The current top EVs in China has 600 plus miles range and most of the Taycan's range is under 300 miles. I wonder the premium we paid is for the car or just the Porsche badge. I've driven the Zeekr 001 FR while I was in Shanghai last year and everything feels more premium than the Taycan including the handling. I love Porsche and still have a 2021 911 in my house but EVs is just not Porsche's game.
I have a Taycan and I’ve heard through the dealership that some of the new features on the new generation 2025 model - will be pushed to the older generation cars. They are trying very hard to do so. Right now, I prefer the older version. The new on doesn’t look aggressive, however- as time goes by, we will all appreciate the newer one. It takes time to get used to the new look - either way, I believe it’s one of the sexiest cars out there. I still drool over mine daily!! Wouldn’t trade it for another car - depreciation and all!! I’m in!!! 🙌🏾
I also prefer the optics of the older generations. It doesnt seem aggressive but more elegant and organic to me. The front reminds me a bit of a Manta ray. It has some sort of natural Flow and beauty to it. Absolute revolutionary Design and so fitting for an electric sports car. Dream car.
Thanks for the video. Good specifics about the differences. My question is about the headlights. On the 2025 configurator there are lots of details about the optional HD-Matrix Design LED headlights. What about the standard headlights? Do the standard headlights auto-dim? Do the standard headlights aim a bit to the sides when you turn corners? What functionality in the US do you lose if you spec the standard headlights? Thanks again.
If they haven't significantly improved the operation of the software---and offered that software to the previous generation owners---then they are just being Porsche, ripping you off because they can. Profits before drivers should be their motto.
if the software inside is more responsive in the new taycan why they dont update this as a software update on the old taycan, i wish they could do this for my 21 taycan
Great and useful video! Thanks for that. Aren't many changes on the pcm, infotainment and passenger display also available for gen1 cars via update? 9:05

Great analysis of the changes. The better range, more power, the faster speed of re-charging all make for a trifecta of great improvements.
They took the only good thing the taycan had...the cheetah-ish front end ..Now its even MORE fking boredoom 😂
Nice video love that new color! Your Porsche passion alive and well. Thank you
🥰
I wish they would make the look closer to the original concept car Mission E, which was what sold me.
That’s why I got the white one with the mission E wheels. It’s the closest to the concept car
Well done PCW.
Thank you MR!
My 2022 has all these changes upgraded. The previous owner must of spent a bomb !!!
Wow congrats! Yes they must have really optioned the car!
Nice new changes I d buy one
🥰
Good work PCW, you have the best information for the Taycan. Will the software changes make it to the old models?
Thank you! Appreciate it! Yes some of these are set to come to the new models but not all of them 👍🏼

They haven't and seems like they will not do it either. So yes Porsche is being Porsche 🤷♂️
I can't seem to find the other videos that were referenced.
If you charge with a 200kw, 400v charger, are you still limited ro 150kw?
Yes, 150kW on 400v charger
Thank you Bill for replying to this! Yes exactly!
Haha we have a few Porsches in the family. Looked at the movie preview- was thinking hard WHICH CHINESE CARS ARE THESE - then red the Titel 😂
Blindness is not a crime
That fromt on that sport design package red looks way better than this new design which is almost boring!!

Don't they? I'm genuinely asking. I thought they would update it on oder cars?
@@clubbizarre they do receive new updates but they might not get the new infotainment:(
@@ThesGt so the passenger screen in "old" taycans to NOT get the ability to watch streaming services?
I’ll upgrade the day Porsche will give me a reasonable price for my current one… won’t happen.
did they fix battery degradation or nothing changed?
Great and useful video!
Thanks for that.

Nice video but please improve your sound I had to stop watching.
Previous model is way better looking than new one. I would buy new model and replace the new bumper and headlights, they look very cheap and stupid.
👍🏼
