wow its great to see and hear these guys again Thanks so much for this! I used to work as a repair tech at Ghost Town in the Sky back in 1989 🙂 These guys were neat to wach and work on and its interesting on how they worked there was a special 4 track cassette deck that had the shows audio on channels 1 and 2 and on 3 and 4 was the "data control program" that was fed into a control box that ran the show pretty neat engineering
thanks again for saving these guys or a part of them really a shame someone vandalised them and im glad a backup copy of the shows audio managed to survive there were a couple extra copies that were kept backstage in case one got messed up
Great to see! Edit: The animatronics appear to be retrofits of The Jungle Jamboree, which I'll link footage of here: th-cam.com/video/U7LxK4ssaC8/w-d-xo.html The most obvious retrofit is the Drumming Monkey, who seems to have only had outfit changes. There's also the relatively-obviously-retrofitted Wolf, being the Guitarist Wolf from the Jungle Jamboree. The smaller characters that were stolen would appear behind the Wolf in the Jungle Jamboree, the Pig is a retrofit of the pianist elephant, and I can't tell with the others who is who. Here's some footage of them performing as well, although they appear to be in bad condition in said footage. th-cam.com/video/3raLD2_BvSE/w-d-xo.html ANOTHER Edit: The one in the top right appears to be a retrofit of the Guitarist Monkey in the Jungle Jamboree, and that leaves the Moose/Bull as the Pianist Monkey in the Jungle Jamboree. I may be wrong, but I think these are the characters.
Yeah these characters were manufactured straight from their company, BUT the company had a tendency to recycle and repurpose the same characters with different outfits depending on the occasion, so they have retrofit-like qualities to them
@@Sea_of_Waves Yeah, I've seen other shows like the first Celebration Station band (The Pantones) that do the same thing. Thanks for the extra info CWave! :D
Haha no problem! And it turns out the reason why Rawhide was cut out from the original video is because there is a copyright claim to it. I personally don't really care about getting those so I didn't feel the need to exclude it
So happy to learn the characters’ names, and these are all songs I love, I’m absolutely obsessed with this band. Do we have any idea who the voice actors are? Traildust has such an amazing voice I am very curious if that voice actor has worked on anything else. I wish there was hope for these guys to get remade...
I wish I knew more about the VAs, I haven't done much research on em. And I'm not really sure when this got installed at the park, though I know for certain it was before the 2000s since the park closed around that time
I have figured out with context clues that they were put in sometime between 1983 and 1988. The “She Got The Gold Mine” song released in 1982, and it would have taken some time to get the rights to parody it. The other commenter Richard says he worked there in 1989 and had to do repairs on them which indicates they weren’t brand new at that time. But I can’t narrow it narrow any further than that. I’m hyperfixating way too hard on this show lol.
@@m.nic.5080 that’s actually some really smart logical thinking. I’m still curious if we’re able to validate the other commenter as a legit first person source, but if they’re telling the truth then that’s a really good gist of when it was installed
I don’t want to give out other people’s information but I have followed him on another website in the past and can verify the electrical tech part but I have no information on the year though.
I have a enhanced version of this audio I made, I’m gonna upload it to my channel, I made it awhile ago (around New Years I think) didn’t realize this audio wasn’t already uploaded on yt in good quality, usually people beat me to it
Not that I'm aware of. I'm pretty sure this is the only direct audio we have of any of the CPI shows put there.... at least for the shows that have characters like Bob Wire and all that stuff. But hey, it would be awesome if someone found some more!

They’re not retrofits. They just were built by the same manufacturer, Creative Presentations.

It wasn't a vandalizer that stole the heads. It was an animatronic fan who stole the heads and the smaller characters.
Exactly. But what he did is considered vandalization so he fits under both categories I guess
