Still sounds incredible after all these years absolutely. They made four records in a row in the 60s that were classic in my opinion, ending with to our children’s children’s children.
My parents had this album ... I wasted an entire day looking through Pink Floyd songs without success, then TH-cam algorithm tosses it my way seemingly at random 2 days later. Sometimes the universe throws you a bone. 🥰
t This band ruled my 1970-1974 life. Acid, mescaline, 'Shrooms and a gorgeous Victoria night sky. Can't forget the coaxial speakers that gave us such stoned bliss. Still play this ALOT> Party on!
Too many times radio stations will play this song without Departure which to me kinda ruins the whole experience. I love the way it builds to a crescendo and goes out with the high pitched wail as a lead in. Kudos to you uploader for including Departure as well as the excellent video.
I loved Free Form radio. One of my best radio segues was from The Beatles "Day in The Life" into "Ride My Seesaw" cutting out the end sustain piano note of Day In The Life, directly into the piano/guitar staccato opening, sustain note of Ride My Seesaw. Pretty spectacular. It would freak out my listeners because they were used to hearing that Beatles single, sustained piano note, but got the Moody Blues loud bong instead. That's why I loved Free Form Radio.
@MoodyJill Thank you Jill...This video was a complete delight to make- with Departure and the many audio "colors" thus I had to illustrate in visually and the song that followed is pure classic Moodies song- a dedication to everyone Moodies- listening to this amazing Group- The Moody Blues.
There was a time in space and FM, Progressive Rock radio, long about 1968-69 when all you heard was this song. It was sort of the "Freebird" or "Stairway To Heaven" of its day. And, it was stunning. Where has the time gone?
Still my all time favorite band. After seeing them with a full orchestra back in the early 90's, I said I could die happy now. Superb experience - twice
@Inflec These two selections had to be thought about. In my mind- trying to figure it out until in production which really takes hours and hours until the video is done. All my efforts are for you and everyone else- celebrating this rock band's brilliant works and your experiences of when you heard this past, present and future. I did Procession and Story in Your Eyes...Thank you for your comment!
Two songs that were meant to complement each other, and to be heard that way. Was wondering when you were going to get to these, E.D. Thank you for doing this in their original playing sequence...and for another treat of your exquisite visualizations! (Two thumbs up.) Now you've got to do the same thing for Procession/The Story In Your Eyes. :-)
Up until recently, I had only heard Ride My SeeSaw once or twice, years ago on bad quality AM radio. What a revelation now to hear the clarity of that driving beat and that awesome guitar riff and tone.
These guys were one of my favorite trip toys back in the days of "Flight Director" Timothy Leary, LSD-25 and sensory deprivation ... Makes my heart skip a beat just thinking about it ~~~~~~
And what beautiful trips they must have been. I only tripped once and loved it. I only wish I'd been listening to the Moody's although "Their Satanic Majesty's Request" by the Stones was pretty incredible.
BillShane--- I'm a huge MB fan, so pardon me while I take exception to your assessment of Ray's playing. His playing was just adequate and FAR from "second to none". This sort of religious zeal drove the Moodys nuts. Fine to be a fan of something that upgrades one's life, but watch & listen with clarity.
Recall listening to this whole album and On the Threshold of a Dream the first time I ever dropped acid. Perfect music for that experience. Thanks again Scotty wherever you are
Why are the Moody Blues not yet inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. This early psychedelic band should have been inducted 30 years ago. Any Pink Floyd or Doors fan out there. Just listen to their stuff. They are fantastic. But not recognized. Strange.
They are too good for the Rock & Roll HOF, especially the best lineup (Pinder-Thomas-Hayward-Lodge-Edge). Hopefully someday, there will be a hall, museum and shrine just for them. And all the rest can be on the outside looking in, wishing they could have been this good.
Who cares? That's not what is important. Anyone who really listens to The Moody Blues would realize that the silliness of the Hall of Fame is NOT important. What is important is that YOU know of them and recognize them. What more is there? Cheers!
very purty song! ... and you're video compliments it wonderfully. had to share it on my FaceBook with my other ol' hippie freek friends. thank you. 8~>
I just heard Church Bells ringing. Angles in session, fly. Ride on high. Holy, Holy,Holy. Bless Me Father, for i have sinned. I forgive all Sin, by the Power of the Holy spirit of my Father.
I love these 2 songs, as they go hand in hand, like ZZ Top's "Jesus Just Left Chicago and Just Got Paid", Led Zeppelin's "Heart Breaker and Living Loving Maid," and Queen's "We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions"
And CTV"s Canada AM used this as a Theme for their opening in an instrumental version right after the Moody Blues said after the Lyric "I work like a slave for years, sweat so hard just to end my fears, not to end my life a poor man But by now I know I should have run"!!!
One, two, three, four Ride, ride my see-saw Take this place on this trip just for me Ride, take a free ride Take my place, have my seat, it's for free I worked like a slave for years, sweat so hard just to end my fears Not to end my life a poor man but by now I know I should have grown Run, run my last race, take my place, have this number of mine Run, run like a fire, don't you run in, in the lanes, run for time Left school with a first class pass, started work but it's second class School taught one and one is two but right now that answer just ain't true My world is spinnin around, everything is lost that I found People run, come ride with me, let's find another place that's free Ride, ride my see-saw Take this place on this trip just for me Ride, take a free ride Take my place, have my seat, it's for free Ride, my see-saw Ride, ride Ride my see-saw
E.D. - Another fantastic video. Just love it. How can I string together a set-list of your videos?? You certainly have the best videos of my favorite all time band/music. Thank You
Listen carefully, its not "Or the strength of an arquebus deep in the ground." Its clearly "Or the strength of an oak with roots deep in the ground." Many lyric sites have it wrong.
Brilliant clip man - made me like the music even more than if I'd just heard it alone, or with only one photo. By the way, "dignities" is the spelling.
I’ve got Nothing Against Wealthy People Flying Jets and “ Pretending “ their for “ Clean Air. “ I Would Rather Drive a Car, Supporting “ Mom & Pop Businesses, “ amen.
I'm just rediscovering the Moody Blues after having dismissed them as pseudomystical psychobabblers on the strength (or otherwise) of their big hit , Nights In White Satin. Led Zep got stuffed in the same category, not helped by my sister playing Stairway To Heaven for the trillionth time, but unlike them the MBs have clearly turned out some quite tuneful rockers that I overlooked. sorry, guys!
12 years old and I bought the 45 in the markdown bin as a cutout. That was my intro to MBs. Ride My See Saw still rocks 😅
Wanna take a ride?? Remember this as some of Art Bell's bumper music from Coast To Coast AM. . what an awesome song!
Still sounds incredible after all these years absolutely. They made four records in a row in the 60s that were classic in my opinion, ending with to our children’s children’s children.
Magnificent song and harmony! The Moody Blues were Titans of Talent back then.
My parents had this album ... I wasted an entire day looking through Pink Floyd songs without success, then TH-cam algorithm tosses it my way seemingly at random 2 days later. Sometimes the universe throws you a bone. 🥰
Pink Floyd?
That maniacal laugh at the end of "Departure" is worthy of the Joker himself! 😁
Moody Blues always fantastic and this is one of their best! Thank you for sharing and God bless all from Patrick
Ride My Seesaw. Harmony is great. Justin and John make it happen on guitar. Great lead solo for 1967
Dramatic , inspiring , spine tingling , always smooth , what can I say- first listened to them 45 years ago - still affects me today . Wales UK.
Cleanest version, no glitch, ending not cut off, best graphics. Top notch👍
If it flows into Dr. Livingstone I Presume

This band ruled my 1970-1974 life. Acid, mescaline, 'Shrooms and a gorgeous Victoria night sky. Can't forget the coaxial speakers that gave us such stoned bliss.
Still play this ALOT>
Party on!
Bose 901 speakers and Infiniti towers...
The Moody Blues are just amazing!
Too many times radio stations will play this song without Departure which to me kinda ruins the whole experience. I love the way it builds to a crescendo and goes out with the high pitched wail as a lead in. Kudos to you uploader for including Departure as well as the excellent video.
Just like Led Zeppelin Livin loving maid
@@cindydufala7646or zzTOP
This song was way ahead of it's time . That crashing cymbal makes me look for a seat belt , to buckle in and lift-off and Fly...
Departure with Seesaw is better than PB and Jelly
They think that part is too disturbing but I'm sure the whole song is about drug use and the whole song's been played on rock stations for years.
I loved Free Form radio. "To lie in a meadow and hear the grass sing" is my favorite line.
@MoodyJill Thank you Jill...This video was a complete delight to make- with Departure and the many audio "colors" thus I had to illustrate in visually and the song that followed is pure classic Moodies song- a dedication to everyone Moodies- listening to this amazing Group- The Moody Blues.

Hello...GereDJ2,,,I wonder everyday at 65...you a DJ ? I am......
They were inducted to the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame last year 2018
Veteran Cosmic Rockers - people will still be rocking to this song 1000 years from now.
Still my all time favorite band. After seeing them with a full orchestra back in the early 90's, I said I could die happy now. Superb experience - twice

Wonderful thank you.
I put this song on immediately after I had an introspective journey with 🍄🍄🍄
Kinda a Don Juan's Yaqui Indian, way of knowledge thing...
Wow!!!
Wow. Just came across this. I had this album on an 8-track and would listen to it through headphones late at night.
Thank you Kindly- I just love creating videos and hearing The Moody Blues!
GODS of rock harmony

A masterpiece!
Nothing today compares....PERIOD !

Great work EsssentialDegnities ..yea, man.
Love this song have not heard it in years.
How many? I'm 51 and have heard this on rock and classic rock stations for years.
40+ years on and they still have it.
Sad to hear of Ray Thomas' passing. His flute work was second to none. Thanks for all the great marijuana sights & sounds you gave me.
These guys were one of my favorite trip toys back in the days of "Flight Director" Timothy Leary, LSD-25 and sensory deprivation ... Makes my heart skip a beat just thinking about it ~~~~~~

Great LP by the Stones - I've listened to it many times when I was, "10,000 Light Years From Home" ... ;-)

They FINALLY made it.

Beautiful
I love this awesome song! I played it earlier today!! : )
Excellent as usual.

This was allot of fun to make. Thank you for the comment.
@AislinnWildrose Thank you... I Love this all time favorite Moodies Song!
Thank you.

Got in the R&R HOF before the Moody Blues
Well of course.... absolutely fabulous. Music for the soul.
An excellent video creation. Many thanks for the great upload. ♥

Most Awesome VId!!!!!!!!!!
Timeless!
Acids kickin in,
Very nice, "Essential". Once again.
Yeah. In harmony!
" The WONDER of violets to be covered and then to burst up, through tarmac, to the SUN AGAIN!"
The wonder of flowers . (could be violets if ya like -Birmingham accent is difficult unless you're used to it .)
I love these 2 songs, as they go hand in hand, like ZZ Top's "Jesus Just Left Chicago and Just Got Paid", Led Zeppelin's "Heart Breaker and Living Loving Maid," and Queen's "We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions"
You mean Waiting For The Bus & Jesus Just Left Chicago
Arthur F. Scaltrito Thank you
I played both back in the 70's in a bar band..
That's how I knew..
Dont forget Feeling That Way and Anytime.
Art is back, and has it as his opening music for his new show.
FIRST THE DEEP WORDS OF THAN THE BRILLIANCE OF FAST PACED PERFECTLY TIMED SONG!
GIDDY UP
And CTV"s Canada AM used this as a Theme for their opening in an instrumental version right after the Moody Blues said after the Lyric "I work like a slave for years, sweat so hard just to end my fears, not to end my life a poor man But by now I know I should have run"!!!
One, two, three, four
Ride, ride my see-saw
Take this place on this trip just for me
Ride, take a free ride
Take my place, have my seat, it's for free
I worked like a slave for years, sweat so hard just to end my fears
Not to end my life a poor man but by now I know I should have grown
Run, run my last race, take my place, have this number of mine
Run, run like a fire, don't you run in, in the lanes, run for time
Left school with a first class pass, started work but it's second class
School taught one and one is two but right now that answer just ain't true
My world is spinnin around, everything is lost that I found
People run, come ride with me, let's find another place that's free
Ride, ride my see-saw
Take this place on this trip just for me
Ride, take a free ride
Take my place, have my seat, it's for free
Ride, my see-saw
Ride, ride
Ride my see-saw
Sweet Vid!!!!!!!
wow!!! this is pretty good....
