I wonder if Jeff and James have any animosity towards each other? It would make sense. I'd say in a few years all 4 will be back together. Billy is becoming more conscious of the true nature of reality and is seeing that reconciliation is a huge key to happiness.
@Zelda Morningstar No, because Jeff kinda took his job and then when they got back together, you couldn't just kick Jeff out. There was a dynamic between Billy and James, not sure if Jeff messes with that or if they are all cool and it works. This comment I left 3 years ago, its funny to see what i said then, really kinda a dumb comment.
@Zelda Morningstar m actually surprised that Jeff has lasted as long as he have with Billy. If gives credence to what you say about the angsty stuff leaving after you get older. I'm bummed that they could not work it out with D'Arcy
@Zelda Morningstar I agree totally, I was also in my teens when Jimmy got kicked out and Johnathan died. I was lucky to be at the Dec 14th show and the Jan 4th shows of the MCIS tour. Probably one of the best experiences of my life. Boy those were the good old days hehe, look at the mess thats going on now. Sigh...
This is amazing. I love BC and I appreciate his efforts with new music but the classics shit all over the new stuff. It's not even that the new stuff is bad. The older stuff is so strong.
+RearNakedCholo Even if the original line up got back together, I have some serious doubts they could make another classic album. I'd like to see them mount a comeback or something, I mean, if Fleetwood Mac can do it 3 times, why can't the pupmkins?
This isn't even the same song....it's a new version.......Man. Everything Billy said about his fans is true. You guys dropped them the second they evolved. You want them to sound the same forever. Refusal to adapt to change is usually the sign of depression..
I like this version of the song. However I miss the sound of the recorded album especially the vocals. I do understand singers lose their voices (Robert plant, hair metal bands, Roger daltry)
IF THE ORIGINAL GUNS N ROSES CAN REUNITE, THERES STILL HOPE FOR THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, NOW ALL WE NEED IS FOR STONE TEMPLE PILOTS TO CONTINUE ON, GREEN DAY, PEARL JAM, SOUNDGARDEN, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS TO COME BACK AND SOON EVERYTHING IN ROCK N ROLL WILL FALL INTO THE RIGHT PLACE :)
+sonic jet LiVE, Oasis, Black Crowes, Rage Against The Machine?? We are still waiting for your comeback reunions, please hurry up before its too late in 2016 and beyond.
James is not a terrible guitar player, he is close to the albums when they played live. Billy did track alot of the parts in the earlier days, but he was there to show James how to play the stuff/use the same effects as he did.
the other guitar player Jeff is not terrible at all, his tone is just not the same as the old albums, needs more fuzzy/wah sound and then it'd be closer to James. They need to bust out the old Digitech, and Eventide racks.
I've seen them so many times live that it's sick. Iha constantly fucked up, he was ALWAYS missing notes, and he was off time constantly. His solo album alone shows that he was not very good. Also, having talked to Billy Howedel of a Perfect Circle about it, he had to step by step teach Iha how to play because he'd barely knew how.. I love this band, but James should have been grateful to play period. He contributed nothing but his presence.
If this band had Darcy, Jimi and Jeff it would be solid. Also, BILLY'S tone doesn't sound the same either. As musicians we evolved. Same for Amp technology.
thanks for sharing ..very cool to hear these songs performed in a different way :)
phenomenal job capturing this. thanks so much for sharing
Billy is like pooping on the corner.
Spcherry84. Thank you!
Look at the fun that D'arcy is missing out on!?!?
Don't write a history you don't want to give up a future you can't have.
WHERES THE DISTORTION AND PHASER

Jeff wasnt too bad but did a little much
truth, sound needs more fuzz/wah vibe/glitchy 90's effect processing
It's great to see this ... but I agree, the lead guitarist has cleaned up Iha's original sound a bit too much for my taste.
agree, not bad but it is not Pumpkins tone. Needs more fuzz, wah, 90's DSP like the old digitech effects and eventide stuff.

I mean he is playing piano and James is playing acoustic with a chorus effect on it and you want him to use distortion? Damn bro.

That's an opinion not fact.
Jeff, quit trying to reinvent the wheel. Wtf was that intro?
Jeff needs to tighten up bad, hes all over the place

The lead guitarist was just awful in this. I bet James was wincing....
+Roy Dunn James is a terrible guitar player... do you people even Pumpkins??!
