    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    First Man: I think, I think I am, therefore I am, I think.
    Establishment: Of course you are my bright little star,
    I've miles
    And miles
    Of files
    Pretty files of your forefather's fruit
    and now to suit our
    great computer,
    You're magnetic ink.
    First Man: I'm more than that, I know I am, at least, I think I must be.
    Inner Man: There you go man, keep as cool as you can.
    Face piles
    And piles
    Of trials
    With smiles.
    It riles them to believe
    that you perceive
    the web they weave
    And keep on thinking free.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    A wonderful day for passing my way.
    Knock and my door and even the score
    With your eyes.
    Lovely to see you again my friend.
    Walk along with me to the next bend.
    Dark cloud of fear is blowing away.
    Now that you're hear, you're going to stay
    'cause it's
    Lovely to see you again my friend.
    Walk along with me to the next bend.
    Tells us what you've seen in
    faraway forgotten lands.
    Where empires have turned back to sand.
    Wonderful day for passing my way.
    Knock and my door and even the score
    With your eyes.
    Lovely to see you again my friend.
    Walk along with me to the next bend.

    Trust me. At 63 I've come to realize a group like the Moody Blues doesn't come around once in a generation, but once in a lifetime.

I'm glad I had a really cool set of parents that played music like this that enriched and guided me. I can think of only a handful of groups like the moodies that can take you on a trip with or without psychedelics. I have PTSD and these guys have saved me from destruction many times. Yes, I still believe we can change the world, but the opportunity is slipping away.
      LSD was a very useful tool. But the movement was hijacked with STP. That's what messed up Syd Barret. Military intelligence, social engineering. Same shit, different day...
      I'm 42 now and have responsibly tried many illegal drugs. I am a musician and rate The Moody Blues as a very sincere effort of expression and exploration. Progressive rock pioneers really. I wish I had been born in the '50s. They really did squash the vibe. They murdered Jimi Hendrix, amongst others. I'm convinced after 6 years of research, that Paul McCartney was bumped off. Social engineering.
      Look at this now.
      Dirty bastards.

    Having discovered this group in the 60s, to this day i can not stop talking up their work. Aside from their musicianship and songwriting impressing me beyond words, I believe their spiritual and philosophical insights on simple life and love have affected more people more deeply, then they may ever come to know. For a civilization whose future is not guaranteed, they likely have helped it survive to see 2020, and beyond.

      Yes, a nice sorta appreciation but with no depth. One must have spiritual practices to reach the higher states of consciousness where the Moody's came from. Then it's timeless, universal, transcendental.

      David Ray once pinder was replaced because of issues with edge, they were never the same , because of the mellotron sound . Still love them. The Beatles are # 1 but the moody are 1A.

    Nicely done video! Suddenly I'm 17 again seeing the Moodies in an arena of 14,000, all of us higher than a kite. They opened with this and holy God they just took your head right off your shoulders. I know they got all symphonic PBS and such but I promise you on the first five or six US tours they rocked, they took the roof off. Maybe someday Justin will get credit for his AMAZING guitar work... and Mike Pinder for that very first mastery of the Mellotron...

    It goes without saying that this is one of the best of many great songs by the MB. Being in college when this album first came out, I felt that the "evil computer" versus "cool guy" conversation was a little overdone. Back then there were amy number of science fiction stories about bad computers, everywhere from "2001" to some Monkees episodes. But now some TH-cam algorithm does" know" what I like and "suggests" things that I would have probably gone to anyhow. Maybe. Truth always being scarier than fiction. Still, one of my favorite songs. Thanks for posting.

    Please don't ask which is my favorite Moody Blues album...I can't answer. Each
    one is unique and touches you differently. The lyrics are both powerful and
    sublime. The music captures your emotions and senses...addictive in a very
    positive way. This is music for the ages...as it always has been.

    I was born the year this came out. I remember hearing the start of the intro and it scaring me, just feom the background noise and the dialogue starting. Of course, the song begins and it isn't scary at all, but I can still remember the fear and excitement of hearing the start for the first time. My parents were listening to it in a darkened room.

    Discovered the Moody Blues in a used record store while at college in the late 70s. Their initial popularity had waned by then. Lucky for me as I was able travel through their discography of powerfully melodic and profound lyrics on a budget. Their work still inspires introspection about the many questions our existence presents. I may not have found all the answers, but I have the wisdom of this band as a guide.
    There you go man. Keep as cool as you can. Face piles of trials with smiles. It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave and keep on thinking free
