Thanks from Italy I bought this box for the new Road Glide special mine. I hope it works. Congratulations for your video I think it is the only resource on the net today. If it works you will become famous in Italy too ... but maybe you already are!!! A Hug
Awesome! Appreciate the support! The bike is still the best riding Harley I have ever owned but it would be nice to get through the bugs here at some point!
Thanks for your videos. Just some feedback on my experience. I got the CA01 and it worked ok for a couple of weeks and really the best when the phone was plugged it. Then all of a sudden the Bluetooth from the box to the bike became unstable. Continuously disconnecting and thus not allowing the carplay interference to connect. Even tried connecting my headset instead which was a stable connection and the box still appears to need that Bluetooth connection to the bike in order to fire the carplay interface. Tried a second CA01 with the same result.
Hello, So this is the issue the AI Box cannot be paired to the bike at all. Only to your Android phone. You must provide your own headset for the CarPlay icon to enable. The box only supports 1 BlueTooth connection which will be to your phone. When the bike prompts to connect to BT-### you need to decline it. I have had a couple people report that it continues to prompt to connect but eventually stops, some say 10 times before it stops. I have not seen that if I decline the connection I have not seen it prompt again. That would be the SkyLine OS at work. Make sure to delete the BT-### connection from the bike! Happy to look at it with your reach out in email: ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
@ Make sure under Menu - sound - routing is speakers. Otherwise reach out in email, send me a photo of your setup and your device manager menu. Happy to jump on a video call so we can look at it together.
Holly crap got the oldbox to work when i got it it didn't work it did the crazy screen hiddin behind speedo. Glad i kept the box it works perfect now :)
I've been using this box since May and it's still working after my 1000 mile service and software update on my CVO ST. The only issue I have is that I have to unpaired and then repair my android phone at least 3 times every time I start the bike. Otherwise it works perfectly for Android carplay and I use Google maps and Sirus satellite radio.
My HD didnt have Android Auto or Car Play in its infotainment. When I checked the software version, it was 2 versions behind. All I did was update to the latest version by downloading it from Harleys website onto a usb stick. Plug in the usb stick to the bike. Turn the bike on to accessory mode. The infotainment system reads the usb stick and updates the infotainment to the latest version. No external box needed. Now I have android auto and carplay working.
Bro always enjoy your vids. I wonder if you have or could do a vid on the install of the Harley Smart Siren ii for those of us who could not afford the CVO. Mine is the 2024 Street Glide. There are precious few vids on point. Thanks much if you could do so.
Possibly, the key is it is designed to mount behind the battery so you need to remove the battery. The connector is there is my understanding on the 24's so its plug and play.
Just bought 2024 road glide. You say in your video that you don't need a headset if you're using the android auto box. Is this correct? I ordered one through your channel and will be getting it today.
Hello! Congrats on the bike! To use the ONINCE AI box you are likely going to need a headset for the CarPlay icon to activate. Some have had luck pairing the ONINCE box as a headset but then it fails to launch into the interface. In my experience it worked as a headset for awhile and then stopped. So I had to update the video as many others reported the same. I do think you will need a headset adapter to make this work. Happy to help you through it, ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
I recently purchased the magic box you suggested but i was unaware you had to link a headset, do you have a video that shows that step before linking the magic box?
I've just installed it on my 2024 RG. Just add new device on the HD and look for BT-BDE7. That's what the bike accepted as the headset. Hope this helps. JmJ
However while this may work for now at some point your phone may stop connecting the the AI box. In theory you cannot use the box as a headset so you really would decline this pairing and then pair your own headset option.
Thank you, and I concur they are not easy, but a really persistent user can get them to work, eventually. I have been following your tutorials and am finally getting positive results. The small box is not showing up on Amazon yet.
Glad you stuck with it, the CA01 box was available for order yesterday but not today! Hang in there, ONINCE is to be stocking them but you can reach out to them directly for an update. The last I had from them is it would be back this week.
Question: Can you install and use the GoPro Quick app with this box? What a great way to setup a GoPro remote! It might have to be downloaded as an APK
Hello! I have not tried it but the trick would be the camera would need to Bluetooth to the box and there is no open Bluetooth connection. I am looking at a box that has 2 Bluetooth connections. Good idea for sure!
Hi, I used your set up with onice box. It works fine once I get it going. My problem is once I finish riding and put bike away for the day I come back next day or several days later, it does not boot up. I have to connect, disconnect, reboot phone, etc to get it going. Once going, it’s good for the day, starting stopping etc, boots up. Put away, come back next day or another, same thing, reboot after reboot. Do you have a solution? Thanks
I suspect you are trying to use the AI box as a headset. If you do this will only work with your phone plugged into the USBA passthrough, wired Android Auto. For wireless Android auto you cannot have the box paired as a headset so in device manager if you see BT-### you need to delete that connection and use something else like the MAEDHawk as a headset.
Neither box technically will work as a headset however mine did for sometime and then stopped. Others are reporting the same. These boxes only support 1 Bluetooth connection which must be your Android phone for Android auto to open. I do believe you can use your phone wired for Android Auto but with the later versions that also does not seem to work anymore. You will need to supply your own headset connection for any of these boxes to open Android Auto consistently.
@@ITFZone Yea, I am just curious because on all my Android Auto vehicles and devices the Map has always a white background then a Night dark background. I'm not talking about the Harley interface White but the actual Android Auto. That blue Map doesn't feel like Google Maps to me even though it is. I think that's not making me get it. I don't want to buy it and find out that it's Blue and you can't change the setting.
I'm all setup and working but it's not auto-connecting to my phone. I have to click on android auto, then go to bluetooth on my phone and select the box every time.

if you connect your phone via Bluetooth you can set your destination in maps on your phone and you will get audio prompts without a map display if your phone is stowed away in the dash.
Negative, your phone can be on the current Android OS. The AI box is on Android 10 and only AI boxes with Android OS V10 will work with these new Harley's.

Great video. Do both of the boxes have the bug mentioned on having to repair the phone at every startup?
Only if you try to use the box as a headset. If you provide your own headset connection you will not have this issue with either box.

True for the 2019 - 2023 (non CVO). Any HD with the new 12.7”’screen does not support Android Auto, unfortunately!

Is that default blue color for the Google Maps, so no regular white background? Night/Dark theme available?
This is just the company's logo and built in interface. Once you connect Android auto you can set it as you wish.

Crazy to switch phone platforms just for the motorcycle, several viewers have gone down this path to just be frustrated with the iPhone.
