the time, and there are a lot of cool armor and weapons in the game. I'm so hype for when they raise the level cap and release the snowy area.
People saying "oh it needs more npcs" brother it is a complete apocalypse scenario story-wise and early access to boot. Why would there be more npcs in a world that has basically ended dozens or hundreds of years ago in a sea of "shroud" that corrupts literally everything. And the npcs you do have give dozens of quests. And they will add more anyway.
Has the potential to be. Right now it is pretty bare but that’s fine for now since it’s EA. Wouldn’t say it checks all those boxes yet.

if you come to canada, come in like late june. this is when it not some how like +45 here, like in july and august some times. while also not being like -45 like we randomly get on the prairies in winter.
Staff's range is very long and although lacks in DPS compared to the wand it has a big advantage in range and multiple foes. And a useful tip for firball is you can use it to press walled buttons needed to uplocking doors.(some r tricky to reach with bow sometimes, aoe is needed)
Staff is to Mages what a Bow is to Rangers, Wand is to mages what a sword is to melee builds .....imo
There's one in a Sun Temple that I couldn't hit with magic or a bow, tried everything even crouching but it kept hitting the dumb gate, luckily there was a workaround for the room. Haven't come across another button that I couldn't hit with a bow.

Lacks in DPS? Wait for Eternal Acid/Fireball with Shroudweaver or Root Staff. You one tap Witches at lvl 30 xD

its amazing how much people are crying about this game, like you said its excellent for early access and is an AMAZING start to the game.
I own this game but trying to finish Palworld. A lot of interesting survival games this year. Palworld, enshrouded and nightingale are my top three, but going to wait on the reviews for nightingale. I hope AAA developers take notes from these games and do better, I'm about done with AAA games unless its actually good. Shits expensive and my time is also money.
Fire damage is fine, but thunder damage is king. Enemies with resistance to thunder are rare.
where do you find shock damage? i wanted to do a lighting caster / melee hybrid for shock dmg since i think its barb that has the shockwave talent. im only level 7 so idk if there are melee weps with shock dmg as well but the idea of it sounded really cool to me

its funny that in the last vid he was talking how games should be intuitive and rational when the wand literally has no penalty for using the base weapon. no stamina or mana penalty at all. 😑

With the wand situation early in the video I think running two wands could be a good option considering one is more defensive and one is more offensive and upgrading the ice wand gives buffs to defense could be. A good look
2 wands is important because of resistances and durability. if theyre resistant to 1 dmg type switch to the other.. if your wand breaks you have the other even if it does less dmg.
Enshrouded is the game i imagined as a kid. Lotr shit. Maybe add base fights and seige fights in the future. Or even a helms deep defence with friends

The building is the only redeeming feature this game has, the rest plays like a PS3 ARPG
yeah, i use the wand the most, doesn't really use mana, does great damage, got it really early in game (found several more, but none of them have been as good).
Overall though, Enshrouded is meh, for me.
It's not survival, in normal mode it's not particularly difficult, clearing poi's means little, loot is always no big deal.

There's a bunch of stuff they need to add for QOL. I'd like to see the ability to salvage chests and other items you create. It really sucks having to spend a bunch of valuable resources on small chests and then realizing it's all going to be wasted once you unlock medium and large chests. I'd also like to see the ability to sort items between chests. I'm kind of a neat freak and it really bothered me having to go through 4 small chests to make sure all my resin or salt was in the same chest.
Im 67 hours deep into this game myself and haven only seen 2/4 biomes so far. The building is SO good!
Don't want to be a downer here but only half the map is in the game right now. So take your time.

In 1/3 the way through with the large pikesmeade adventure area before I get the shroud upgrade that will open up more of the map 😊

The atmosphere, the game mechanics is so perfect in this game that I'm in awe. One thing I was wondering what makes this game to be categorized as "survival" more than WoW used to be. You loot, craft, buff and die to unexpected things. Just like WoW. If anything, if WoW2 would ever exist (won't) it should be like this, just different lore.

I agree about the chests should always function like the magic chests so you can craft straight from storage inventory even from the very start. Plus the magic chests are ugly.
I saw a guy rebuild Braelyn Bridge at the begginig of the game
Went from not really liking it to no lifing it for a week. Hitting the level cap hurt the fun a bit cus I think I hit it way earlier than I was supposed to. Spent most of the time on the east side of the map not gaining experience. Level cap should be 30 instead of 25. There's even monster levels at 30.
This is a slow drip game. Not for folks with fried attention spans from mobas or BRs.
I beat early access in about a week or so with 50-60 hours playtime. I really enjoyed it but the amount of materials is cumbersome. When the game is finished it will be seriously a problem. I like the inspiration from valheim but it is still very different. It's more of an action rpg with survival and building aspects. I would like it see a hard-core mode where you drop everything on death and easy mode where you drop nothing.
How does not liking a survival SIM, mean fried attention span?. This genre of games sucks , maybe expect Minecraft and breath of the wild. Dmc5, metal gear solid, cod and doom are more of my style of games

It's great with friends. Currently have a play through with a guy I play alot of survival games with and we're having a blast.
The one thing to be alert of is the fact that either one of your can progress the story so don't solo stuff. Go into with the mindset that you'll stick together.
I have a solo world with another character that I play at my own pace. Characters are free to hop into ANY game so you can bring stuff over to your coop game and vice versa.

If this game ran better I'd play it. Seems to be frame capped under 60. Doesn't feel like 60. Change setting from high to medium and runs the same. Controls are little janky especially jumping. Jump like 20 ft in one leap. They need to optimize it.

Why does he have stars above his weapons? My version of the game is on a private server and it doesnt' have icons over the weapons to indicate their levels.
It's a setting, "Show Rarity Icons" or something like that.

@MrRafagigapr I think its hard to understand due to some wording but I know of a few op builds that are unusual
melee is like 4/10 and cant kill some enemies including flying enemies and bosses , archers are like a 7/10 but the arrows are so hard to sustain since you shoot so many with multishot , mages are like 11/10 , you have 40+permanent hp regen per second , can use magic and dmg consumables to boost the wands and spells at same time , and wands use no ammo and deal insane dmg due to things like % double proj , crit procs , that deal splash based on int , single target procs based on int , mana recovery on hit and not to talk about a insane aura that scale with intelligence as a % and flat amount and even buffs just get a single 5% mana leech wand and every attacks allow you to cast a spell with the leech you have @@alwaysthirsty.
@@MrRafagigaprit does need a other pass but it's ok for their first attempt at it. Magic and Ranger seem to be very, very strong. Melee just heavily relies on parries.
I like the traditional stat system I just think ranged needs to be more risk Vs reward.
For goodness sake Asmon, the game has elemental damage. Certain enemies are weaker to certain elements. Hence why your *fire* wand does more damage than the ice one. Try using the fire bolt spell on the staff and it will do over a 100 damage

Do you mean how long it's been in development or how long until full release? The latter is vague but it was announces a year or so ago.
The early access period is said to last minimum 12 months.
Given game dev cycles on average are about 5 years, add in the dev created their own engine for this game that timeline could be about right.
I just wanted to comment about that guy who called this a soulless Unreal Engine asset flip. Not everyone knows what's what, but everyone has an opinion. The game uses an in-house engine that the developers built. It's called Holistic Engine. I don't think Unreal Engine could handle this much destruction and terraforming without being ridiculously expensive. Though it does have some serious LOD issues.

This game has me hooked. I've spent about 50 hours on it so far. I got into it after watching Asmon.
This game will load up on steamdeck but Ive been struggling to keep 30 fps inside my base ! Its not just that its a list of things but for right now I dont think its a great game for Steamdeck OLED. In a future update I may try it out again ! also note this game for whatever reason makes you reinstall the game everyupdate basically. 30gb updates are no good for steamdeck users.

I have infinite mana and just run around one shotting everything. Hate to say it but they might need to nerf it lol. Killed a few bosses in 4 seconds

i love enshrouded. i think theres a lot of comparisons to other games and to a degree thats fine, but why cant we just enjoy a game for what it is and stop comparing it to things that it isnt. I think its honestly a good game. When it comes to the wands vs staves, i think they are both very powerful. The wand has very good power and free to cast with somewhat low durability so its only limited by its short range and durability where the staff has much longer range but has cost of charges. even with the eternal spell (which are awesome) its balanced by the need for mana. There are some good builds around mana regen. I use both. I rock the staff for bigger enemies as an opener and supplement with the wand while waiting for mana and for smaller enemies. Some of the staff spells later in the game are awesome. Looking forward to more content. Always a pleasure watching your videos.

That's because there's a lot to dislike. For every great thing about the game there's two annoyances people don't like. Palworld is part of the reason it isn't doing well compared to others, but there's a reason that despite the voxels and amazing world it has a little more than a quarter of the max player count Valheim had at launch.

Palworld took the hype from the launch otherwise everyone would be playing enshrouded now.
Palworld hype will die down over time when people realise there is no endgame and likely won't be for a long time. Enshrouded has a progressive story and only half of the map is currently in the game. Enshrouded will outlive Palworld.
If valheim can keep a passionate fanbase when they only release major content once a year, enshrouded will be fine.
@@MrWiggz69 Here's a list of things I disliked about enshrouded in the first few hours I played. The animations are terrible, the UI is bad, your character looks like a dwarf, the building processes are convoluted and stupidly designed, you can only rotate structure pieces by 90 degrees, the enemy AI is very hit and miss and combat felt "light" and very hack n slash with no impact. All that said, it isn't a bad game. At least half of those problems are easy fixes and I'd say if none of the above bothers you it's a solid 7/10. I'd give the game a 6/10 personally.
@@wickian9571 Thats a weak dislike list considering half are graphics issues and this game destroys valhiem in that department. The building in this game is some of the best, you can rebuild iconic places from movies its so good. There are some awesome channels dedicated to it. They do need to work on some things like the combat and quests but this bitch just dropped and guarantee itll get more updates than Valhiem. We only have half the map open to us, let it cook. Palworld totally took its sail, it would have such a larger playbase if it didnt share the hype. Now people are just crowd mentality hating it listening to people who hate it SO much they smashed a 100 hours of gameplay in a week. I think people are so used to getting abused by early access games they cant even recognize one anymore. Valhiem over there still sitting in early access getting 1 update a year. Thats not what EA is supposed to be.
@@phyxion123 There's no denying Valheim development is almost non existent. Supposedly most of the team was moved to a new game team and only a skeleton crew was left to work on Valheim. However Valheim can be modded while Enshrouded uses a custom engine, and therefore can't be easily modded since tools to do so don't exist. A modded Valheim is a solid 9/10 gaming experience since it has very few flaws or bugs that haven't been filled or fixed(besides horrible multiplayer).
Even without mods? I played Valheim at launch as well and it played like a finished game. A simple one without a lot of mechanics sure, but the game felt polished. Enshrouded plays very much like an EA with a LOT of unpolished and filler things to make it playable. An example being Enshrouded doesn't even have a different animation for holding torches...
A lot of things just can't be compared though since Enshrouded is more of a sandbox ARPG than a survival game.
I can't get very far because I'm playing with a perma-death rule set, but I freaking love this game.

This game is so good man, I pretty much forgot about palworld as soon as I started playing Enshrouded with my friend
Not sure why people are complaining about the multiplayer, IMO it works really well apart from the fact that in side quests the progress isn't always shared so you need to make sure to let everyone open a chest before it gets looted for the completion. I guess if you share a server and play at different times without everyone being present then it causes some issues with missing out on quest xp and whatnot, but we always play together and also don't use the same characters on other saves
