Rule #1, it's always the most recognisable guest actor who's guilty.
Laura Linney. As soon as I saw her, I knew she wasn't there for a small role.
yeah as soon as i saw (girl from love actually) i knew she wasnt innocent
Back then she was kinda in the beginning of her career.
I always say that! I call it the "Where do I know him/her from?" rule. If they're a big enough actor to land the role, but not big enough that the casting director thinks people will recognize them, they're the killer.
Of course "L&O" gets big enough actors that you recognize them.
On SVU, Frank Langela wasn't guilty.
"I, on the other hand, have a wife."
"My condolences." The Incomparable Lenny Briscoe!
A lot of likes and no comments? Let me fix that!
They always give him the best lines. One clip I saw yesterday was where he was asking a woman how tall the guy was, she said “5’ 12”” and he said “that’s good.” 😂
1 of my favourite lines by him "There's this great Jewish conspiracy to knock off the black man, one by one. That's why they all drive big Cadillacs, so they can't miss"
I work in hospital and you would be amazed how many people don’t have IDs. Kids always have something on you!
What country are you from?
In America, hospital employees have to wear ID badges. It's a federal law...
@@Deborahtunes They're talking about the patients, not the staff.
@@abhishekrao1525 ~ I'm aware of that. But they are also talking about adults in general. I don't know any adults who don't have some form of identification in the US. That's why I am thinking the commentator is maybe from another country...
@@Deborahtunes I am in America and yes I mean customers who come in wanting records sometimes don’t have ids
@deborah78.crystalball It was an expression. When he said kids, he meant people in general.
He is speaking to the class, us "the kids", to inform us of the importance of keeping a form of ID on us at all times.
Lab guy: John Scurti (Rescue Me, Marvelous Mrs Meisel)
Waitress: Aida Turturro (Sopranos)
Suspect: Laura Linney
Lawyer: Ron Orbach (cousin of Jerry Orbach)
Good line up!
Waitress: Aida Turturro (Sopranos)
Wait. She and John are related?
Cousins. John’s younger brother is Nick Turturro who was on NYPD Blue.
I knew that was Janice!
Ron orbach is giving me Harvey feuerstein vibes.
Rest in peace 🙏
Jerry Orbach

19+ yrs ago? Yikes!!
We all recognize the actress who played Janice on the Sopranos, but I also see the actor who played the mafioso who died on the toilet; he's the guy who hands the lead detectives a paper and says, "the forensics are in."
Profacci!
she was also the annoying office lady when Benjamin Bratt was Orbach's partner.
He was Gigi in the Sopranos. Profacci or “Profach” on this show until he killed someone in the Law & Order TV movie.
This was a very interesting episode, spoilers for the episode:
Martha later claims that she worked for Hayashi two years prior in Japan, however he refused to pay her and held her passport ransom and would pimp her out to clients. She eventually escaped but Hayashi pretty much got away with it. Her version of events is that she went to his hotel room just to talk, taking the gun as protection, but at some point blacked out and doesn't recall shooting him even in self-defense.
The thing is, Martha's entire story and demeanor are textbook Battered Woman Syndrome traits, as in literally textbook, several books on the subject were found in Martha's apartment, so the prosecutor thinks she's faking all the symptoms to play off sympathy. There is also an undercurrent of anti-Japanese sentiment because of comments about how patriarchal Japan is and how women, even visiting women, are treated very poorly. Ultimately the judge instructs the jury to cast their verdict without taking into account Hayashi's nationality, but they still end up acquitting Martha of wrongdoing.
We never really know if Martha was telling the truth that Hayashi held her hostage and pimped her out, although there is that one interesting line from the brunette call-girl, how Hayashi complained he 'never had to pay for it before' and was not used to being turned down.
Thank you so much
Bad taste for murder
Wasn't this the episode where the suspect was played by Laura Linney?
@@nicholasmaude6906 You mean the actress we just saw playing the role of the woman being arrested... yeah, that's the one. 🙄
@@JohnCooper-gm6mn I just noticed I'd accidentally left out "By" from the sentence. Yes, I meant she was played by Laura Linney.
At the beginning: "Any way to find out what room this belongs too?" Every single person who worked in a hotel before. "Yes absolutely! It's a security precaution that we can read ALL our key cards!" Ah...the "reality" of TV shows with police officers. 😆
Should still be able to check it on the machine that makes them in the first place.
I don't know why he said no, since the next scene they are in the bloody room anyway.
It’s a good policy, though, and would make sense if hotels do it that way. I mean, imagine getting mugged, they get your hotel key, and could find out their room and rob them again. Or worse.
22 ways to leave your lover - Lenny did not have ALL the great lines.
You can always tell who did it rewatching old law and order, the second a before-they-were-famous person wanders in.
Bro she was super famous before this she was a scream queen
@@Chevalier_knightbro, idk who you’re talking about but Laura Linney was not “super famous” in 1995.
@@abermen youre right i confused her from the blond in reanimator
Oh look, actress who becomes much more famous later -- she did it!!
The blonde woman at the bar setting up the pool table was Hynden Walch, Best known for playing Starfire on Teen Titans and its successor, Teen Titans Go!
Oh my god!
No wonder she sounded familiar!
Ok That's really very scary that you would know something like that.
@@aspenrebel not really if you know what the voice actor looks like or sounds like
@@torakunoichi No! That's scary.
Good to see Janice has a stable job after her husband Bobby died, whatever happened there.
This was before Bobby. It was after she left Harpo with his dad in Canada. She drifted around for a few years. Did odd jobs like bartender, etc. Then her mom's health started to decline so she went back to Jersey to cash in...I mean take care of her.
She became a judge after Bobby died. I think she figured that getting to rule over a courtroom suited her personality.
WHATEVER HAPPENED THERE?!?!?!?
ILL TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENED THERE
I love how everyone recognizes her from the Sopranos, but I recognize her from her short stint in Brooklyn 99
4:28 I wonder what Tony would think of Janice talking to the cops?
Jerry Orbach Voice Of Lumiere R.I.P Actor/Voice Actor In Beauty And The Beast 1991
I remember this case. She was found "Not Guilty".
Laura Linney AND Aida Turturro. Star studded episode
"...I on the other hand, have a wife!"
"My condolences..."
I lost it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This case it makes me more questions as i saw more than once a time
Way to not wear any glove while handling evidence, guys!
Was not even looking at the screen and I hear at 4:28 Janice Under the board walk with dudes lmao Wonder if this was before sopranos took off
What a good cast. We got Sopranos and Rescue Me cast members
And Chuck Cooper as the agent! Woohoo!!
So that's where Janice Soprano hid after Richie Aprile.
*physically examines body*
"Dead Body": Stop it, I'm ticklish!
Does Tony know Janice is working as a waitress in New York? Isn't she supposed to be taking care of her mother or something?
Tonys sister got a job ??😂😂😂😂
My condolences 😂😂
It’s Vartan Dadian at the golf club!!!
Something tells me that Mr Big is gonna be getting a visit from SVU 🤫
Janice finally decided to find some normal job, good for her!
I vaguely remember this episode....I believe in the end shes found not guilty.
I believe that McCoy says "if you are going to play stickball in Schenectady you better learn Queensbury rules..."
It's Mary Ann Singleton from "Tales of the City." She definitely should have stayed in SF. Mrs. Madrigal and the gang must be heartbroken.
And she got off...
I mean I can see why she did.
@@Toneill029 ~ It was bs. She was in no danger from him...
@@Deborahtunes Yep. All because the jury was racist against the Japanese.
Looks like Janice Soprano got herself out of the mob life
If you knew sushi like I knew sushi.
Wow, nice shout out to Anita Hill's story about Clarence Thomas putting pubic hair in canned sodas
Dont they get sued by the people they wrongly attack and question?
😮 Gloves 🧤🧤🧤🧤
4:28 Janice Soprano!!
That blonde in the blue reminds me of Harley Quinn
Janice!
6:29 who is she and she's about 1.88-m
I believe that's Laura Linney - she's a veteran actress.
watch the scene - there is a two-step up from the breakfast table to the kitchen area.
Oh, come on! We all know Janice did it. She made her bones on this guy, then ten years later she whacks Richie Aprile! I know it, you know it, and Lenny Briscoe knows it! 4:44
Hey its Wendy Byrd
Oh its tonys sister
Now... I've got a few things to say about Laura Linney!
A japan person says nobody safe in NYC !
Before I saw the blonde, I remembered this episode.
Soprano's sister
LAW.... no ORDER. MEH!

Hair analysis was proven to be totally bogus. Thousands went to prison on that bullshit.
Janice Soprano
Pubic hair is not evidence for arrest, just proves sexual encounter
Except she had claimed she never went to his hotel room.
Still not a blond
Lenny picking on Clarence Thomas
She let herself get pimped out then got pissed when she got pimped out...
That is not what happened.
@@Toneill029 Rewatch the episode.
