I never knew that Justin Hayward was such badass guitarist until just recently. I always knew he was the face of the band and always thought he sat or stood behind the microphone only. That was from the lack of old footage back then and I just now found it. That is a great lead guitar arrangement by any standard. Justin not only has a beautiful voice, he can also make that Fender beg for mercy!

I Agree with you full-heartedly!!! Moody Blues forever in my heart and sout!! This song is a gem - whatch Justin play that guitar during the instrumental part of it - wow - what talent - all of them!!!
My favourite songs- period. Been listening to it since 68.. Moody Blues were ahead of its time, and yet they're still relevant to today. Shame they don't make music like this anymore.
you have to remember the year and the era too really enjoy this song including the departure too really grasp where we were at this time.I would set my record player on repeat so I could listen to this album all night long.
@@carolbellas3564 I seem to remember in an interview with the band that Graeme did actually go through a "Ringo phase" for a short time. I understand that he and Ringo were actually quite good friends.
Yes, the Rock & Roll induction brought me to here. I’ve heard this song for years. I was 7 years old when this song came out. Just the sound of this song takes you back to the 60’s. It’s a time & place & a sound that can never be duplicated. 👍🏻
It was indeed a special moment in time. We should just be grateful that the technology existed at the time to capture the essence of it in such great detail, and that the technology exists today to preserve it perfectly forever.
In Search of the Lost Chord was the first Moodie LP I bought back in the early 70s. I remember hearing "Question" on AM radio in 69 or 70. Blew me away. But I didn't buy any of their music until I heard ISOTLC second side on a underground FM radio show in 1971. Voices in the Sky, The best way to travel, etc....
great song! i have just started to get into the moody blues,i can just about remember this song when it was first released in the 60s. watch the moody blues part 1 and 2 live in concert 1968 french tv for one of their best gigs ever!!
welcome aboard! i had a girlfriend way back in 1975 that exposed me to the MB's. They're the best, ever. If you want a condensed "greatest hits" double album set, purchase : This is The Moody Blues" it's got so many wonderful songs and edited perfectly
I like the sound of the ascending keyboard intro to the song ,it reminds me of the 60's starship enterprise whenever captain kirk tells scotty to go to warp speed, wonder if they got the ascending keyboard sound at the beginning of the song because they might have been star trek fans themselves
@@drivinsouth651 This is absolutely not live in the BBC studios. It's the album version of the song we've all heard a million times which was recorded at Decca Studios. Cool vid though.

I dont know what I'm enjoying more here, watching Graeme drum or watching Ray dance.

He should've added an extra pick-up to that Strat. No worries, though. It sounds fabulous just with the one.

Saw them twice. AWESOME both times. Have several vinyls. Treasure them.

**GREW UP WITH THIS PLAYING ON THE STEREO EVERY FUCKING DAY!! WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT!!**
This song's arrangement and vocal echoes are perfect. No other song could do thsi. If you're thinking Beach Boy's, heroes and villains. ..no .

Just saying.

Been listening to a good few of these tonight, and they have been a treat, great memories!
The Amazing times of Standard Musicians..
Love love love this song and video
Groovy song and video.
They did all of this without the benefit of auto-tune. Just think about that for a minute. Fuck auto-tune! This is art!
Awesome vid
RIP Graeme Edge
Top tune thanks x
Those boys could play.
RIP Ray Thomas
I wonder if I even knew about his death at the time. But also, rest in peace to Graeme Base too.
Real music. Fab.
Love this video. Justin and John were so cute. Love to watch Ray!!!
John 💕
this is actually pretty hilarious to watch. Love the tune though!
Thanks TinyMontgomery204 for posting not just "Ride My Seesaw" but the essential prelude, "Departure"...
To set the record straight, it was Mike Pinder who read Graeme Edge's poems on Moody Blues LPs.
That's true but Graeme did do Departure himself.
This is real fuckin music folks
They are my knights inn white satin. ❤️
Once again, it's those early "wireless" guitars and mics. LOL.

They lip-synched very well, didn't they? Great song, though, and interesting to see them at this age.
I was thinking the same thing!
far out
Lip synch but still a great song
