    Also, I just have to give a huge shout out to Jamie for how much progress he's made in the last couple of years. He's gone from the guy who you knew was just going to screw up everything in a PIO challenge to the one who can either save it or clench the win in just a few years since you've started doing it and is now Chef level in a lot of ways. All the lads have come a long way but he really stands out for how much he's improved.

      @kaldo_kaldo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm kind of open-minded when it comes to food, but organ meat makes me sick (even if I don't know it's organ meat, so I don't think it's psychological). So I don't think I would be as eager to try a dish like the Chinese one here. There are also a few foods that I will forever refuse to try, like balut.

    • @DharkDemonBlade
      @DharkDemonBlade 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@kaldo_kaldo I too refuse to eat Balut due to knowing what it is. But as for the Chongqing chili soup, it's honestly so spicy, a lot of the more gamey or organy flavors are covered up. My favorite part of it is the tripe from the stomach and the duck blood, which has a much cleaner taste and is more springy than the same dish but made with pork blood.

    All the dishes looked delicious and I would be delighted to try them all. I would have picked Jamie's burrata and cherry tomatoes over the croissants even though they looked very good but I prefer savory over sweet but that's my own personal preference. I really enjoy these takeaways. It introduces me to other cultures and their food. I always learn something from these videos and for that I thank you.

    Great episode showing the guys' personalities while showcasing the food. The philosophy of "try something new and different" is great, and we should all be open to new cuisines and dishes. Having said that, we shouldn't feel _obligated_ to try something we feel is distasteful, simply because it's different. We have the privilege of choice.

    Could you turn a pass it on into a drag bingo or just bingo? Maybe next time James visits or another chef? The guys could have numbers with an ingredient under it and James/Chef picks a number out of a bag who ever gets that number has to get up and use it in the dish. Maybe the video could be a bit longer so the 3 normals and Ben could have 4 ingredients each and when your number is called is when you get up and cook. 10 or 15 mins for each ingredient.
    Thanks guys

    • @LaurenPedersentrian
      @LaurenPedersentrian 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      variation: not necessarily a pio but a challenge. each participant has a a bingo card of ingredients, and has to make a dish using five in a row to get a bingo. there's at least one odd ingredient in every possible bingo. then the dishes are compared.
