If you are hesitant to "replace" your hormones after menopause with hormone creams or pills, just know that it is entirely possible to get through peri-menopause and be happy and healthy in menopause WITHOUT taking hormones (however "natural" they supposedly are). It didn't feel right to me and I have now been menopausal for 5 years and am healthier and happier than the women I know who are getting into all the replacement hormones. Our bodies are amazing and I think they function best without monkeying with our natural hormones. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I'm speaking generally.
I found that drastically lowering my grain intake, eliminating processed foods, and increasing animal fats and proteins in my diet has helped me lose the pounds of fat (especially belly fat) I'd put on gradually during those first few years of menopause. Surprisingly, it also took care of the... dryness that I experienced for awhile. I still occasionally get hot flashes, but they are far less annoying than menstrual cramps so I really can't complain. My skin and hair haven't noticeably suffered from menopause yet either. I did start losing muscle and had to up my game from yoga and running to more weight lifting (with walking and some cardio), but using free weights several times per week has brought back what I'd lost and more. There's so much we can do to care for ourselves naturally that helps us age gracefully.
Over the past several months I've started experimenting with fasting (for both physical health and religious reasons) and am enjoying seeing how my body is responding. I have enjoyed much of the fasting information and tips on this channel, but am concerned about the less natural suggestions for dealing with the challenging parts of menopause. Just wanted to encourage others who might be concerned about menopause to try fasting and other healthy, natural changes first 😊💕

Great post!❤
Im with you. No way am I putting synthetic hormones in my body to fight a completely normal process my body has and will adapt to.
Instead I work hard at helping my body by nourishing it with good food and rest and exercise ratio. ❤
Gotta say Im suprised Dr mIndy is doing this with her body. But each to their own.
iTs just important to not feel pressured that these toxic chemicals are a must for menopause. I have had to stomp my feet with my no. More women need to speak up for themselves instead of just accepting the script and then dealing with the side effects and consequences of the drugs they been prescribed.
@@goldstar846 there are FDA approved bioidentical that are not synthetic, and are covered by insurance. For many women, myself included, it’s an incredible benefit to feeling well again!
@leahchase3039 that's wonderful im glad your finding success with your treatment. The point I'm making is we are pressured to take a substance created in a laboratory with no long term studies yet to know what they will really do to the body. Trying to alleviate menopause symptoms with premenopause hormones is trying to reverse it temporarily. And imo this is dangerous and unknown territory. It disturbs me how accepting women are to be guinea pigs. When menopause is normal...and we should be looking for ways to run effectively with no drugs. Herion is a natural substance too. But you wouldn't load it into your body.
But I enjoy having the conversation! We all in this life together ❤️
Thanks for sharing and kind of reaffirming what I really believe because our body like Dr. Mindy mostly said is smart and I like the way you did with fasting and workouts 🙏❤️
I know this has nothing really to do with fasting, but I went off HRT a few months ago, after being on it for around 7 years. A few symptoms started to come back, mainly a bit of irritability, but not anything like it used to be before I started HRT. I believe that my change into a fasting lifestyle and following Dr Mindy has helped with the symptoms not being as bad, but also another thing that I found, which I didn't know was a thing until I did some research on it, was that listening to music really helps. We went back old school and purchased a really good record player & my partner has mega records that he has collected since a teenager, I am 55 he is 65. So we have been dragging them out and pumping the music. It just lifts your moods & also makes doing housework a breeze, it has really really helped me on days where I feel like my brain and mood is teetering. I really recommend it.
💙
At 49, I'm knee deep in menopause. The worst is not the horrible symptoms, but people not understanding or empathising or trying to help, both at home and at work! My Ayurvedic doctor said to me, you can fight this transition or you can embrace it, if you do embrace it, there will be changes, if you release control, trying to go back in time, you will gain incredible depths of self-knowwledge, world knowledge, wisdom. I fast sometimes, eat mainly vegan or vegetarian and take herbal supplements to help me remain sane, clear minded, healthy. Why don't we talk about the positive gains from this period? In my case, a calmer approach to life, prioritising my health over everything else, incredible creativity,...
@@eirigh_suas thank you for your encouraging sharing. I am on this path while also on healing path to myself. Being always oriented to the world outside and rush, good mother, wife, worker, friend … now is time for me to be good enough to myself and slow down. I am “work in progress” but already see results after several years. It is tough to change my old wrong beliefs but I see that it frees some new joyful energy. I still have difficult days at times, usually first part of the day when my brain is recalibrating and I use BHRT creams, suplements, teas, walking to support but I hope this gets better as it did from September/October when I was hit by a low mood, crying, anxiety … probably drop in estrogen when ovaries stoped fully.
I am happy to have the chance to redirect my boat in a healthy direction!
You are really teaching for the post-menopausal gyals. Everything you are saying is important!
💙🙌
Lol😂. How blessed I am to stumbled upon you. I am a 54 years old woman. I have been so lost and confused with my moods and anxiety. My family, husband and daughters are looking at me like I’m crazy and lost it!!!!😂 so blessed to have you now.
It's amazing to learn about our bodies! and now you get to share that with your daughters 💙🎉 So glad you are here!
Im 56 and still having periods. I have missed a few months but the they started back up. Can't wait for them to stop.
😉
Dr. Mindy! I hope your menopause transition is the most difficult part of your transition. Everyone is different. I’m 60 and embracing a healthy and active lifestyle to the max. But the continuing decline of sex hormones and neurotransmitters is a daily struggle. Much love to you for keeping us on track!!
I am 8 years after ending my cycle, let me assure you the symptoms can go way beyond a year, I am only finding my footing now. I would also advise against the yam creams, they have been known to cause tumours. Whatever you use, avoid the lymph regions. I highly recommend activities like gardening or taking up a musical instrument; rather than extreme sports and activities and to realise it is a new life for you. It is very depressing trying to replay the life you had before menopause. Keep a sense of humour about it, things will come around. In hindsight it would have helped if the people in my life had understood what was going on hormonally instead of thinking I was losing my mind through that period.
My very active 80 year-old mother used yam creams 35 years ago, no tumours, and no menopause problems. Can you post the link to the scientific paper that shows that cancer connection? The only thing I have found in my research is that "perhaps" if you ALREADY have breast cancer, or uterine fibroids, it shouldn't be used...But I cannot find ANY scientific paper to corroborate this. It is VERY important to dig deeper and follow the money to know EXACTLY who funded any medical research , because if any research was funded by Big Pharma, then as with MANY funded research projects, there would be a definite conflict of interest, and deem the research results to be possibly a bunch of BS...So we don't want to be spreading misinformation, ok?? Can you post the link , please?
I'm not close to my menopause (hopefully), but am so incredible thankful for your work. Finally women cocentrate on women in a medical sense and we are not just a side product in the medical society. I'm very hopeful that in the future all your work is going to be visible and reachable for more women in even more countrys and languages. Thank you so much!!!!
OMG! Thank you!! You are the first woman to explain it just as I was experiencing it! Minus minimal night sweats. I will Subscribe and look forward to watching all your other videos to help me understand how to get back to normal. Just fasting like 18 hours my hot flashes have almost gone away! Struggling with increasing my fast length but going to continue to work on it.
I love that you emphasize taking care of the brain.
Omg this is what I’ve been reiterating to my male friends regarding working out, dieting, fasting and eating in general for women. We go through some shit, it’s not fair😩
I was post menopausal at age 44, struggled for years trying to get past all the symptoms. I am now 53 and wish I had Mindy to guide me back then. Thank you for this video. As a post menopausal woman, your direction and advice has been a game changer!

Thank you so much for everything, Mindy. I don't have a mom to turn to and it's so great to listen to someone who advises about this topic. I'm excited for your next book!
I am a post menopause woman and I have been following her for a year and doing her system. And it has worked fabulous emotionally physically. I just gotta stay on track more to lose more weight. Dr Mindy. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING FOR US YOU ARE AMAZING ❤
YOU are doing it!! 🥳 🙌
I'm seven months into the menopause year, so it's so good to hear you share on this. Just found you after a colleague recommended you, as I don't want to do HRT. Thank you so much Dr Mindy.
💙🙌
I’m so glad you mentioned having problems with HRT. I also have low progesterone. I tried BHRT a few years ago and had the worst anxiety, irritability and weepiness. I stopped taking the BHrT but now I might have to see a practitioner who can help me get the dose right for me.
💙
I wish I had known all this 13 yrs ago when I went through menopause! So glad we are talking about this to help our sisters, daughters and younger women friends be better aware and prepared. 13 yrs without a cycle and still having hot flashes. Finally realized I need to get super clean with my products, eating cleaner and now want to build muscle strength. Just got exercise bands and committed to walking after each meal. My last year in my 50’s is focused on healthy mind and body.
Hi there! 📚💙

What a fantastic video! I'm 53 and I'm going through what you are going through. I'm doing my first 36 hours fast at the moment :)
💙
I am 52 and haven't had a period for about 1 year. I am on bioidentical HRT troche, but still very irritable, anxious at times, and when I fast for 20 hours, I am starving when dinner time comes. I was planning on doing the 3 day fast next week but I am nervous. Any suggestions about the starving at dinner?
Strongly recommend HRT. I suffered 2 years post-menopausal not even realizing my worst symptoms of increasingly lower stress tolerance of any kind, increasing allergies, increasing body/muscle/joint pain, and anxiety/depression/overwhelm all the time. Absolutely have lost muscle tone and skin tone so insanely fast.
During perimenopause, I could not tolerate estrogen creams due to migraines, but I did ok with progesterone for improving sleep. I was NEVER OFFERED an alternative form of estrogen to try which would not be uneven dosing like a cream! The patch is the gold standard for evenness of dosing and incredibly safe I have since found out.
Unfortunately, ketogenic diet and IF was never enough for me. It only drove my cortisol through the roof. But I think it’s a great add-on. Possibly essential.
I have gone on a low dose estrogen patch now in addition to the progesterone (all bioidentical, FDA approved, covered by insurance). My sleep is finally improving, no migraine spikes, and lowering muscle pain. (Still on a ketogenic diet and fasting when my body wants to. Still need to improve exercise.)
I am post-menopausal, age 62, will NEVER take HRT, and have found going carnivore cleared up almost all of the symptoms you mentioned, although I've never had night sweats that are talked about often... Sleep like a baby... My mother just turned 80, and the only thing she tried for menopause 35 years ago was some natural progesterone cream for a short time, then some chaste tree and wild yam tinctures, other than that she has been mostly carnivore and anything else she puts into her body is certified organic, lots of Vitamin D and magnesium, tissue salts, plus a glass of red wine daily with her dinner. 🙂 I strongly recommend trying carnivore.
@@tigerspiritjourney been carnivore already for a while, and it absolutely has not resolved any of my symptoms except helping with fatigue. I know it helps some, and I believe it’s great for health for many and very supportive for hormone and general health, but it didn’t work for any of my hormonal concerns. I’m glad you got relief. For me, the estrogen patch is an absolute godsend. And there are many HRT options out there which are SAFE and protective for women’s bodies. It turns out maintaining minimal levels of estrogen is critical for bone, brain and heart health.
Dr. Mindy thank you for this video today. I will be turning 53 in March. I’ve watched this video twice just so I don’t miss anything. I have also done the menopause reset and followed everything in your book. I’m speaking with my health coach this week to start bio identical. Thank you for the updated information.
🙌💙 thanks for watching! Cheering you on 🥳
I'm 62. I had a partial hysterectomy at 40
So I haven't had a period since then
I still have hot flashes and night sweats
BUT since I started fasting and cleaned up my diet and cosmetics and body care, I haven't had any symptoms since!
Thank you mindy!
I'm glad to hear that, it's your hard work and persistence that made it happen. Keep it up! 🙌💙
Thank you for all of these videos! I’ve read Fast Like a Girl and plan to read The Menopause Reset soon. I’m a 46 year old wife and mother of 8 and it’s time to do the work to be healthier and not let perimenopause rule me!! It has sapped my energy and zest for life and also included 4 miscarriages in the past five years. I don’t want to lose anymore babies! I’m currently doing a 2 week carnivore detox along with fasting in my power phase and I’m feeling better already! More energy, more positivity, and more productivity. I do have a request. I love that you talk about the importance of sharing what is going on with us with our loved ones. But it’s hard to explain succinctly and without all the emotion 🤪. Could you please make a 10 minute video to the men in the lives of a perimenopausal woman, explaining what is happening and how they can be supportive? Thanks for all you do. Can’t wait for the cookbook!!
I’m 58 Dr Mindy and I believe I have moved past menopausal symptoms. Yes I went through incredibly difficult time 2020, 2021, 2022.
2023 & 2024 is better especially now. I never looked into HRT.
I found myself fasting more in that first year of not having a cycle and noticing that I have leaned more into eating protein. I do crave carbs because of low progesterone so I do have them.
Yes occasionally even pizza 🍕 😊but that’s more recently because it’s absolutely freezing in Melbourne Australia right now.
🙌🎉🎉
Mindy, could you please help me, i am in my post menopause, and intermittent fasting 16:8 i am not able to lose weight.
Good day, Doctor.
I’m still new to intermittent fasting, and your video has been very helpful. I’m 43 years old and have been in menopause for 7 years. At age 32, I had a hysterectomy, and at 35, I had my ovaries removed due to early-stage cancer.
I was prescribed Estradot 50mg, but after a year, I decided to stop it because my energy levels were low, my hair was dry, my skin was dull, and I had mood swings. It was the best decision for me. For the past 6 years, I’ve been taking 1000mg of Evening Primrose daily. My skin is still very dry, so I use jojoba oil and body lotion daily.
My biggest challenge now is my weight, as I’m currently overweight. I’ve extended my fasting window to 20:4, but I understand that OMAD (One Meal A Day) might not be the best approach. I’m struggling with counting calories. According to Dr. Kelly Stegan, I should be consuming 1700 calories per day, but I’m only able to reach about 800-900 kJ per day.
Do you have a video where you explain calorie intake?
I'm 52, haven't had a period in 2-3 years. My body is now being soooo unkind to me! Chronic pain, jowls, etc. Am starting a carnivore diet, hoping to balance hormones, stop pain, feel better over-all!
🙌
Carnivore is great for that!! Push through the first hard 2-3 weeks, then it will be better!!
Thank you Dr. Mindy for this very important talk I’ve been waiting for💕 Much appreciated 🙏🏻
💙🙏
I have been taking Soy Isoflavones, Magnesium Glycinate and Vitamin K2 at night. Not only I got rid of my 'hot flashes' but my feet-toes-legs cramps as well 🤩
Good video. I've been a year without a cycle. This has been my calmest, non crazy year ever. But the weight is so much harder to shed.
TH-cam is my passion project and I created videos to support you. Do a search using keywords: "weight loss”. 💙
Thank you for the education. I am going through my menopause year and tried HRT, BHRT due to lots of mood swings, tiredness,…but also got so many difficult symptoms from this HRT and do not have a doctor I trust. Now I started to observe what is helping me … too much walk not ok, to much activity during day nok, going in mountin house and garden, be in nature, slow down … helps and nurtures. Sugar and spicy out, camomile tea helps, good company and lough helps. I cannot work 8 hours effectively and am going day by day learning to accept this new me - it is a struggle 😩. There are days with so much demotivation and then another day is new life and good. It is so confusing to find the right rythm. I started intermitent fasting 13 hour. Now I will see. All is ok except how to go through those days when I feel tired and no joy. Not nice place to be, but it passes - I try to tell myself that it is my brain adjusting to new hormone levels and I can even sense in my head the limbic part and pressure, activity - it really is the brain that needs time for retuning.
💙
Centrum multivitamin has helped me tremendously! I experienced My severe hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings are completely gone and that after taking it for 10 days.
Since March 2020 I water fast 3 days/week for 24h. And since Sept 2020 I extended the period to about 36h. It was the best decision related to my health I did in my life. 4 times a year I also do a 3 days water fasting. I don’t change my fasting too much. When I did 3 days/24h I didn’t loose weight almost at all. Now seems that I stoped to loose weight anymore. I am kinda stable. I never adjusted my fasting according to my periods. Seems that works for me. I love this interview and dr. Mindy. I wished to understand better why in my case my fasting regime is not bother so much by my monthly hormonal changes. I am 52. I am vegetarian since 1991. I eat very varied and a lot when I eat. I feel excellent.
I'm starting HRT - patch & progesterone pill next week with Planned Parenthood.
Kava Kava = GABA = dopamine.
💙
Wow we are at nearly the same point of menopause. I am about to hit 2yrs cycle free. Your videos are so helpful - thank you! I still have symptoms so I am working on fasting and weight training!❤
I had a total hysterectomy in 2013 and now 56 and been off and on HRT. I am on a bio identical one. When I go off it after two weeks the symptoms come back with a vengeance.
I want to come off it but not sure I can deal with the symptoms.
I started intermittent fasting in December and starting the 3 day water fast on the 8th.
Thank you Dr Mindy for these videos❤
Cheering you on!! 🙌 Your intelligent, miraculous, self healing body will amaze you! 🥳💙
51 periods stopped 7 months ago this weight gain is horrible and that’s why I’m here ❤🙏🏻
Hi there! 📚💙 Did you read my book? This is great as your guide. 🤗

I sure have now❤
I am 53 and going for longer and longer stretches without a period (last one was this past august). The hot flashes and night sweats were out of control, despite fasting, limiting alcohol, ketobiotic diet, etc. Started on bioidentical progesterone tincture that I take sublingually. It has been a miracle! Hot flashes and night sweats gone, I’m sleeping through the night and my digestion is amazing and no more bloating. I thought I would also need to go on estrogen but as long as I’m feeling this good I think I’ll wait and see.
Awesome wins!!! 🙌 Congratulations 🥳

What tincture are you taking?
@@angelmaxwell145 it’s from Forefront Health.
Hi! Relatively new to your channel but love and appreciate your content. I wish I had found you years ago. I have been doing a 16 hour intermittent fast now for about 1.5 years. I was diagnosed with ER/PR positive breast cancer in Dec 2022 at age 45. I am currently 6 months into a medically induced menopause as well as taking tamoxifen. Do you have any resources or advice for woman who are in a medically induced menopause and on medications that block production of estrogen? I currently have zero estrogen in my body. Thanks for all that you do!
I am right there with you Dr. Mindy!
🙌
Thank you Mindy! I'm 43 and I've been having hot flashes and night sweats during season changes for 3 years now. Now I'm losing my sexual desire and i have bad brain fog and anxiety. My body shake like I'm cold. Cold feet. Hot core. I know I'm not going to find a good doctor in this po-dunk town of NC so I'm thankful for finding you.
BTW I have had an Merina IUD for a total of 17 years now so I have no clear on the last period. I can't even recall when that was.
When will the app be updated? Any work going on behind the scenes for it!?! It’s got so much potential
57 here, 7 years post menopausal...ummm still dealing with memory, concentration, libido...all the things,😢 not better.
Why do I feel shaky and weak, even a bit of nausea, when I go 24 hours or longer without food? Checked blood glukose (4 mmol/l) and ketones (also 4 mmol/l), then just had to eat something and felt much better. Am postmenopausal. Can I not utilise the ketones?
I am usually in ketosis but then usually have lower ketones, up to 1,5 is not unusual and not a problem.
When I fast, I drink electrolytes (and some coffee, tea, water).
I'm loving your info Dr Mindy, and sharing with my patients. DC in Fla
🙌💙
Aw thanks so much for sharing that with me. ☺️ And for helping to spread the word!
Am having many these symptoms Mindy . Brain fog , super irrationality, mental health t really low mood , tiredness, being around people everything an everyone is getting on my nerves xx I been putting mine on vein areas to get through my skin much easier
I'm 55 and I decided to ask for a sabbatical year. Just could not stand work pressure any more and having so many other things to add to the long working hours. I got often so frustrated, irritable by just anything, getting mad at the tiniest demand. Listening to you I just wonder how women who have office jobs manage to cope. My transition happened around age 50 but after years taking a pill called Lutenyl to prevent periods I didn't really feel any difference, except for the hot flashes I suffered, and terrible ones, the sweat waking me up at night, having to change bed clothes and bed sheets that were so damp. I am wondering now whether all the years of my life I had to be on such pills to prevent periods affected my mood. The low resistance to stress, the anger at anything I had to suffer (from any form of harassment, work overload, to anything such as noise from neighbours, bad drivers, etc.), getting mad so easily, hating my life and hating any cause of annoyance, I blamed it all to a toxic work environment. But could it be I've been low in estrogen all my life, which would have made it so much more difficult to cope?
🤗
So true longer fast stop the aches and the fuzzy head I done a day with sugar just to see the difference and wow I felt like 💩
54 here … no wonder I love how I feel during long fasts🎉
Thanks for this. I'm in year 2 menopause and wish I had the info, though it can help. HRT is not for everyone. HRT nearly killed me, as it caused me to have blood clots within the first 3 months of usage. So since I can never take it again.

Hi. I’m 45 yo and went in to menopause extremely early. About 13 years ago. Luckily I already had the children I wanted.
I very much regret not accepting HRT at the time when I was advised, due to “the risks” they told me about.
I struggle every day with sleep, brain fog, anxiety and of course weight.
Is it too late to start HRT now?
Great. Passei por isso sem saber o que estava acontecendo. Foi muito sofrimento, frustração e confusão. Achei que eu estava muito doente.
Is it true that taking progestérone without an uterus, can make us at à more cancer risk ?
For estrogen, would you advise organic tofu products like tempeh, tofu, soy "milk"?
Hi, i dont seem to find the link for collegan powder?
Take care Dr.Mindy :)
What do you think of the blood type diet in post menopausal women?
Not enough research. A healthy lifestyle will yield health regardless of blood type.

Can you give an example of a high protein meal that you have? Besides a big steak?
What is the quick silver called. I went to the website. When I enter cream nothing comes up.
How do you fast for menopause, since i dont have a cycle.... which are the phases?
You can do the 30 Day Reset as outlined in Dr Mindy's book, Fast like a Girl, using the 'New Moon' as your Day 1 (use search engine to find the day of new moon) or you can do a weekly variation like the 5-1-1 or the 4-2-1 Protocol.
The 5-1-1 is 5 Days of various fasting lengths, 1 Day of 24 hours fasting and 1 Day of NO fasting. In the 4-2-1 it is 4 Days of various fasting lengths, 2 Days of long fasts and 1 Day of 24 hour fasting.

Thank you for this! I'm new to practicing fasting, but not new to keto. Im 54 and 2 years post-menopausal, with Hashimotos and currently lowering my prediabetic A1C. About 9 months ago, my naturopath pur me on a troche that sounds a lot like what you mentioned: 2.5 mg of bi-est (estradiol and estriol) and 2 mg of progesterone) at bedtime. It's made such a difference. What I'm unsure of is if the troche is breaking my fast at night? And should I be taking it every night, or 8s it better to cycle hormones like when I was younger? I don't mind taking them, especially since they help me sleep, but I'm trying to decide whether to do 5-1-1 or follow the lunar cycle. So if i follow the lunar cycle and have longer periods of eating progesterone building foods, does it matter if im still taking the troche at night?
Hi @maryannwilliams8041 The answer depends on the individual. Here's a resource to learn the Formula that you can use to do the test: Which food or drink "Breaks a Fast" -

Hey Dr Myndi. I had a total hysterectomy, I’m young for menopause so I take estrogen as HTR. Im gain weight since I begun with estrogen. Can I fast without stressing my body more than I already do, by not producing any hormon from my ovaries?
I have had an endometrial ablation done years ago to stop heavy bleeding, i have no idea where my periods are at in a month or if they are alowing or stopped all together. I started hot flashes last year and have them off and on, some times none at all for a month. I am 55 last January. Where do I start? what fast? And when?
Totally lost. My FSH is 47.30 IU/L
LH is 24.7 IU/L
Thanks for any help.

Can you pls do a video on how to fast for women who are in their 30's & 40's, who have partial hysterectomy (their uterus removed but they have their ovaries intact.) Thank you
I want to know about this too. I had a partial hysterectomy in my late 20s. I still have my ovaries. I am going to be 51 this March. I have not done any hormone therapy. I would like to get rid of my belly fat and tone my muscles.
What does fasting do to cortisol levels in post menopausal women?

How do you suggest women go about finding a local practioner in our own area.? Where to look?
I appreciate your info. But you have access to experts in your circle....how do we start to get a circle of experts in our areas.?😅
❗️Where the heck do you find organic make up ?
Have you searched through the Skin Deep database found on the Environmental Working Group website: www.ewg.org/skindeep/
Great
I have a thyroid issue Hypo. Just wondering how can I get all my calories in if I fast? Also my mom had breast cancer. I want to get HRT, but I am scared as shit.
Hi!
Dr. Mindy's book, Fast Like A Girl, has a good bit of information on the thyroid, but the generalized advice is that longer fasts are not recommended. Fast less frequently and for shorter lengths. Eat nutrient-dense food when you eat. Please make your choice based on how you are feeling.

I’ve had gastric bypass. Are there any others here who can recommend how I can get 30 to 40g of protein in a meal? I’m still at 4 to 6oz of food per TOTAL MEAL….its all my belly can handle. 😩😩😩. Help!
It seems that when I'm fasting my once per week 40 hours, I don't have hot flashes! Any tests done to back this up ?
Could I ask how many hours is best for the 4-2-1 IF please?

Hi Dr Mindy! I am about 10 yrs older than you are and I do use an HRT patch.
I’ve tried so many things but I am still unable to lose this menopausal weight, esp in the mid-section. I’ve always been petite and on the thinner side, but my body morphed into someone I no longer recognize! lol.😢
I recently learned that I have IBS, which can make meals a challenge for me. ~ I’d really appreciate any advice you might have regarding foods you’d recommend. 😊

I have read both of your books, and I have tried to practice the 30 days fasting approach for 6 months and I have kept my weight in an excelente range, I am only 105 pounds, and no midsection fat. However my colesterol levels are high, so I don’t know if I have to continued doing the ketobiotic recipes and using coconut oil, ghee, etc, etc. Another question I have never understood the 24 hour fasting, do I eat at hour 23? I like to tried that fasting cause I have a burping that doesn’t go away.
Variations are important not just in fasting but also in foods. You eat after 24 hours to achieve stem cell repair in the gut.
Trying to lose weight. Still do 5:1:1 or 4:2:1 with 50gr protein, 50gr net carbs and 60% good fats?
Yes, but 1 day feast day for hormone building. 🙂
Can you do the weekly fast during the year of transition?
I’m 46 and I’ve been on birth control since in my 20’s except my early 30’s when I had kids. My gynecologist said it’s perfectly fine if I stay on them. So I get a period every month and I’m not sure whether I’m perimenopause. How does birth control at this age affect fasting? Should I follow the regular fasting approach for menstruating women or should I follow a perimenopause approach?
If you still have a cycle just follow that. 🙂
What you're having is not technically a period (shedding of the uterine lining that has built up to prepare your body for pregnancy). You might want to do more research on what birth control actually does to your body.
😢7 eggs is still only 40 grams of protein !!!! How do we get more ??
Grass-fed meat.
I want to know your opinion on this new rice fad eating before bed for weight loss?
What about us post menopausal women . I’m in my early 70’s
You can still Fast like a Girl 💙
You can do the 30 day Reset in my book, Fast like a Girl, using the new moon as your day 1 or a weekly variation like the 5 1 1 or the 4 2 1.
The 5 1 1 is 5 days of various fasting lengths, 1 day of 24 hours fasting and 1 day NO fasting. In the 4 2 1 it is 4 days various fasting lengths, 2 long fasts and 1 day of 24 hours fasting.

What if you have an IUD and Im 53 ? So confused where I’m at in my cycle.
If you have an IUD you do not have a cycle and would fast accordingly.
