    I 've been "learning" Chemistry since my first year in highschool (my teacher back than was more than amazing), I am now on my third year of studies at the univercity and only now i can say I 've finally FULLY understood what's going on with hybridization !! Congratz !!

      Its the same thing in different iterations. Like orgo is a lot different than 11th grade chem lol.

      I know this is an old comment but it depends on the level. I never took ap chem in high school only regular so i didn't learn this. But my freshman year at veterinary school I had to learn this.

    I have been an ochem tutor for a year and could never fully grasp the concept of orbital hybridization and my professors couldn't explain it well to me either. THIS 16 MIN VIDEO CLEARED UP NEARLY A YEAR OF CHEMISTRY CONFUSION... THANK YOU!!!!

    3 years of community college chemistry classes and I still had no idea how hybridized orbitals worked. 16 minutes of your video cleared that up completely.     Came over here from the official website because I don't have the points to comment yet, but oh my goodness, THANK YOU. Four and a half years of undergraduate studies, a full semester of MCAT review, and I still never understood hybridization and struggled painfully through organic chem. And then around 8 minutes in, I feel like I've had an epiphany. I literally cannot thank you enough.

    Thanks for the explaining. I'm really struggling with Chemistry, I'm doing it in uni (non-elective) and to get my degree I need a basic understanding on Chemistry. However I haven't been to school in awhile, and I think some important bits are left out in the uni classes, like exactly WHAT is an SP3 orbatal. I'm glad your video explained it. :) Makes things easier!

    I have to say the guy who does this video (as he's done many) I love how he repeats what he's writing several times as he writes it out. I have seen a few videos where the person doesn't say a word for like 12 seconds as they write it out and I keep thinking my headphones are dead or my connection was lost but nope... They just haven't said anything. Anyway as I am writing out tests I hear this guys voice in my head saying "this is a 4 bromo.. 4 ... bromo.. 4 bromo this is a 4 bromo hept remember this has 7 has 7 so it's hept..." Then I know I can't go wrong. It's like having this in my test with me. love it!
