I had this done 11 days ago and I’m more in pain than before, doc told me sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks to see improvement! He told me sometimes the pain gets worse for few weeks before it gets better. I really hope so

Many surgeons recommend band aids like ice and joint injections before going straight into $urgery and many will try persuade you into surgery, sometimes even unethically. It's like asking a real estate agent if it's a good time to buy a house. Instead of that you're asking a knee surgeon if you should get surgery. Physio should be on this list too as well as alternative treatments like chirotherapy, scar tissue massage. And beware of "athroscopic" procedures. Don't take them as lightly as your surgeon suggests. No surgery is minimal and it usually leads to a full knee replacement down the road. Your surgeon usually won't tell you that though. Obviously every case has different severities. Just something to be aware of all my fellow knee injury folks.

I had this procedure in January 2020. I had high hopes that this would work for me to avoid knee replacement due to severe arthritis. Unfortunately this did not work for me. Dr Padia said I should give it at least 3 months to see if it works. It has now been 3 1/2 months and there is no improvement at all. I am in so much pain there is no doubt I need to have the knee replacement as soon as possible. But now I can't get it because hospitals are not doing elective surgeries because of covid-19.

I had OA stage3+, deformity, swelling and my right knee often gave way when walking. The GP sucked out 2 large tubes of yellow liquid & injected hyaluronic acid, 2 weeks later Autologous Protein Solution injection followed by physiotherapy program. The first 3 months the newly formed cartilage was not firmed yet so have to be careful, not to walk too much or lift weights. Thereafter it kept on improving and the pain I would say reduced by 95%

There is no blood supply or nerves located in cartilage. Is cutting off what little blood gets to the joint a good idea? Blood brings essential healing nutrients. What do doctors speculate are long-term effects of this procedure? I worry that it may be harmful, delaying the healing process for such a prolonged period of time

While it does seem to relieve pain, something tells me injecting "particles" into the joint to block blood flow is not going to have a good long term outcome.

@@roxaneeichmann2196 i woke one morwning about a year ago and my left knee was not working. My wife drove me to a clinic. The doctor suggested gout and i told her i had gout 4 yetars before. She scanned her computer and suggested a heart attack anand referred me to the Heart and Stroke unit at the hospital. There i had xrays, blood taken, saw three doctors, had a brain scan, and was told they would let me know. I got a phonie call that my brain was ok. I went to a family doctor who looked at it and was going to prescribe Tylenol super strength. I started watching youtube videos and found Dr John Bergman and found his video how to "dangle your feet while wearing weights". My knees are doing well after a few months of dangling them. I also quit over the counter drugs and got CBD oil from the hemp store. It helped me to sleep, and that is when almost all healing takes place.

♠♠♠♠Carrying two children and being unable to move because of my illness, I put on a lot of weight in the next 10-15 years. It strains my knee joint very much, leading to additional osteoarthritis in my early forties. It doesn't help that I work in a small office sitting at the computer all day. When every move you make feels like torture, you tend to avoid moving. This is probably the number one mistake those of us with arthritis make. This is also one of the main reasons obesity is twice as common among people with arthritis than the general public. To get an arthritis solution here : tinyurl.com/y3t83cje?TruEer1 > ◘◘◘◘

Injections failed to do anything. My VA Rumetologist took me off Indocin & opioids due toàà the Fed./DEA/CDC coming down on the VA. Today I have nothing to take for my chronic Inflamation/pain. My muscles have wasted away as it's too painful to walk and often the knee Pops out of socket causing me to fall. I am a thin 6-3 , 185lbs man too. My Question: OK by perfoming this procedure you stop the blood flow to kill the inflamation/pain but doesn't the knee still get damaged from bone on bone rubbing?

Does the VA do this injection procedure? My right knee is having problems, & the VA took x-rays & MRI. The cartilage is wearing out. I can walk, work, etc, just can't move like I used to. My problem isn't the VA doing a knee surgery, but how long it would take to get back to working. I work in a warehouse, so we are always moving & lifting. Thanks

This is a wonderful video and very informative, my only problem is that the lifestyle guidance and weight loss was totally skipped when he was talking about OA medical management treatments which would be a big reason for inflammation in the first place. I feel as though he went straight from no treatment to knee replacement but I need to rewatch the video to make sure. I was tricked into having a steroid injection by a knee consultant. The injection lasted 4 days then I went back to the knee consultant and was informed the steroid injection blocked me from having knee replacement for 6 months. The only thing which stopped arthritis for a while was exercise. For 4 months I spent every other day in the Gym then I went to carry out a leg press and that was the end of my left knee.
I control the pain in my knees using ice packs on all four sides of the knee.
