What yarn are you useing?

I didn't invest almost $200.00 (not including the yarn) in a Knitting Machine to make a "Beanie".... I would like to be able to knit an outfit. Like a simple top and 'A'-line skirt.
[I can easily knit a hat without this very expensive machine.]
