Great video! I have some additional info about what happened to the characters after they were removed from Astroworld. Frontier City actually used some of the animatronics in their fright fest event. They were placed in a haunted house and moved apparently. At least one Udder Delights did survive. And the characters have been confirmed to be scrapped a few years ago. The Great Texas Longhorn Revue is one of my favorite animatronic shows and I'm glad you made this video so more people know about it.

I love animatronic shows! I think they are a great entertainment option for various places, such as theme parks and restaurants. The characters and music offer a sort of magic that you can't get with screens. Unfortunately, due to FNAF, I don't think animatronic shows will be popular in anything other than horror ever again (outside of theme parks like Disney), at least for a while. And now that Chuck E. Cheese is getting rid of their shows, its getting harder and harder to see these great shows in great, or even functional condition. It truly is a shame. There are still a few though, like Billy Bob's Wonderland in West Virginia. Maybe you could do a video on them sometime? Again, I don't think animatronics will ever reach the peak they hit in the 80s-90s. But we can dream, and I am working on and off on my own figure, which I hope may someday perform in an arcade setting!
I enjoy animatronic shows. They provide entertainment, nostalgia, and a nice opportunity to sit for awhile during a theme park day. It is sad that these shows are slowly being replaced, but we just have to learn to change with the times. I would like to add that the popularity of Country Bear Jamboree at Disneyland had actually dwindled by 2000 and would face the same fate as Astroworld's show in 2001.
Hey! As a regular visitor of Frontier city, I’m here to say six flags didnt buy the park until 2018! We don’t technically have an animatronics show, but we do have “quick draw” which feature a few animatronics! It’s a shooter like, points system game, kinda like space ranger spoin, where you chase after a criminal through the down, and it ends with a box of dynamite exploding! Hoping this clears this up a bit? Let me know if you have any more questions, and I’ll be happy to answer! Edit: technically, six flags bought frontier city, sold it, and THEN bought it in 2018. As of right now, it’s still owned by six flags. Edit 2: unrelated but apparently Walt Disney died on my birthday-
At the time of the Great Texas Longhorn Revue closed Frontier City was a Six Flags park! It was owned by Premiere Parks who had just purchased Six Flags in 1998, merging all their parks into the Six Flags Umbrella!

Also, we DID have an animatronics show, I just remembered! I cant remember what it was called, but for all I know, an animatronic could have been reused for it? It’s a stretch, but since the show was removed and replaced with the checkout in the entrance gift shop.
Having been born in the 70s, I quite literally grew up with animatronic shows. Being a frequent visitor to Disneyland as well as Chuck E Cheese and Showbiz Pizza in the 80s, I used to love these shows. America Sings is probably one of the most impressive I've seen. I still love animatronic shows today, but obviously for nostalgic reasons. Today's audiences are much more sophisticated and used to technology in their everyday lives, which is why they don't hold the attention of younger audiences today. But as technology advances, I feel they will come back in their way.
I think Efteling is getting a good idea of how to bring animatronic/tech shows into the new age. Their old animatronic show Spookslot is now being replaced by Danse Macabre which will have guests witnessing the action from within the show itself, with moving seats.
Efteling is such a fantastic park. They’ve learned how to create a rounded theme park experience. I can’t wait to head back eventually to check out Danse Macabre
I miss when Six Flags parks had more than just thrill rides, and I say that as someone who loves thrill rides. But there's an artistry to shows like these that shouldn't be limited to just Disney or Universal.
I really enjoyed this video!! I find it very interesting to know the history behind amusement parks. Especially attractions and animatronics. I've never been to Disney or any amusement park, but your videos make me feel like I did. I hope you continue making this type of content!!
These feels like TPMvids take on defunctland in the best way possible. It doesn't feel like a rip off but the inspiration is clearly there. Can't wait too see more of this series! :D
Umm that's was not the only theme park with singing character who has ripoff six Flag over Georgia did have a show called Bullfrog Bayou Review Which might a ripoff of Longhorn Review and Country Bear Jamboree. And The Brer rabbit which the ride was called Tales of the Okefenokee
Can you PLEASE do more of the Disney urban legends, and myths videos? I know you've done a few but they're just SO interesting! and could you maybe do some myths on some of the parks out of the US like Disney Seas, or Disney Paris? Love your videos!
Astroworld nightmare fuel...creepy characters and while the builders deserve credit for whipping this together quickly, it's still creepy in execution and a poor rip-off of Disney magic.
Cool that this is gonna be a series! Hope you're gonna cover Hofmann Figuren in Germany, who sold Bear Jamboree clones to theme parks all over western Europe for centuries

Great video, TPM! I would say that some people might still appreciate an Audio Animatronic show at a Disney park (but it would have to depend on if the Disney Company would budget for it, because of the cost of installation.) The only places where I could see Imagineering installing a new audio animatronic show at a disney park would be at either Tokyo Disney Sea or Tokyo Disneyland (because the Oriental Land Company could easily budget for it and it would be great, see Beauty and the Beast dark ride.) If the Disney company had ever decided to do a new audio animatronic show, it probably would have been in the early 1990s had either Euro Disneyland/Disneyland Paris succeeded or had the European magic kingdom park open in Spain (then we would have had the Tomorrowland 2055 project with Alien Encounter, the Timekeeper and Plectu’s Fantastic Galactic Revue at Disneyland, among several shelved projects.) Another hypothetical/what-if would have been to cap on the success of Lilo and Stitch IP and loosely based off the TV series with Stitch and his cousins in Tomorrowland at Disneyland (or at the Magic Kingdom, gasp!) with an audio-animatronic revue show. Though... hmmm... tbh, no offense to the new Zootopia dark ride but... I think the IP would probably be great to lend itself to again another musical revue with Gazelle and some other characters as judges with some of the cast singing some classic covers of pop songs with the lyrics slightly changed to represent animals and ends with Gazelle singing her signature song "Try Everything" with the dancing tiger back-up singers (The whole idea loosely based off of that one Zootopia+ episode on DisneyPlus.)
It’s funny how most of the people who were responsible for this show also designed the cult favorite dark ride, Monster Plantation/Mansion at Six Flags Over Georgia.
I missed watching videos about these things. This was so fascinating to watch. I’ve always been a fan when it came to animatronic shows. Wished those characters could’ve been saved in a way. Hate it when animatronics are thrown away like that.
I remember Disney also had a country bear band with real musicians dressed up as the bears playing in malls and stuff. I remember in a commercial they had an updated band that plays modern style country rock.
To be honest, I have never heard of the Great Texas Longhorn Revue before this video. Now I want to go to Frontier City and ask them where those animatronics are. Also, I still think that animatronic shows like this one, Country Bears, Tiki Room, Chuck E. Cheese (when they did have animatronics), the show they used to have at Celebration Station, etc. are very entertaining!
Do you plan to make any videos on Creative Presentations animatronics (Country Critters Jamboree formerly at Ghost Town In The Sky, Jungle Jamboree at Castle Fun Park, etc.)
Wow, I did not know about this show and it's so obvious that they took inspiration from The Country Bear Jamboree! I'm surprised that Disney didn't sue AstroWorld for it.
i would love if you could do a more in-depth video of frontier city! it’s got some interesting animatronic history. it had a jungle jamboree show at some point as well as some sort of bear show, which looks like it still may be installed in one of the buildings, but i haven’t seen it mentioned in years.
forgot to add this but- it also has a pretty cute bison head that greets guests at the entrance! i’ve never been able to find any info on him either, though he’s clearly inspired by the country bears mounted heads.
This reminds me of the attraction that was once at Oakwood in Wales, UK.. sadly I can't find anything about it from the quick search but I'm sure it's on the net somewhere
The country bear jamboree will be missed. Can’t wait to see how many hidden secrets they leave behind in the new show. Maybe that’ll be the next video.
I like to see it as a compliment to Disney's work. Would love to see these shows. Seen a few in the UK, but nothing as great as the USA have (uk ...sundown adventureland, Cadbury world) saw some great audio animatronics at Disneyland, but no shows.
I kind of miss shows like this. The way I see it, with how technology has progressed, they could easily do randomized shows to keep the experience fresh, much like how Star Tours operates today. I just don't know if anyone would have an interest in seeing something like that.
Aw man. I do like these animatronic shows but I also understand how they could get stale. I really hope we get a switch away from thrill rides soon. don't get me wrong, I love them and want to go on them as much as I can. But I remember a video a WHILE ago talking about how hard it is to bring kids to Universal because at that time... pretty much everything had a height requirement. It's gotten SLIGHTLY better with Villiancon, but it stuck with me. Then I brought my friend to Universal/Disney for HHN and MNSSHP and she's got a major fear of heights and doesn't find coasters that fun. So, if parks switch to doing all or mostly thrill rides... those people have no where to go. And that's also not counting stuff like grandparents, pregnant women, people with health issues... we need more shows (indoor and outdoor), dark rides, and so on. If not for the above stated reasons, come on give us some variety too. All coasters all the time makes things blur.
TPM I wanna ask you something: So I’m going to Disney World this summer and I want to learn about the best food hits like people say “You should try this at Walt Disney World!” So can you try to make a video of that next video? If you can’t it’s ok. Just asking the title name would be called, the best food you should try at Disney World or whatever you want the title name to be called. 😊
Just FYI, @TPMvids , maybe tell subscribers to check their status. I thought y'all had gone quiet, in reality TH-cam had just turned off notifications for your channel.

Make a video about Reino Aventura, the former park before Six Flags in México City. It was a "wanna be Disneyland" that never reached such success. I can help you with some information if you want. Please, also try to work with a Tivoli Gardens Video, remember it is Disneyland's inspiration. Greetings from Tapachula, México.
Great new series! You should definetly Cover klimbimski show/scala starparade at phantasialand in germany. IT started as an country bear fake but after an rework it was an much better Show with technic like American adventure from epcot
I think animatronic shows still have a place in theme parks for sure. The problem is that technology is so far advanced, that most of the mechanics and effects seem dated, plain, and lack that "WOW" factor from when they first were introduced. I think if another all animatronic show is introduced, it really has to showcase the huge advancement of technology. Like them actually interacting with guests. AI tech would be best used there. And with that walking Judy Hopps 'tronic being made, it would take it a step further. Animatronic shows are NOT obsolete. They just need to change with the times
It's so unfair that these guys were left to rot; such wonderful works of animatronic art...
Tbh Six Flags over Texas could’ve bought them, that park feels very empty in most spots and lacks a lot in recent years

I LOVE TPM VIDS!!!!
There's another animatronic show that I'd love for you to talk about, that being Andy's River Towne Band in the UK.
Ive spend years researching european small unknown shows to even shows that are not online at all. Hope to see some featured in the series as well
Do you plan to make any videos on Creative Presentations animatronics (Country Critters Jamboree formerly at Ghost Town In The Sky, Jungle Jamboree at Castle Fun Park, etc.)
Wow, I did not know about this show and it's so obvious that they took inspiration from The Country Bear Jamboree! I'm surprised that Disney didn't sue AstroWorld for it.
I haven’t been to this channel in a long time❤🎉
I love this channel
i would love if you could do a more in-depth video of frontier city! it’s got some interesting animatronic history. it had a jungle jamboree show at some point as well as some sort of bear show, which looks like it still may be installed in one of the buildings, but i haven’t seen it mentioned in years.
forgot to add this but- it also has a pretty cute bison head that greets guests at the entrance! i’ve never been able to find any info on him either, though he’s clearly inspired by the country bears mounted heads.
This reminds me of the attraction that was once at Oakwood in Wales, UK.. sadly I can't find anything about it from the quick search but I'm sure it's on the net somewhere
1:07 I remember The Atlantic Show, cause I saw it when my family visited Las Vegas.
The country bear jamboree will be missed. Can’t wait to see how many hidden secrets they leave behind in the new show. Maybe that’ll be the next video.
What dose TPM stand for? Love your videos:))
I like to see it as a compliment to Disney's work. Would love to see these shows. Seen a few in the UK, but nothing as great as the USA have (uk ...sundown adventureland, Cadbury world) saw some great audio animatronics at Disneyland, but no shows.
Your videos are very good I want you to keep doing what you are doing ❤❤❤❤
17:34 Now a theatronic coming to life and down off the stage would have definitely scared me as a kid 😬😧🙀 😂😂😂
10:15 Where did you find this interlaced version of this PM Magazine report?
Video Idea: Mabye @TPMvids can get a Vr headset and experience all the Disney rides all over the world
I kind of miss shows like this. The way I see it, with how technology has progressed, they could easily do randomized shows to keep the experience fresh, much like how Star Tours operates today. I just don't know if anyone would have an interest in seeing something like that.
You know this show could've been a great fit for Six Flags Over Texas.
17:30
The way my heart would have plummeted as a kid- the way my heart plummeted NOW lol
I worked at AstroWorld and remember seeing that steer backstage. Good, spooky times.
I'm really looking forward to that Looney Tunes Revue video if you so choose to make it. And maybe look into the Bullwinkles chain too.
1:52 bro created fnaf 💀
This was a fantastic video! Well done
I'm so excited and interested in this series!
I wish Six Flags AstroWorld would come back to Houston, Texas and restore this show.
12:21 Rare commercial.
Would like to see you cover Robot World from Wisconsin Dells
TPM I wanna ask you something: So I’m going to Disney World this summer and I want to learn about the best food hits like people say “You should try this at Walt Disney World!” So can you try to make a video of that next video? If you can’t it’s ok. Just asking the title name would be called, the best food you should try at Disney World or whatever you want the title name to be called. 😊
You don't need to thin the paint for cells. Cool painting
I love what you do
Just FYI, @TPMvids , maybe tell subscribers to check their status.
I thought y'all had gone quiet, in reality TH-cam had just turned off notifications for your channel.
What happened to tpm video Disney beats
Never heard of Great Texas Longhorn Revue, but it’s still obscure.
What if the Great Texas Longhorn Revue got a Christopher Walken movie like the Country Bears?
Great Video! I knew about this show, I still have somewhere some memorabilia from Astro World. You always amaze me. Greetings from México.
It’s tpm day
Who saw knott’s berry farm
Great new series! You should definetly Cover klimbimski show/scala starparade at phantasialand in germany. IT started as an country bear fake but after an rework it was an much better Show with technic like American adventure from epcot
17:34 I wish more attractions would do this!
Surprised you didn't mention the Country Bear refresh going on now.
TPMvids makes me forget about everything for 20 minutes lol
I love you videos
Can you make a video of: top 10 best disney atractions (from every park
CANT WAIT FOR THE VEGAS ONE!
I know its not much your speed but could you do a video on the bibbidi bobbidi boutique? please
If 1 person should be brought back to life it would be Walt Disney! We need him! The parcs need him!
