$400 Chair, Wheels broke after 60 days, Luckily I found this video right away, definitely helped me calm down ! Solved all of my questions thanks so much !
Oh man! That comment took a turn for the better mid way through, lol. I’m half asleep after work reading this thinking “oh damn, this guys about to rip me apart” haha. Glad I could help man!
@@qwazyd0gg Received the 5 new wheels today from amazon, Definitely worth every penny ! Even on Carpet its so easy to move my chair in closer to my desk without having to worry about the wheels getting caught and the chair falling over.
These are (hands down) amazing. I have a very old house with wooden floors and I bought these to be quieter but moving around is so smooth and effortless now. Yeah, well worth it.
I’d reach out and see if there’s any guarantee against that. It’s a pretty shocking circumstance as mine are still going strong without issue years after making this video.

I see those Rollerblade from amazon. So I decided, to buy it for my mum because she doesn't want to damage to her carpet. So, the next day morning it has arrived so I fit it on her office chair and it works and she loved it. It so better then the old ones. So next time I get one for my gaming chair as well too. ^.^
I have a set of these rollerblade caster wheels. They were great as new. After years has gone by, a lot of hair, oily dust accumulates on these wheels. The problem now is how to maintain to pristine condition if I cannot pry them off the caster????? I only wish is that these wheels can be disassembled easily like a rollerblade skates would and can change the bearings you wish to do so. This type of rollerblade caster wheels are fixed
That’s a true statement. Honestly, I’ve been using the same wheels daily without fault since producing the video; however, I keep my office very tidy and my dogs and kids don’t often occupy this space, so keeping them clean has never been an issue. At worst case, another $35 investment in full replacement years later would not be a concern for me since they yield so many benefits to warrant the cost of replacement if needed.
I paid a little less for another brand. I'm on short carpet with very little cushion. The chair would rather flip over than change directions. Says glides smooth on all surfaces, checked all wheels for defects and seating problems, have to return.
A lot of times with office chairs, I encounter some resistance when I all of a sudden want to move in the opposite direction. It takes a second for the casters to swivel 180°, and while the casters are pivoting, I encounter a significant increase in resistance until the casters complete their rotation, and then they can roll freely. When changing directions 180°, do you also experience an increase in resistance? This is always been an issue for me. Thanks!
Sometimes yes. Sometimes I have to give it a extra little nudge to get it moving in the right direction depending of the caster alignment , but I’ve never met an office chair that didn’t have the same issue.
samee! I've actually been thinking about going BACK to the crappy regular wheels because I can't remember there having been THIS much resistance when turning..And it was bad enough (like, "pushing my desk away instead of the chair when trying to move"-kind of bad) for me to wanna go back in case it helps. Well, so far I'm stuck at being unable to get any of the wheels out, so.. I'll update if every I can manage
Nope, they get a lot of hair and pet fur caught in them. However i've noticed some people will use a kit of different sized/shaped tweezers to clean that pretty effectively. Got one ordered today 👍
I bought a Boulies gaming chair, i love it but is too short for my desktop, I was planing on buying a taller gas cylinder, but this is cheaper, i may try the casters first
@@qwazyd0gg well after 2 years and a ton or hair stuck inside, and no idea how to remove them, you'll see that those weels are not that great, and harder to clean that regular one :|
I haven’t had to clean mine yet and they’re still gliding along very well. I do have luxury vinyl flooring that I sweep often in my office due to having two dogs. Maybe it would be worse with less upkeep or carpets. Honestly if they ever did get terrible I’d probably just replace them due to low cost vs try to clean them if they’re that cumbersome
how do you not research average desk heights before building one lol. I even use 3d software to simulate and measure spaces and stuff like that, tinkercad, its browser based and very easy to use.
I rolled up to where the desk would have been and marked my ideal height… but then put the brace and cross section on that same line instead of under it, so my height increased by both the width and thickness of a 2x4 in addition to the partial board and laminate floor top lol. I was rebuilding by myself after an uninsured flood and unfortunately thought more about speed and cost than actual quality of work 😅
I Just Ordered Me A Set Of The LifeLong Brand Ones On Amazon For 31$ Hopefully They Will Roll From My Hard floor On To My Carpet Without Getting Stuck On The Carpets Edge Like The Standard Casters Do.
I'd avoid these if you have a plastic base, the offset in the wheels and post applies a lot of pressure to your base and unless its a form of metal it will likely snap it.
Very helpful! Thank you! Happy to sub :) Question: Do you find that they can be too smooth at times? I'm looking at getting the rollerblade-style casters for my office chair but wonder if they will often slide when i dont want them to. Would you recommend the kind with brakes or is that unecessary? Thanks!
Yes, I do find at times they’ll roll a small bit if your floors are uneven; however, I just give my butt a little flick (lol) and it will move the position of the casters so they orient away from the dip in my floor. You can get units with breaks, but I think they’re unnecessary.
Seriously, you don't. These are crap. They don't last if you're heavy. For skinny people, yes, go for it. If you're big, forget it. They last about two weeks.
I haven’t had to grease mine yet, so I’m not sure how to take them apart. If you think they may be defective I would reach out to the manufacturer to go over warranty options.
Too bad I couldn’t talk in the thumbnail too :( Great feedback though honestly. I appreciate you taking the time. Hopefully you still got value out of the end content my friend. Happy holidays
Their useless. Their stamp pressed together that loosens the top bearing after time. They swing way off center that twists the legs making the problem worse. Wheels are so big they raise the seat height center of gravity quite a bit creating even more twisting leverage on the flimsy stamped pegg roller bearing. The wheels with their bearings are great but the rest is cheap Chinese self destructing crap that lasted me a year before they started sagging so bad the chair wouldn't roll stuck in place.
No lock or break on these models. I’ve never felt that one was needed on my luxury vinyl flooring. Due to their point on contact they grip fairly snugly in place but will move freely when/if needed

Lmfao!

I wonder if these would damage vinyl flooring planks.
We have 2 chairs on luxury vinyl flooring and no issues yet!
This is the answer that I came here looking for. I have new LVP and wanted to see if these wheels would damage them. Thanks!

Haven’t tried on carpet as we have none in the house anymore. Wonder if the underlay was too soft causing the point on the wheels to grab sideways

I briefly show it in this video. Just grab and pull straight out. Use your free hand as a sort of hammer if needed
@@qwazyd0gg oooo thank you brother. So much
Are these wheel casters universal fit? I own a secretlab titan chair.
As far as I know yes, providing the chair uses standard posts. IKEA chairs don’t; however, I’m sure SL will be standard sizing.
@@qwazyd0gg thank you for the reply!!
Since I got these after a month my new chair squeaks through the base. How do I fix it?
What do you mean by through the base? Is it the compressed rubber wheel squeaking, or the base of the actual chair?
Do these make rolling on carpet easier?
Much easier!
@@qwazyd0gg thanks great review
I got a GT OMEGA SPORT chair does it fit on it aswel?
I believe so. From what I’ve heard, they’re only issue has been proprietary ikea bases

do these work on any chair that uses casters or just this chair
They are pretty universal for most chairs
$40?? I bought a set (5 pcs.) for around $4.56. Not branded, but I think it's just exactly the same one as yours.
That’s crazy cheap!

how do you clean them from the hair stuck in the wheels?
