- A new take on the Log Flume, Catapult Falls uses a belt to launch riders over a hill. 4K On-Ride Front Row, Catapult Falls new water ride at SeaWorld San Antonio, TX, USA. This log flume uses some trench segments of the previous Arrow-built flume attraction, and adds a vertical lift and launch with two 'airtime' hills. The trims on the hills unfortunately are a big hit, and they do affect the ride experience. #catapultfalls #seaworld #sanantonio #texas #rollercoaster
The ride features a nice steep drop and themed music and setting, a great addition to the park!

Explanation of the sign. San Antonio is in Bexar County. It is pronounced the same as the animal so it an inside joke for the locals.
Somewhere, somehow, someone is going to say “there’s no such animal as a bexar”…
Okay, I was about to suggest that the artist’s graphic design license be revoked...
I live in Dallas and even got the joke immediately. (Maybe because I’m a historian? 😄)

I once rode the log ride at Busch Gardens and the log stopped at the top and the water turned off. They sent someone to help me get down. When the person is about to reach me the water randomly started and I feel back into the log as the log soared all the way down the slide. I could have fallen to my death but there I was. Scary and thrilling at the same time! Don’t know if I’d ever ride that again though!!

Looks quite boring, and not a big soaker. They managed to put TRIMS on a flume! Now these airtime hills look like they don’t do anything lol. At least there’s the launch and lift that are somewhat interesting.
What is your favorite log flume ? Mine is currently Menhir Express at Parc Astérix, wich zips at a good speed through its layout, feels like a river rapids ride most of the time, and has two good drops that get you soaking wet. It does lack a bit of proper theming though.
Average thoosie when a ride operator “staples” them and doesn’t give them 10 inches of airtime

I operated rides at SFOG and Intamin is a maintenance nightmare especially Acrophobia. Another manufacturer is Skyline Attractions because Kid Flash was always having downtime or closed

That lift there looks a bit too narrow. Hopefully those boats are heavy enough to prevent guests from tipping it!

Intamin using elevator lifts is a bit of a necessity for them after the disaster of their log flume at Cedar Point. Their regular lift hill didn’t work so well….

The elevator for the very underwhelming drop seems pointless, should’ve added the standard lift hill which would’ve made it more thrilling

There are drive tires so even if it crawls to the base of the climb without launch being activated it can go up as if it is a tiny lift hill, launch is optional

So say a boat is on the elevator lift and it is on it's way to the top and a bunch of kids think it's funny to try to wobble it. I'm not seeing any guiderails or anything to prevent lateral movement on that section. Ever since the Shoot the Rapids incident I've been very suspicious of Intamin's water attractions.
the boat is on a dry space and balanced. so nothing should happen. Also play stupid games win stupid prices you cant idiot proof everything and ruin it for others
@@aswisshuman637 I'm thinking less of kids being stupid (although kids will be stupid, that's a given) and more of just things happening. Strong wind, or even an earthquake seems like a recipe for disaster.
It's not that the launch isn't cool, I'm just scratching my head at why they would only propel you about 30 feet. Seems like a waste.
