Great solution! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Riding and Wrenching gave me your link to see this after I complained about this on his review. Good work around.
Just wanted to say THANKS!! Got the parts from Amazon and got this to work. Excellent video. I used the AI Box and MAEDHAWK Aux to Bluetooth Receiver. Works great and faster than the boot up for the 2024 Skyline OS.
I was waiting patiently for someone to discover something like this. I just placed my order and it will arrive on Saturday. Can't wait to try it out. I gave up Iphone long ago. Thanks for posting this. 👍
Well I got it tonight and this device powered on android auto did appear. However it would not come back on unless I unpaired and repaired my phone. I am using the new s24 ultra. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. But this just would not stay on. So I am sending it back to Amazon. Any suggestions I would love to try em. Thanks. Stuart.
Mine is boom. Not sure if they had another one. Either way, mine is packed up going back. I am disappointed. You tried. I hope you find another. Stuart.
Thanks for the link. I had been considering one of these to use in my truck and GTS equipped bike. It was convenient to see one demonstrated and not have to guess at which one to add to my cart. Great demonstration too.
@@ITFZone So a bit of a follow up. I have not been able to make this work on my 2020 with GTS. The key is its looking for wired CarPlay. So in theory it should let you start CarPlay to launch it. Bummer for sure, it continues to work on my SkyLine OS and not seen any posts of it not working in Facebook. Unfortunate!

The SkyLine OS appears to be built on a google platform and you are correct many photos from Visteon show the Android icon. Hello! Which box do you have? Unfortunately after the last software update these boxes are not working as a headset. See this video on the topic: th-cam.com/video/13uXkA1R5nQ/w-d-xo.html Happy to look at your setup, email is easier just reach out! ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
Are both comecho on Amazon do the same thing? Because the first one you have listed is no longer in stock and they do not if there ever going to be in stock. Just want to make sure before I purchase
Yes BUT you already have wireless CarPlay built in and I don’t think this device will help much. There are options to use CarPlay without a headset. I have an update on this topic coming up next..
This is a great tutorial! Everything worked great, but I may have a buggy device as the device kept disconnecting and reconnecting to the bike. I've tried unpairing all devices except the Comecho box, and it works for a few minutes, but then disconnects, reconnects, and restarts Android Auto. Given how unsafe it can be to get distracted by your maps shutting off and reconnecting, I've returned the box to Amazon and will keep hunting for a stable solution!
After the SkyLine update if you pair the box as a headset it will not stay connected. You should only have your own headset and the AI box on the paired list. But I don't disagree, you really have to want AA as these boxes are a challenge. I continue to test and reach out to these companies and have found no better option as of yet.
So I have the exact same box that you show in this video. I hooked it up as you described, it never recognized it. So, I went into device manager and paired it up. I DID pair it as passenger, not sure if that's the problem. I use the Harley branded Sena headset. I never got the apple carplay to start up nor the Android auto screen like you did in your video. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it's very frustrating. Any clues? Once again, I had to manually pair the box to the bike. It would not recognize it on it's own. Thanks.
As long as it has power and the blue blinking light and your Harley sees the sena connected the CarPlay icon should take you to the Android interface. Make sure you are using the USB C side of the box to connect to the bike. Happy to troubleshoot further by email, itfzoneemail@gmail.com
Ok so I purchased the Box, went through the prompts until I got to the part where it asked for the headset. I decided to stop there because I needed to charge my headset. I came back the next day, when I connect the box it immediately says Device not supported connecting USB-c side to the bike !! When I try the other older USB side it lights up but is only recognized as as BT device. I've tried to unpair everything. What do I do??
Hello! For the AI box to work you must use its USBC side to the bike and you must have a headset paired as Rider role. When the AI box boots the first time it will likely display a message about screen resolution and then reboot. Once it starts to reboot you need to power off the bike for a good 30 seconds and power it back on. From there it should boot to its interface. Happy to look at with you, easier in email: ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
I have bought both of the "direct replacement" boxes since the original is no longer available... neither of these two work... both still ask to hook up microphone...
I can't even get my 2024 roadglide speakers to work. Just bought it a couple days ago. The dealer told me to upload the latest softwar available through HD. It still hasn't fixed my issues...
Make sure your audio is routed to speakers vs headset. Menu button - gear icon - Sound - Audio Routing. When you power the bike on do you hear the speakers click, you should hear the speakers power on as the bike boots up indicating the AMP turned on. If not the AMP is likely dead.
@ITFZone I do hear the clicking when turning on the bike or going into accessory mode. The infotainment is also set to the speakers. When I go into the settings to test my speakers no audio comes out. I'm not sure if it's an amp issue or still a software one.
If the speakers are indicating power coming on the AMP is at least powering on. So then it is really sound routing. I would pull the main fuse for a couple of minutes to reset everything. This is a common fix for this system. Otherwise we would need to pull the fairing to check the connections from AMP to Infotainment screen.@@Yeetsforthestreets
Im used to a bmw that has their own maps the run off the phone so when i want to listen to music there is an option to listen through the bikes speakers or my helmet. Can this be done on the new harleys? Im not a tech guy so kinda lost you in the video. Thanks for all you do and showing the work arounds. And im using android. No interest in apple
You can pair your Android phone to the new infotainment system via Bluetooth and stream music to the bikes speakers or a headset. However for navigation you would need to use the built in navigation in the bike, if your bike is NOT a CVO you would need to pay the $350 to opt in to the navigation. So it will work just like your BMW if you use the Harley navigation system. IF you want to use the Android auto experience and its apps such as Waze you would need this adapter.
I bought the Onince Z6 from your link and when I plug it in to start all I get is device not supported. I waited about 5 minutes and nothing else happened . Any ideas? This is on a '24 Road Glide.
If the device fails to boot you MUST power the bike off for a good minute and try again. Once it fails to boot it will never reconnect. I think once you get through the initial setup you will be fine but the box is trying to calibrate the screen size and it takes a couple of power cycles before it boots, it is then good from there. Happy to help, easier in email however: ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com pictures of your device manager screen and the ONINCE screen is helpful.
I'm wondering if my Motorola m1a that I use to wireless connect on my 21 will work as well. I did recieve a message from my dealer today that there is a fix for this coming out soon. Still waiting to hear more info on what it will be. Again great info. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Great solution. The link shows that the device is unavailable on Amazon, and saying they won't know when they'll be in stock. Got a similar alternative that also bypasses the need for the wireless headset?
Yes the 2nd Camecho option has sold out. Although I have not personally tested this one it does have the correct specs and should work. Has Amazon's return policy: amzn.to/4aeml4S Otherwise I am currently working on another option with another vendor.
Bought the second box in the link the other day and tried to connect. The bike will connect to the box but will not launch Android Auto. Car Play asks for a headset and nothing happens afterwards.
The interface will not load if a headset is NOT connected. Depending which model you have the box would prompt you to connect the built in headset which needs to be assigned to rider. If you have the CAMECHO with the HDMI connection it does NOT have a built in wireless headset so you need to provide one such as the MAEDHAWK in my headset killer video. The system will not allow any CarPlay, AI Box to load without a headset connected BEFORE an iPhone or AI box connects.
I finally got Android auto to work by using my Sena Headset as the microphone. However, when it shows up on the screen it says inconsistent screen resolution and says it will restart automatically but nothing happens afterwards.
I also get this prompt but it did restart for me and then worked from that point forward. I would say it sat for about 20 - 30 seconds and rebooted. I take you have tried disconnecting and reconnecting? I would have the bike in accessory mode when setting this up if by chance you had the ignition on?
With the adapter on the rider for a headset, can I also control and listen to music from my phone with the handlebar controls and thru my wireless headset (JBL earbuds w/ mic)?
In this case you would go to device manager and switch the connection to your headset when using it. Remember to also adjust the audio routing from speakers to headset.
I have a question: Camecho Cp box connected to the phone and the headset to the motorcycle, does the microphone work for phone calls and for Google Assistant?
I can confirm that my headset is able to hear prompts from the google assistant HOWEVER I currently do not have service on the Android phone I am using. Working to borrow an active SIM card from a friend, my iPhone is eSIM. So currently I receive something went wrong, connection error when issuing a Google Assistant command.
I got the comecho CP Box from Ali Express. All works fine but only if the phone is connected via Cable. Impossible to connect over Bluetooth. Phone keeps on telling me cannot Connect
I would disconnect your phone from the bike, so delete it from device manager and then connect the CAMECHO. You will tap the WIFI icon on the left side of the menu and it should put the AI box into pairing mode. You would then go to Android Auto on your phone and connect a car via BlueTooth. Once you have this setup you can pair your phone back to the bike for BlueTooth use but when using the Camecho you will need to disconnect the phone in Device manager or on your phone for the bike.
Google is not licensing Android Auto to products for motorcycles going forward. So there is not an included solution for Android Auto on the new Skyline equipped bikes, wired or wireless.
This adapter does work wired. It has a passthrough USB port which I failed to show in the video but I used my phone both wired and wireless. Should work for you.
If you do this can you also disable the bike's own GPS capability/tracking feature? I'm asking for the security community who wants to "degoogle" Harley Davidson so we can travel the world freely without being monitored.
There seems to be an order with this to work successfully. 1. Turn on the bike whether auxiliary or ignition. 2. Connect the box/ device allow to pair and connect to car play. 3. Select Android auto. 4. Plug in android phone. Unfortunately I'm not able to use wireless car play/android auto for some reason
Hello, I suspect you have the AI box paired as a headset. This will prevent the wireless option from working for you. You should not need to connect the box each time. You should be able to leave it physically plugged in and have it boot to Android auto without having to touch anything. Again I suspect you have the box paired as a headset. Send me a photo of your device manager screen, ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com Happy to help!
Need some help, got my box in yesterday, the bike is connecting to the box and it is connecting as a headset because the headset icon is coming up on the dash, but the bike is not lighting up the carplay button for me to open that interface??
Ok Yes the box will still try to pair as a headset but if you pair it the bike will not launch the Android interface. So you need to forget the BT-CFE2 connection in the device manager. You will need to pair another headset option that is not the box. Once you have that and connect the box just decline the pairing to BT-CFE2 and the CarPlay icon should light up OR the Android interface will just start.
So I had this error pop up on my new CVO today... It says " Android auto or carplay was interrupted and will restart shortly" I am not using a magic box just blue tooth connectivity for music. I have photos.
Yep! We know that the Visteon system, "SkyLine OS" is built on Android and early photos direct from Visteon's documentation showed the Android Auto icon. Harley maintains Google said no.
What's the first thing that happens on the screen when you plug in the box? You don't show that and I'm trying to connect doing the same exact as you? I don't get an acceptance code but it does ask if I want to link to headphones? I say yes but it won't stay connected
Hey Barry, After the SkyLine update the built in headset will not stay connected. You will need to deny its pairing and use another headset option. It will work with any other headset connected..
I have my cardo freedom 2+. Do I connect first with that to blue tooth and rider 1 and then plug in the box for car play? Hope this isn't keep you awake!
Excellent! Yes for whatever reason the Camecho built in headset no longer stays connected. Really not sure, something was updated with how Bluetooth devices are connected with the new SkyLine update. Which needed to happen and this was a lot of the frustration with the system. Let me know how it works for you from here on out!
I ordered the Bluetooth USB A and the adapter to C and the 3 way box power and data so I don't have to run the cardo and just keep everything plugged in. Simplifies everything
Do you know of a device that would split the USB C into two charging ports? Want to charge iPhone and my 20S at the same time. Tried one and it worked one time, then gave me error that it wasn’t supported.
These AI boxes will not work without a separate headset connection, they may for awhile but will eventually fail as I have learned! These boxes only support 1 Bluetooth connection so when you go to connect your phone you have to get lucky and find the box not connected as a headset to the bike which may work for awhile but then likely will stop working.
You can do that without this adapter, just bluetooth your Android phone to the bike and open Pandora. If you want the Pandora app on the screen you would need this adapter for an android phone.
If you go to device manager and add a device the box should show up to par as a headset. Mine connected automatically. Once CarPlay sees the box as a headset connected it will start.
@@ITFZone I think I saw it connect as a headset but it's asked for a headset to be connected since the first time I plugged this in. I may try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Thanks for the reply. Great Videos!
Thankyou. I'm picking up my road glide in 2 weeks, supposedly on a truck to dealership. Fingers crossed. Do you know if it can get waze? i think that is one of the major reason for android people like myself to want android Auto on the bike. Once again, you are awsome to research this for us.
ARGH..... headaches.. I do the boot up and I get to a prompt asking me to connect a deadset... No matter what I do I cant get past that. I even connect my SENA 50 on my helmet but still the same. In order to use Apple car play I need to attach a headset... How do I get past that....??????????????
Not sure I am following, if the headset prompt will not clear no matter what I would power the bike off, pull the main fuse for a good minute, reconnect and see. This will reset the system. Did you try to launch CarPlay even if the icon is dimmed? Happy to troubleshoot further but suggest we use email, ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
I am an Apple user but found this interesting. I have the Harley bluetooth headset, but I am going to try to use a regular one and see what happens. I know with whim it doesn't work right, but curious about others. Great channel !
I have this box and I plugged in the usb-c to my 24 road glide. It pops up and I can pair it, but then the android auto does not pop up. When I go into bluetooth settings, I can see "AI Box" under connected device list but it automatically disappears after a couple of seconds. I have tried restarting this procedure with no luck. I paired it without a headset. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, after the Skyline update the built in headset of this box will not stay connected. You must unpair it as a headset and then use another option for the rider headset. Once a different headset is paired the AI box will connect as a phone. You will then pair your Android phone to the box.
I have a sena 50s so no problem. What do I have to disconnect if anything to make it work. Does the box have a memory? Can it be reset if I did something wrong already?
@@gzjmckeon In your device manager you should see the AI Box and your Sena on the connected list. If this is true the box should start. Reach out via email it is much easier to troubleshoot: ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
When you tap the android auto screen it should bring up the pairing screen? Once you see that go to Connected Devices - Android Auto - Connect a car - Connect via Bluetooth, should show up as BT-xxx. Reach out via email and possibly send me a photo of the screen you are looking at, ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
That would work through Bluetooth pairing with the bike. You would be using the embedded phone capabilities. So yes but you don’t need this box for phone calls.
Well shoot, this device seems to be unavailable at this time. Thats going to bumm me out if I go ahead with my purchase of a new 24 Road Glide on Tuesday.
Yep the boxes are quickly disappearing. Though I have not personally tested this box it meets the requirements and has free returns, my affiliate link: amzn.to/3X7JS3z
From device manager make sure it shows the headset as connected, on this screen it should also list AI box. Might be easier to troubleshoot via email. ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com. Send a photo of the device manager screen.
Make sure you have a headset connected first. If you can send me a photo of your device manager screen in email I will be happy to troubleshoot with you: ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
If you have a headset already to use with the bike you are set. If you do not want to use a headset and just use the speakers you will need a headset option and a splitter to connect both. Stock has been a challenge on Amazon for these but at this moment: UGreen Headset: amzn.to/3uUmR8C BCLink Splitter: amzn.to/3SYvFSV
Wow! Seems like a lot of effort especially going down the highway. I for sure like the + - buttons, I really miss these from BoomBox with the new embedded navigation. Thanks for sharing!
I am trying to hook up the box to a 2024 Street Glide. It recognizes the box, but Android Auto won't pop up, and the red light keeps blinking. Not sure what I'm doing wrong?
Make sure you are showing a headset as connected to the rider profile. On your phone when you go to Android Auto and connect via Bluetooth is the device not showing up? Might be easier to trouble shoot via email with some photos, ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
The options are quickly dwindling after the SkyLine OS update display issue. I have not tested this one but it has free returns and implies Android OS V10 built in which would work. My affiliate link: amzn.to/457W1Yn
@ITFZone I got it to work but the display is still getting cut off. I ended up trying to use it anyway and it was working for 10 minutes and then the box kept crashing and rebooting. Harley really needs to consider andriod support. It is very frustrating to buy a top of the line bike and have a big screen you can't use. Gonna fold and buy the harley gps for now. I hate I phone.
Yep I agree, it is crazy that AA is not supported, the SkyLine OS is built on an Android OS so it is a licensing / Google issue. I have yet to see any official statement from any of the companies however.
Hmm, mine continues to work. It creates a bluetooth connection but also a WIFI connection to your phone. In your Bluetooth and WIFI make sure both are there. Of course on the bike it must have the headset connected as well. I have tested several times just powering the bike off and back on it seems to bring me to the Android screen consistently but all three connections have to be in place which is a challenge.
No, most of the time it will autostart on its own but just like with CarPlay on these new bikes you sometime have to go to the CarPlay icon and click on it to get it going.
So you are getting to the Android interface of the box but then you have to launch the Android Auto app to connect the phone? See my last video on this topic I cover how to set this app to default so it auto loads in the interface.
I have not seen it offered on the Indians but we know it is still on the '24 GoldWings. HDMC continues to say its a Google issue but as time goes on it does not appear so. In some of the visteon (maker of the infotainment system) it pictures Android auto on the screen. Still unknown as to why its not on the new bikes...
Yep it was there and then quickly gone again. I am testing some other options but I suspect will see this one back in stock. I did reach out to the vendor for an update but didn't get a response.
Yes we sold them out but I found a few more on another link: CAMECHO: amzn.to/4buGMve MAEDHawk Bluetooth Adapter: amzn.to/3SIYQdT BCLink Splitter: amzn.to/42sFRaO

No experience with this one. Key is the box must have Android OS V10. This video is a bit old now, check out my latest on this topic. th-cam.com/video/ciJ4fjISuow/w-d-xo.html
No the system boots automatically. However once now I had to go into the phone, Bluetooth and tap connect but it seems to mostly connect all on its own.@@brucem8129
True, both are bad! Those just getting these bikes are going to find themselves emergency braking until you can let go of looking at it! Its a discipline with this new system for sure.

Once you decline that and successfully launch the device you should not see this prompt again.
@@ITFZoneThat did the trick, thank you!
Great! It is a fix all!
The 2024's have an update already but nothing yet for the 23.5's.
@ITFZone this update allows for andriod auto?
Great solution. The link shows that the device is unavailable on Amazon, and saying they won't know when they'll be in stock. Got a similar alternative that also bypasses the need for the wireless headset?
Yes the 2nd Camecho option has sold out. Although I have not personally tested this one it does have the correct specs and should work. Has Amazon's return policy: amzn.to/4aeml4S Otherwise I am currently working on another option with another vendor.
@@ITFZonenow unavailable as well 😪 😕
Thanks a million for this! Is there another power option for charging my phone when this box is plugged in??
Yes I think I have found the adapter. Video coming.
Double pigtail USB c splitter
So I will need a usbc splitter to hook up both the box and Bluetooth adapter, correct.
I finally got Android auto to work by using my Sena Headset as the microphone. However, when it shows up on the screen it says inconsistent screen resolution and says it will restart automatically but nothing happens afterwards.
Correct
I also get this prompt but it did restart for me and then worked from that point forward. I would say it sat for about 20 - 30 seconds and rebooted. I take you have tried disconnecting and reconnecting? I would have the bike in accessory mode when setting this up if by chance you had the ignition on?
Great video. Thanks for the effort!
Currently unavailable from Comecho. Is there an alternative model or updated one?
There is an alternative Camecho, see my latest video: th-cam.com/video/UqDvHuPHmZU/w-d-xo.html My affiliate link for it: amzn.to/4cE0R36
It works! Thank you
I have a question: Camecho Cp box connected to the phone and the headset to the motorcycle, does the microphone work for phone calls and for Google Assistant?
I can confirm that my headset is able to hear prompts from the google assistant HOWEVER I currently do not have service on the Android phone I am using. Working to borrow an active SIM card from a friend, my iPhone is eSIM. So currently I receive something went wrong, connection error when issuing a Google Assistant command.
Thank you for your answer
You demonstrated wireless Android Auto. Can I simply plug in my Android phone and get AA as I do now with my 2019 Ultra?
Google is not licensing Android Auto to products for motorcycles going forward. So there is not an included solution for Android Auto on the new Skyline equipped bikes, wired or wireless.
This adapter does work wired. It has a passthrough USB port which I failed to show in the video but I used my phone both wired and wireless. Should work for you.
True but you are paring with this adapter and it is passing the AA through the CarPlay connection on the bike. Works well!
If you do this can you also disable the bike's own GPS capability/tracking feature? I'm asking for the security community who wants to "degoogle" Harley Davidson so we can travel the world freely without being monitored.
The GPS antenna is still there but in theory would not ever activate since you are not launching the embedded nav. Really no idea here.
Any updates on other devices that work. These are unavailable. Thanks
In my latest video I showed this one, however Amazon is showing just 1 left in stock currently: amzn.to/3W2iKSL
Need some help, got my box in yesterday, the bike is connecting to the box and it is connecting as a headset because the headset icon is coming up on the dash, but the bike is not lighting up the carplay button for me to open that interface??
Bike is recognizing box as BT-CFE2
Ok Yes the box will still try to pair as a headset but if you pair it the bike will not launch the Android interface. So you need to forget the BT-CFE2 connection in the device manager. You will need to pair another headset option that is not the box. Once you have that and connect the box just decline the pairing to BT-CFE2 and the CarPlay icon should light up OR the Android interface will just start.
Also often easier to troubleshoot via email vs in the Comments, I struggle with YT showing new replies to existing comments. ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
Does the magic box do the same thing
Correct
Is this for CVO models only? Can use for a 2024 SG? Apple Play as well?
Any of the models with the new infotainment screen.
Amazon shows the Comecho on out of stock with no estimated availability date. Bummer
Correct, later today I will post a new video with some options
So I had this error pop up on my new CVO today... It says " Android auto or carplay was interrupted and will restart shortly" I am not using a magic box just blue tooth connectivity for music. I have photos.
Yep! We know that the Visteon system, "SkyLine OS" is built on Android and early photos direct from Visteon's documentation showed the Android Auto icon. Harley maintains Google said no.
@@ITFZone, Google Maintains they have never saud NO, I am sure that Harley has made a back door deal with Apple
So that's what I did. I connected the cardo first for headset and then plugged in the box and boom! It came to fruition! Thank you sir!!!!!
Yes I do, BUT I need to test a bit more. Video planned on this topic here soon.
Can you send a link to the one that works with out a head set please and thank you .
@@ITFZone I just tried the ZZ air duo it works great on the new info system
@@scottmagnuson7539 If you have it paired as a headset I suspect at some point your phone will stop launching Android Auto. Just be aware of this.

once we hook up one of these devices, does that mean we can listen to Pandora app on our phone?
You can do that without this adapter, just bluetooth your Android phone to the bike and open Pandora. If you want the Pandora app on the screen you would need this adapter for an android phone.
Thank You so much!
I have this and it still requires me to turn on my Sena for carplay to work. How can I change this?
Yes, confirmed Waze works as well. Very responsive as well.

Any Bluetooth headset will work with the SkyLine OS IFCU.
Can you send me a detailed list of the order and what I have to do please?

That would work through Bluetooth pairing with the bike. You would be using the embedded phone capabilities. So yes but you don’t need this box for phone calls.

I only got the box to work only once now it no longer connects.
Do you have to reconnect your phone every time?
No, most of the time it will autostart on its own but just like with CarPlay on these new bikes you sometime have to go to the CarPlay icon and click on it to get it going.
