Dr. Dake came to our Bible School in 1976 for a week of meetings, twice a day. His teaching was phenomenal. He could answer dozens of questions about the Bible and give many references to back them up, quoting them word-for-word without ever picking up a Bible or looking into one. He laid hands on and prayed for each student, including myself. His "gift of scriptures" was really something to experience. He doesn't "interpret" the Bible, but the Dake Bible gives 500,000 cross/chain references so the reader can gain a complete understanding of what the Bible says on any particular subject.
God used The Dake Annotated Reference Bible to get me out of cult back in the 80's. I started studying with Dakes note and after 4 years I became very sound minded. Some years after that God called me to Teach His Word.. I've been teaching now for over 36 years.

a comprehensive and well grounded view of Scripture. It is far superior to any other study bible and shows the greatest respect for God and the Bible as it takes a literal view of God. Those that do not think so have not spent time reading it so they are loud and arrogant to condemn something they have not read. The Dakes commentaries contained in the study edition are very fair and true to God and the Word. The thought and the conclusions in the Dakes Bible is deep and logical and leads to a deep understanding of the Bible and God in general. I've wanted one of these for a while but finding one in genuine leather is impossible. I'll have to get one in bonded leather and have it rebound. A treasure like this needs a skin that will hold up through the decades. 😊
I love the dakes bible is the best study bible I have ever used ! In fact I bought the dake word search 11 which is for pic or mac & is interactive is the same bible with all the study books, sermons etc . It is amazing !
I LOVE the Dake KJV Annotated Reference Bible. I brought one about 5 yrs ago and fell in love with it. I gave it away to some one who said they needed a Bible. I was on the hunt for the Lg print though. I finally purchased one off of Amazon. It does not have the maps in the back and it’s a big book. I am in all though. I will be investing in the Dake Software. I have about 7 Bibles, NKJV and KJV this is my FAVORITE!!! By the way, you did an Amazing job going over the different things in the Bible.
I use the Thompson-Chain Reference when I just want to read the KJV without being bothered by footnotes. Even though I can't agree with several commentary notes in Dake's, that Bible is so useful I live with the disagreement. On a lazy afternoon, spending a few hours "on Safari" in the Dake's bible is very edifying, and lots of fun, also. I can't believe I didn't hear about it until the mid-1990s when I was in my mid-30s.
I understand why Dake has more columns and this is not about that per se. What I sometimes try to look for is a KJV with no (or just one) Column. The reason why is after my incursions in Iraq, found that my reading comprehension was a lot worst but did not notice that until after I retired-frankly, did not read many books post Iraq though I always tried to read the scriptures-most important book in the world. Saying that, I discovered for myself the ESV. Without gling into all the arguments about the ESV, what I really liked and helped me a lot was having the text in one column(which is to say no columns.) That helped quite a bit. Also, when making comparisons or contrasts in the text of scripture The second line would be offset and definitely helped with not just understanding-but also comprehension hermetically. I share this with the question, is there any KJV's that had one column and offset compare/contrast. For me, what I found is with two columns, must go to the top of the page after reading to the bottom in the first column-this affects me tremendously. So one could understand-was wounded by an IED with a puncturing head wound. Have shrapnel in my brain(On the left side-prosthetic skull larger than my hand on the left and had shrapnel in my left eye though only lost 5% vision from that-praise the Lord for that, knew a few soldiers who went through something similar and was completely blind. Mentioned left side of head where I was wounded. The left side of the brain is where language is done. For example, have had word Aphasia for the longest time-and still do though I do try to compensate and so many do not see this in me.(Word Aphasia is when you forget people's names-yes, it happens to all. The other portion is not remembering words. When at Walter Reed as an NCO, I asked a soldier why did he not shine his walkers. Why say it like that? Could not remember the item name-boot's. Sounds hilarious but many times is frustrating. Oh yes this is funny if one can gain humor from this-would tell my best friend about the big boom booms. What was that-World Trade Centers attacked and collapsed. Thanks for doing this-store and sight-etc. David Emme
We have Single Column / Paragraph style KJV Bibles here: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/single-column-text.html Hope this is helpful. Thank you for your service to our country and God Bless You.
Without having a sample copy of the Companion Bible here at our offices or even so much as a page sample from the publisher, it's hard to compare it to the Dake. In our experience and as this video outlines in painstaking detail, it's hard to imagine that the Companion Bible would come anywhere close to the Dake in terms of the shear volume of notes, outlines, cross-references, or overall features. The KJV Dake Bible has also outsold the KJV Companion Bible at a rate of 12 to 1 this year as well for what that's worth.
The standard size Dake as seen in the video is 7-1/2 x 9-1/2 x 1-1/2": www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-dake-annotated-reference-bible/ So not much bigger than a standard study bible like a Thompson Chain or Scofield (although slightly wider, more like the width of a Wide Margin Bible). The Large Print Dake, the more popular seller of the two, is much larger at 9-1/2 x 11-1/2 x 2": www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-dake-annotated-reference-bible-large-print/ Hope this helps and God Bless!
www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles/dake-annotated-reference-bibles/ The Regular Size Dake is $85.00 for Bonded Leather and $58.00 for Hardcover. The Large Print (Best-Seller) is $95.00 for Bonded Leather. God Bless.
I know you guys as an company don't like answering these questions but if you could answer this it would be a blessing. Which bible has more information dake bible or Jimmy swaggart study bible or fire bible please let me know. Also in your opinion what is the best charismatic/penacostal study Bible please if possible let me know it would be very appreciated thanks and God bless 😊
Hi Brandon, we've never seen or reviewed the Jimmy Swaggart bible, but definitely would recommend the Dake over it given what is common knowledge about Swaggart: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles/dake-annotated-reference-bibles/ We have not reviewed the KJV Fire Bible either: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-fire-bible/ The Dake is the better seller to the tune of probably 100 to 1. Hope this helps. Blessings.
I just received my Dake LargePrint KJV Annotated Reference Bible today from Amazon. The only thing I don’t like is I do not have the colorful maps in the back.
It's a big bible for sure, probably better suited for at home study, but when you want "as many resources available in a single book / single-volume study bible" it and probably the Thompson Chain are hard to beat. Blessings.
Curt Curt, we are very careful not to recommend one study bible over another because it's completely a matter of opinion and preference. The Dake and Thompson Chains are very different in both content, focus, and functionality which you can see if you watch both of our video reviews on them. The Dake has tons of commentary and sermon outlines and features, whereas the Thompson Chain focus more so on the gigantic Chain Reference and Subject Index system, helping you find more Scripture about a particular topic or theme. They are both excellent bibles, but it depends on your doctrinal taste and preference of study bible features. Hope this helps. Blessings.
Yes I own both. It's just my personal preference to go with the TCR over the Dake. Both are great for xtra knowledge of the bible. when I'm in the Dake, I read less bible...that's a problem for me also. Lol.. Dake wants to also teach me about the preadamite world, which I don't really need. Lol.. Dakes quality isn't as good imo either. Just seems so cheap.
We sell the Dake Large Print Edition here: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-dake-annotated-reference-bible-large-print-1.html It's a 3 column format, not a 4 column, but it is the best and most up to date Dake Large Print Bible available. Blessings.
Can someone help me navigate a portion of this Bible. Reading Mark 10:28 before the word Lo it has an “i”. “i” reads “see notes on Mt. 19:27-30”. I’m not understanding what exactly what notes section they are referring too. Please help
From Dake Publishing: "Basically in Mark, when Peter is asking as a Disciple by "forsaking all"… What reward or thing will we get in return to help us understand the positive side to forsaking all…. If you go to Matt:19-27:30, you will notice Matthew expounded in more detail. Jesus explains the benefits of forsaking this present life and it’s fleshly lusts, especially in the case of the disciples, but at large there benefits to walking with him…. Such as: Eternal life, to rule as Kings and Priests, and to be evolved in the affairs of helping God facilitate His eternal Kingdom on Earth and abroad. Some times each disciple writer/author sees a different angle, has a slight different take on questions being asked to Christ, and also hears or sees a different slant of how or what He said… yet the same truth or message applies and is still being taught." We hope this helps clarify the "i" marking in Mark 10:28 and the corresponding comparison with Matthew 19:27-30 for you. God Bless! www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles/dake-annotated-reference-bibles/
Hello, The Dake Annotated Reference Bible has 35,000 commentary notes, 500,000 cross/chain references, 9,000 Outline Headings, 8,000 Sermon Outlines, 16,000 Articles, Hebrew and Greek Word Studies, and a Complete Concordance that lists every bible word. It is a very useful Study Bible. God Bless, The KJV Store
I have a question if you could so kindly reply that would be a blessing. Like you guys I prefer kjv as my go to bible as well. Getting to the question, have you heard of the kjv Perry stone hebraic prophetic study Bible? It's the only bible I know of that has more information than the date. Theirs only 2 Bibles I know of that have more information than the dake and that is 2. Jentzeen Franklin legacy bible 300,000 commentary notes 1. Perry stone hebraic prophetic study Bible 800,000 plus commentary notes!!! Nearly a million. Anyways would you consider doing a review on the Perry stone bible I do own it my self it comes in a new testament and old testament bible for the reason if it wasnt broke down into 2 separate bible it would be a 8 lbs 4-5 inch thick bible!!! I love the dake and recommend it highly but the only bible I prefer over dake is the Perry stone bible I've never seen anything like it it's called bible college in a box. Anyways if you could so kindly reply and give me your feedback that would be great. take care stay blessed and Jesus loves you bye 😊
+stevie6621 It is based on the 1769 Cambridge Text, even more specifically, the 1873 Cambridge Paragraph Edition text. You can read about that and why none of our KJV Bibles use the so-called "PCE" here: www.thekjvstore.com/f-a-q/#purecambridge. Blessings.
+The KJV Store Ok thanks. Even within the Cambridge text there are editions that differ. I noticed that your website sells the KJV by AMG which is what I have. In that one there are many typos and capitalization mistakes (eg. Matthew 4:1 says "spirit" instead of "Spirit").
+stevie6621 The only AMG Bible that we sell is the Hebrew-Greek Keyword Study Bible: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-hebrew-greek-keyword-study-bible-wide-margin-edition.html. We have not personally inspected that bible or done a video review on it but we will try to add it to the list. We can say with 100% certainty (by checking this very same Dake Bible used in our video) that Matthew 4:1 is "Spirit" in the Dake, as is Genesis 1:2 and I John 5:8. All signs this is an excellent KJV Cambridge Text (NOT the PCE per our FAQ article above). II Timothy 3:17 also correctly says "throughly" in the Dake. Again, just checked this in the Dake Bible on our shelf, the very same one used in this video. Hope this is helpful. Blessings.
John Doe Underlined words in the Scripture correspond to Hebrew or Greek keyword definitions or alternate words in the marginal reference. Any time you see an underlined word in the actual marginal reference, you know it is defining or explaining an underlined word in the actual Scripture text.
What is the publication date on this Dake study guide? It is different than mine and I think I have the better version based on what I've seen in this video. I won't be buying another one unless the errors in future publications are rectified.
The publication date of the KJV Dake Annotated Reference Bible regular size edition is 2014. This 2014 edition, as featured in the video which was also shot in 2014, has the newer 3 Column Format (I.E. 2 columns for KJV text and 3 columns for study notes). We aren't sure what "errors" you are referring to. The Dake is one of the best-selling KJV Study Bibles and continues to be. Our company hasn't heard anything about errors and we sell a great deal each year. Blessings.
Hello Nathan, In the Dake bibles there are a few different symbols used to indicate prophecies, promises, commands, and new messages from God. The symbol in from of Genesis 1:3 is actually 2. The circle represents a command and the square a message from God. Blessings, The KJV Store
We recommend the Dake for numerous reasons, most described in the video. But perhaps the most important reason at all is that the Dake is a KJV Bible. Therefore it is going to be superior to any version of the MacArthur bible which is not available in the King James Version. Blessings.
We can understand your concern. If you are interested in something more conservative, you could consider Ryrie, Scofield, Holman, or Nelson Study Bibles: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles.html. We have videos on most of those as well.
It has more commentary and information than the Thompson Chain, but we would still recommend the KJV Thompson Chain over the Dake as it would be a more "influence free" way to study the bible: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/featured/kjv-large-print-thompson-chain-reference-bible-lambskin-edition.html Blessings.
Jordan Woods It is important to know that we try not to recommend any study bible over the other, but to let the customer decide for themselves. This is because we do not necessarily endorse ANY man’s commentary, but rather, we only endorse the actual Scripture text of the King James Bible itself. All commentary should be read very carefully and critically. Here is a link to all of the KJV Study Bibles that we carry: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles.html
this will be a great study bible to use and i like how it added a bible dictionary to it and i like how dake added sermons in the bible what year was this bible printed
We are not aware of digital editions of the KJV Dake Study Bible. We only offer the print editions: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles/dake-annotated-reference-bibles/
In the preface of the Dake Bible it says "text emphasized with underlining where helpful". So if you look at this page sample on our website: www.thekjvstore.com/content/SamplePages/DakeSamplePage.pdf There are several words and phrases underlined such as the Greek word "apokalupsis" under a. Dake then underlines "writing" and "person" below that, to help the reader quickly identify the definition of that word or how it is used. A clearer example seems to be "g." "tachos" which then underlines "shortly", "quickly", and "speedily", so the underlining is sort of a quick identifier for what the Greek word "Tachos" means (shortly, quickly, speedily). Hope this helps and you can find our KJV Dake Bibles here: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles/dake-annotated-reference-bibles/
Sorry Nathan, I'm not seeing that one or exactly sure what you're referring to. Do you happen to have a minute mark in the video where you saw this? We'll be happy to look further or ask Dake Publishing as well. God Bless.
@@nathanwebster7136 I know this was a long time ago but I must give you an answer. This is something that all of my Bibles have, not just dakes. It signifies a new point, kind of like a new paragraph for the topic. Everytime you see that at the beginning of a verse that is what this is.

Dake is a good Bible
Glad you enjoy it.
thinking about getting one of these bible. One ? .how does it compare with the companion bible? It looks pretty much like the same lay out.
Great review there brother. How large is this bible, is it portable?
The standard size Dake as seen in the video is 7-1/2 x 9-1/2 x 1-1/2":
www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-dake-annotated-reference-bible/
So not much bigger than a standard study bible like a Thompson Chain or Scofield (although slightly wider, more like the width of a Wide Margin Bible).
The Large Print Dake, the more popular seller of the two, is much larger at 9-1/2 x 11-1/2 x 2":

The Dake bibles are available in Bonded Leather in black or burgundy.
Hi Brandon, we've never seen or reviewed the Jimmy Swaggart bible, but definitely would recommend the Dake over it given what is common knowledge about Swaggart:
www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles/dake-annotated-reference-bibles/
We have not reviewed the KJV Fire Bible either:
www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-fire-bible/
The Dake is the better seller to the tune of probably 100 to 1. Hope this helps. Blessings.

We have the Large Print Dake here:

I just received my Dake LargePrint KJV Annotated Reference Bible today from Amazon. The only thing I don’t like is I do not have the colorful maps in the back.
Dakes. Ive had 2 . Loved both. One issue I've had is the enormous weight.
It's a big bible for sure, probably better suited for at home study, but when you want "as many resources available in a single book / single-volume study bible" it and probably the Thompson Chain are hard to beat. Blessings.
You guys should do a review on the Remnant Study Bible
Thanks for your feedback. We will consider an RSB review for the future. Blessings.
Would you recommend the Dakes over the Thomson chain bible?
Curt Curt, we are very careful not to recommend one study bible over another because it's completely a matter of opinion and preference. The Dake and Thompson Chains are very different in both content, focus, and functionality which you can see if you watch both of our video reviews on them. The Dake has tons of commentary and sermon outlines and features, whereas the Thompson Chain focus more so on the gigantic Chain Reference and Subject Index system, helping you find more Scripture about a particular topic or theme. They are both excellent bibles, but it depends on your doctrinal taste and preference of study bible features. Hope this helps. Blessings.
+Curt Thompson all the way.
+Curt THompson chan all day!!
+Harpazo Rapiemur Sincere questions: Have you owned both the TCR and Dake Annotated KJV bibles? What is the basis for your preference?
Yes I own both. It's just my personal preference to go with the TCR over the Dake. Both are great for xtra knowledge of the bible. when I'm in the Dake, I read less bible...that's a problem for me also. Lol.. Dake wants to also teach me about the preadamite world, which I don't really need. Lol.. Dakes quality isn't as good imo either. Just seems so cheap.
Thank you
You're welcome.

Can someone help me navigate a portion of this Bible. Reading Mark 10:28 before the word Lo it has an “i”. “i” reads “see notes on Mt. 19:27-30”. I’m not understanding what exactly what notes section they are referring too. Please help
From Dake Publishing:
"Basically in Mark, when Peter is asking as a Disciple by "forsaking all"… What reward or thing will we get in return to help us understand the positive side to forsaking all….
Some times each disciple writer/author sees a different angle, has a slight different take on questions being asked to Christ, and also hears or sees a different slant of how or what He said… yet the same truth or message applies and is still being taught."
We hope this helps clarify the "i" marking in Mark 10:28 and the corresponding comparison with Matthew 19:27-30 for you. God Bless!

Hello, The Dake Annotated Reference Bible has 35,000 commentary notes, 500,000 cross/chain references, 9,000 Outline Headings, 8,000 Sermon Outlines, 16,000 Articles, Hebrew and Greek Word Studies, and a Complete Concordance that lists every bible word. I have a question if you could so kindly reply that would be a blessing. Like you guys I prefer kjv as my go to bible as well. Getting to the question, have you heard of the kjv Perry stone hebraic prophetic study Bible? It's the only bible I know of that has more information than the date. Theirs only 2 Bibles I know of that have more information than the dake and that is
2. Jentzeen Franklin legacy bible 300,000 commentary notes
Thanks for your question, but we have not heard of or ever seen the Perry Stone bible. God Bless.
What edition is this based off? 1769 or PCE? The reference KJV Bible by AMG looks like its from the PCE 1900.
Blessings.
what does the underlined words mean? Sorry if I missed it.
Blessings.
@@TheKJVStore my mistake, the one I have also has errors of the trinity in it. Thank you for your response.

What is the symbol and what does it mean on Genesis 1:3 the symbol is before the first And Genesis 1:3
Hello Nathan,
In the Dake bibles there are a few different symbols used to indicate prophecies, promises, commands, and new messages from God. The symbol in from of Genesis 1:3 is actually 2. The circle represents a command and the square a message from God.
Blessings,
The KJV Store
John MacArthur or Dake's....that is the question?? Thanks!
How does it compare to the Thompson Chain Bible?
It has more commentary and information than the Thompson Chain, but we would still recommend the KJV Thompson Chain over the Dake as it would be a more "influence free" way to study the bible:
www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/featured/kjv-large-print-thompson-chain-reference-bible-lambskin-edition.html

Is the leathersoft and bonded leater the same sewn binding?
+Jordan Woods Yes, they both have Smyth-Sewn binding. As do all of the Dake Bibles. God Bless.
+The KJV Store thanks! Do you agree with some of the questionable doctrines dake purports ?
Jordan Woods It is important to know that we try not to recommend any study bible over the other, but to let the customer decide for themselves. This is because we do not necessarily endorse ANY man’s commentary, but rather, we only endorse the actual Scripture text of the King James Bible itself. All commentary should be read very carefully and critically.

What do the underlined words mean?
In the preface of the Dake Bible it says "text emphasized with underlining where helpful".
So if you look at this page sample on our website:
www.thekjvstore.com/content/SamplePages/DakeSamplePage.pdf
There are several words and phrases underlined such as the Greek word "apokalupsis" under a.
Hope this helps and you can find our KJV Dake Bibles here:

@@nathanwebster7136 I know this was a long time ago but I must give you an answer. This is something that all of my Bibles have, not just dakes. It signifies a new point, kind of like a new paragraph for the topic. Everytime you see that at the beginning of a verse that is what this is.
