Journey to Atlantis roller coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio

The Journey to Atlantis ride begins like a traditional roller coaster, but ends with the drop into the water. Two metal scoops on the back of each boat ensure than an impressive rooster-tail of water is thrown up upon splashdown. The ride is 100 feet tall. Two turntables rotate the boats 90-degrees. All three SeaWorld parks have a water coaster called Journey to Atlantis. This one at Sea World San Antonio opened in 2007. It was built by Germany's Mack Rides GmbH & Co KG.
