Love you on the recent Donut videos. This is good stuff too - I already knew most of this stuff pretty well but never knew how a synchro worked! Thanks for this. For the manual transmission operation part, I think it's important to note that the output shaft gears are rotating _independently_ of the shaft itself until a shift fork/synchro makes one of them sync up with it. Toyota's E transaxles seem to have 4th ratios that hover around 1:1 but never are, so I guess they do have a separate gearset for 4th 🤷🏻♂️
