Oh my gosh I just noticed something. If you go back and listen to the scene where they are fighting over the girl in manacles you can hear Omin trying to carefully caution Viari and Jim. Should have spoke up more but oh well.

I think they're actually at more of a risk here than they are in the live games. There have been two party member deaths here, versus one in the PAX shows.

This is up there with Aeofel's death. Both situations could've easily been avoided had people thought for a second, and both were pretty funny.

I know these were the early podcasts, but I am AMAZED at their lack of concern over audio quality. Like, they were still publishing this for an audience; it wasn't just for their own records!
...Doest Binwin have an everflowing tankard? He could have use it with the robot. Just saying.
You forget that they've reset their characters a few times during the switches from 4th to Next to 5th, played once a year for a while, and are mentioned to have sold off some stuff off-screen.

Scott said it best when he said "Awesome; Great; Omen is richer....." the whole aura around Omen is anti-fun, self-centered, and selfish ass that takes advantage of his friends instead of take care of his friends.
+Erin Powell It's called role playing. Since the very first episode of the first season it was decided that they would be a company of heroes that act as a company and he role plays the shit out of it. It would be super easy for him to just say "yeah I give all this imaginary money to my friends" and be done with it. Or he role plays this like crazy and has fun with it.
My opinion of Omen has changed since that post 1 year ago. He's slowly grown on me. In the beginning episodes, you don't have the attachment to the character to forgive the jerk "in character".
Guys, for the love of all that is adventure.
Please don't eat or drink into the microphone. Mics pick up every sound that is made in front of them. Bags opening, cans popping, etc is incredibly annoying to your listeners.
eating while talking is not only gross, but a BIG pet peeve of mine. And all the smacking while they try to eat. Man getting very turned off with this cast and their horrible table manners. NOT COOL GUYS!!!

I know what you mean, I wanted to punch my monitor.
This session is absolutely difficult to stomach. That men, when given the opportunity to create their own fantasy, choose to subjugate women, portray them as possessions, treasures, and prizes, feign kindness for romantic favor, and can laugh at it like it's not absolutely disrespectful and disgusting... If I were at that table I would have to stand up and walk away. I would not be able for a moment to believe that I am respected as an equal or that anything I said was taken as anything more than a puzzle for them to solve for a selfish end. I wouldn't be able to trust them with my own or my character's wellbeing, because their characters are on full display here at this table.
GTaichou I agree, the chauvinism is both offensive and disappointing. Although there is a certain amount of tongue in cheek here this is still very much a 'lads' game, which is strange given how Patrick and Chris (can't speak to the others) have conducted themselves in other media. I can only suppose that this is meant to be a parody of older sword and board type games, where the character's actions are deliberately ridiculous. This of course does not excuse or even explain the totally unnecessary elements of sexualized female slavery on the DM's side.

What goes on inside 'our' brains and what we bring to the table does not have to be the same thing, which I believe was the point. Besides, that is some epic level Read Thoughts you just cast there, to capture the proclivities of an entire gender.
