Sentro (or Jamit) Crossed Headband Pattern

- Learn how to make this cozy and cute knitted headband ear warmer with your circular knitting machine in today's free tutorial!
This crossed knit headband pattern is made for the Sentro or Jamit knitting machine (although I imagine it would work fine on an Addi as well, I just don't have one so I can't say for sure :)
It's sized to fit an adult with about a 22" to 24" head circumference. However, this headband stretches a LOT, and will fit smaller heads as well.
As I write this, my 4 year old son is testing it out and it's perfectly cozy on him, but it's a little too wide so it looks like of funny.
The only thing I would change if you're making it for a child is to reduce the amount of rows so it's not too wide.
For a little kid (like my 4 year old), you could reduce the number of rows to about half, so maybe 38 to 40 rows would be good.
For older children, I'd probably go for 50 or 60 rows, depending on how you want it to fit.
To customize the fit, measure how wide you want the headband to be and knit rows until it's twice as long as your measurement and you'll be good!

My 12-year old just made her first headband with your video! Thanks for the great step-by-step!
I made my first headband at 11 years old i also got an addi express knitting machine and addi pro at that time and ever since I’ve been making tons of stuff like bags - I’m 13 now
Thank you for this! I’ve made 8 of them in the past few days and love them!!!
Great tutorial! I made this in an hour and it was so easy to follow. My first success with this machine ever!
Awesome tutorial. I haqve been wanting to make something different . I have knitted hats for charity for years so I thought I would trying something different.
Thanks so much.
I love it! You are a marvelous teacher! I’m on my 4th day with my Sentro 48! I have learned soooo much from you. Please keep those videos coming! ❤️❤️
Hi Crystal, first of all Thank you for this tutorial, it is the best I have seen and because I only own a 48 pin Sentro, this is just perfect...I am a newbie lol, and you explained it so well and easy to understand...I have never learned how to use waste yarn, been a bit nervous..lol I will be learning a lot, since I just got my machine for christmas and have made two beanies...some tutorials fail to mention the size and yarn and you answered all my questions...Thank you!
Some people say they have to sometimes keep pulling on yarn to go threw feeder . I put my yarn in bread bag and let it drop to floor and works alot better for me your not constantly pulling yarn out of skein
This tutorial is one of the best ones I have come across. It’s straight to the point.
Thank you for this tutorial and very well done. I just got a sentro 48 pin and learning everything I can about it.
Very good video and easy to follow along
I tried making it on my Sentro 40 knitting machine and it turn out amazing due to your awesome tutorial. Many Thanks!
i have to do 95 rows of 4 yarn with sentro 40.
My first time to do this. Thank you for the tutorial. I actually had difficulty on the other end of my project. My waste yarn unravelled. But was able to sew the end instead and was able to finish the project.
Iam Suoer excited to try ths. Appreciate you going slow enough for ME ( NEWBIE) I've seen other videos 👎 they went fast calling the video "for beginners". Rewind rewind & NOPE.. this video I TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD ❤️
I'm so glad to hear that!! 😊
I also slow them down so I can really see what to do. It helps a lot
Thank you so much! My first successful project on my Sentro machine. You were wonderful in this tutorial.
Can’t wait for my new knitting machine and follow this tutorial
Excited to try this.
Was für eine geniale Idee die Seiten zu verbinden. Sehe ich zum ersten Mal, obwohl ich schon so viele Videos angeschaut habe. Vielen Dank dafür!!!!
Super easy to follow. Thrilled
Such a fabulous tutorial! I just got my machine today and was easily able to follow along. Thank you!
Thank you!!! I had success on my first try! Guess who's making Christmas presents with my horde?
Thank you. For the fun tutorial. I immediately made one after watching.
I also am a newbie and this was very easy to follow. I appreciate your step by step instructions. Thanks
Thank you for posting this!! It was very helpful!
Great tutorial an my head band turned out perfect thank you!!
Thank you so much it is my first project in the sentro machine that came out looking pretty😂❤
Thanks for this tutorial … and especially including row count for various sizes. I’ve made some before but they were rather wide for smaller size heads? I’ll be making some more using your suggestions. Thanks again!
Great tutorial. Filmed super too. Can’t wait to make this😁
Very nice project and tutorial. Thank you.
You made this so stress-free! Thank you so much
I did it! Thanks, fantastic tutorial ❤
Oh thank you for the step by step video. I just got a sentro machine and I just tried this ear muff warmer and oh my gosh! Fits nice and snug doesn’t move and definitely keeping my ears warm. I’m so excited to wear it when it get cold now. 👏❤️
I just love your patterns so much! So clear and concise thank you!
Thank you so much for the junk yarn tip. Trying to pick the yarn off with the needle ALWAYS gave me anxiety... thank you.. phew 😅😊
I have been thinking about getting a knitting machine your video may have helped me with that decision I am new to this looks like it would be fun
Once again, great tutorial!! I’ve been looking for a video that uses the scrap yarn as well and here I find it on your channel!! I’m going to make these as Christmas gifts. I hope you have a fabulous holiday!!
💚😊💚😊
Great tutorial. Just received a Sentro for my birthday from my daughter so this’ll be perfect. Thank you.
You’re really good at explaining this. I love it. I don’t even knit and now I want to try this! :-p

Adorable! Great tutorial Crystal! Your amazing!⛄☃️🌲😀💗
Beautiful headband. I used to make sold sell these in fabric but I also love the look of these ones too!
A clear, concise and informative video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. , I loved the editing too 👌🏻.
Liked and subscribed x
what is the yellow thingy? thanks for the tutorial!!!
Weather to go. Thanks for sharing
Fantastic
Wowww❤
Very nice!
Thanks!
I tried this pattern with someone else, but they didn't give instructions right and I ended up wasting a good bunch of yarn in the end, but yours was so much easier to follow! I just made mine way too small (I got a big head 😬) but now I know what to do and how to adjust for my fat head lol
I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of three machines - the 22, 40 and 48. I have grandchildren and so I need several sizes. I have a ton of wool sock yarn. Have you tried doubling it for the headbands or beanies? I really want to use it up because I have too much to knit and I have over 100 pair of handknit socks already - LOL!!
I haven’t tried doubling up sock weight yarn yet with the knitting machine, but I’ve seen other people do that and it worked fine so it’s certainly worth a shot! Wow, 100 pairs of hand knit socks?! That’s amazing!! One of these days I want to learn to knit socks- you’re inspiring me!
Obrigado por nos ensinar. Adorei. Muito pratico.
Great tutorial
Thank you !! 🙏
Very cute can it also be done with out using the s rap wool
Thanks🌹
Great tutorial 👏
Nice❤
Really cool project, did it. But unfortunately mine went little too tight, probably since my yarn is more thick. Good that I have little sister 😊
Oh no, but at least you have someone who can wear it! Just try adding a few rows for the next one- that's should help!
Can you use this "cast off" technique when making hats? Thank you for the tutorial. Great video.
as i am looking at this video i see you put a row counter in the sentro knitting machine do you have a video to show how to replace the row counter on my Sentro i am learning so much from you thank you
Yes I do! 😊 th-cam.com/video/FYjY9LXv3go/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for sharing!!!! Now I'm excited to start working on with my machine. Question, what size yarn did you use or recommend?
Great thank u
Nossa eu amei, obrigada por nos ensinar, gostaria de vê la usando. 🇧🇷
Is there a way to create a tourban, with the same twisted part as you did?😊
Thank you❤❤❤
Love this tutorial! Thank you. Is it possible to use the sentro to make a baby size one?! ❤
Where did you get the digital row counter from
I never seen the yellow stick thing with blue piece where the starter and digital row memory. Do you have video of this how you made it? Because I would like to know.
Yes I do ☺ th-cam.com/video/FYjY9LXv3go/w-d-xo.html
Is the digital counter easy to install? My counter stopped working on my 2nd hat. I ordered a replacement machine but I'm curious if my next will do same if I should have one of these on hand. You give wonderful tutorials! I made 2 hats with this lion brand yarn and they are so soft!
Quick question:
Can you use raw sheep 🐑 wool? The quality would be different ??
Thanks for the video! This is great.
Do you have a link for the digital counter?
You’re so welcome! And yes, I have a whole video about it 😊😊 th-cam.com/video/FYjY9LXv3go/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZLcjhta2ya5tdslf
How did you get the counter attached to the machine
Here's the video all about it: th-cam.com/video/FYjY9LXv3go/w-d-xo.html
I'm new to this. How do I get the yarn off the roll so I don't have to keep stopping and unraveling it? Or is that just what has to happen?
❤❤
I didn't get why add the red yarn then remove at the end?? Beautiful btw.
Makes securing the ends easier and makes it curl a bit less once it's removed
I love the head scarf but it's toooo small. What am I doing wrong. It's very cute and came out fine but too small for my small adult head
Is there an easy way to fix it when the machine skips some stitches? I find myself having to rip it all out and start over.
Do you know how many grams of Heartland we need? I haven't replaced my counter yet. Thanks in advance!
Why you used scrappy yarn first?
Good afternoon,
I am interested in your patterns. Would I be able to sell my finished pieces and give you credit for the pattern? Thank you for your help.
This is more for a small child I made it for my daughter she's 12 it was to tight for her
Which machine are you using can you say?
How do I make it longer to fit around my head. This is way to tight
Just make more rows if you want to make it larger.
Great video! I made it, and it came out looking so nice, but it is too tight for my head. :(
Hate it when that happens! Gift it and add ten rows to hour next one? I hope mine fits
How many rows ?
How can you make a child headband? Is it possible to do it with 48 needle?
I use the same method, but with the 22 needle
My stitches are so so loose
Try threading the yarn through a tighter tension hole on the tension arm, or going through 2 instead of one.
😢i have 23" head but its so small for me hehe
Sharon rademakers leuk sinterklaas feest vragen
It didn’t work so it wasted a whole ball of yarn thanks a lot 😢
i absolutely falied. probably my fault..
i tried again and it came out good 😊
I'm glad it worked out!
Very nice!
Thank you
