Yeah they do strike a good balance with the dialogue. I always admired Law & Ordere ability to not only show you what these characters go through but how they tell it through their conversation's.
@@Japan705 It also never felt like I was getting an exposition of everything going on. They always left enough out for you to follow and come to your own conclusions... much like a really good mystery novel does. Leads you to the end but without telling you how it will end until your there.

Lol...the doctor's diaglue is absolutely absurd. I loved this show as a kid and still do, but I definitely notice that now, as someone studying law in college 😛. Why is he talking like he's being questioned at a bodega? "They wanna get preganant, bada bing bada boom!!"

This video reminds me of an incident that happened not too long ago. A woman was arrested for a hit-and-run. When she came out of the nightclub she found her car windshield was damaged. She called the police. It so happened around the same time there was a hit-in-run in that area. The police said she did it. Even though she told the police that she was at this establishment all night, her friends said she wasn't involved. Police always have a theory of what happened and will work their cases around that theory so it will fit. Anyway, they arrested her, booked her, and charged her for the hit-and-run. Not once looking into her story. It turned out they were video of someone jumping on her car and breaking her window, they never talk to anyone at that club, and they dismissed her witness testimony. She sued and won 200K. They didn't take any steps to learn the truth!
The cops who arrested her should have had to pay that thenselves. Itsucjs they have immunity

You concede the point that outside influences can cause miscarriage by starting with *"almost all"*

Wouldn't 'something' qualify both external and internal?
If an external action didn't cause a miscarriage, it would have to be an internal cause. Something with the woman's reproductive system.
@@JenX_1973 Most early miscarriages aren't the woman's reproductive system. Most are non-viable fetuses that have genetic errors and don't increase the risk of the repeats (aka, not the woman)
very true, my mom played softball in the early stages of pregnancy (up to 10 weeks) and my sisters and i all turned out fine even with the running, sliding, and just constant movement of softball

@@brians48now Because they said “a woman can’t be elected president because once a month she might freak and push the button” before that they were talking about how she was pumped with estrogen. The hormone that would make a woman moody or “freak” once a month is actually progesterone, which is mainly testosterone, the hormone that’s produced at high levels in males, versus females with higher levels of estrogen. Basically, it’s not “female” hormones that make us moody it’s “male” ones...males make us moody. 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
That doctor is so oblivious he honestly believes the women who come to him tell him EVERYTHING. He was right about one thing, he is the last resort for so many women. It's because he's the last resort that they'll withhold any information they think would cause him to turn them away after the first appointment.
Oh trust me, this guy wouldn't turn anyone away. If you think he's egotistical after this clip, you won't believe what was revealed about him later in the episode.
He is doing it on purpose.

The actor playing the part of the male OB/GYN also played the part of the Mayor of New York City in the first two Ghostbuster movies. It took me a few ticks to figure out why he looked and sounded familiar.

The likelihood is there may have been an actual doctor in the New York tri-sate area with the same name as the original character and after the show was shot (or just that scene) there was a fear of a lawsuit if they followed through and quickly changed the name and ADR'd the name.

Chris Noth got his first recognizable job as Mike Logan. A New York native who can give that authentic vibe of a homicide detective. He's done other things, but his work in the Law & Order franchise is his best.

I think they shot the episode with a different name for the doctor, and then found out during production that there was a real doctor named that and had to change the name in post everywhere it appeared.
I always get kind of a chuckle when the MEs on this show demo-attack the detectives, keep 'em on their toes lol
Whenever theirs a fertility or cancer doctor and they always say "im their last chance"-turns out their involved and psycho
Well, that's generally because those patients are the most desperate...so the least likely to think clearly... and so the most vulnerable to con men

Any time ANY character in this clip says the name "Delbert" - it's dubbed over. It's more obvious for some than others, but they've dubbed over the name 100% of the time.

I love how they get a Jewish actor to talk about confession and then have a follow up conversation about nuns.
Briscoe was Jewish, but, as we learn in a later season, he was raised Catholic.
And Logan was raised Catholic.
My favorite duo is Lenny and Detective Green. I actually burst out crying when detective Green left. I shocked myself. 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏽♀️😂
The writers destroyed the character's reputation out of nowhere. Why'd Green have to turn out to be corrupt? He was one of the most honorable and decent detectives on the show up until that episode.

@@mew10521 He covered up a crime. That's what the whole episode was about. Covering up a crime (in my eyes) is a corrupt act, especially when committed by someone who's taken an oath to uphold the law.

Go to the clip where the wife is shot, half the comment section is full of idiots who immediately assume the husband is guilty because they've basically been told all their lives that woman can never be guilty of anything.

The doctor also played the mayor in Ghostbusters and his name was also Lenny. Kind of interesting.
Love the M.E.'s reenactment of events, really gives them a good idea of how it went down.

He didn't divorce her. He just moved out to cool down the situation...
I think he did care about her but she had reached a point where she was too deranged to deal with.

I used to watch Guiding Light a very long time ago. The actor whose wife was “pregnant” in this episode of law and order played Billy Lewis on GL. Back in the early ‘90s, billy Lewis’ wife, Nadine, faked a pregnancy. Just thought this was ironic.

What an eerily accurate first line for Delbert.
Law and Order SVU has worked with this story a few times. It isn't as shocking as it was when it was first presented here.
Yeah i remember svu episode. Sometimes i feel bad for such couples who try too hard to get pregnant and have bio children and in their desperation gets tricked by such scam doctors.

I'm just glad the Dad/Husband isn't the bad guy in this. Often times the husband or father is always the bad guy, which isn't true at all.
