To the subject, which is discussed here. Tenet was simply poorly executed, as Nolan only took the standard 2-3 years to develop it, just all his other movies, while he should have taken much more time, in a similar was Cameron did with Avatar. Yes, the inversed time idea of Tenet is somewhat interesting, but the execution was absolutely terrible, rushed and unrefined. A simple obvious proof of this is how bad and acoustically incomprehensible many dialogues were - with a properly refined and non-rushed film this wouldn't be the case, not even close. Exactly the same applies to the whole plot and the overall execution of the film. If you love Nolan's films in general, and I loved all his previous films too, it shouldn't mean it has to be a blind love, because he clearly screwed up with Tenet. And this is in essence pure science fiction. The characters and their interactions are secondary compared to it.

That statement pretty much sums up Nolan's approach towards film making. He cares so much about uncorrupt cinematic experience, that he doesn't want to insult the intelligence of the audience. There might be lot of other directors who may wish to do this, but it is only Nolan who can pull this off. He commands that kind of respect from both audience and movie makers.

When Nolan says 'It's a classic spy movie', you know he doesn't mean that at all :D
@Erwan Compes No. Fundamentally, this is a science fiction movie with a spy trope to give it some flavor.
@Erwan Compes Well, allow me to disagree in return. The main theme of the movie is the reversing of time, everything else is secondary. It could have been a romance, a super hero movie, a thriller, a horror movie. It wouldn't have changed the fact the fundamental notion given by the film is the possibility to reverse time. And this is in essence pure science fiction. The characters and their interactions are secondary compared to it.
@Erwan Compes I guess for you, Bladerunner for example is a detective noir movie, which is completely acceptable. And I think we will always disagree on this cause we don't use the same notions to define the genre of a movie. But it's all fine really :)

If everything starts going backward we will have to face the pandemic again..
Everyone accept that 2020 is the worst year ever.
Robert Pattinson - I don't think so.

Christopher Nolan and his obsession with TIME.
It’s actually a wonderful thing to witness him going all in as a director to tell an incredible story revolving the subject of time. Everything being practical effects makes it 100 times better since every studio always depends on CGI for making something look real. Nolan is a perfectionist & a Genius director
yes, and i bet he must be a fan of DARK.
Well said
@@justshorts9293 Great fucking show.
@@harivyas9550 Nolan is a genius director for kids, and that s how he got money to play. And ye, he is just enough good director.
Every action director and actor says their movie will require you to hold onto your seats. Tenet is the first movie I have ever seen that actually lived up to the hype. It really thoroughly amazed me!
It's so funny that everyone on the team almost feels scared of Nolan.
They don’t know who he’s going to crash into building next
one of those movies where you work just because of the director and not because of the script because you already know its dope
It's respect bro

@@nikhilb3880 No because they take a leap on faith in director's vision , I don't think cast understood the script. Michael Caine didn't know what was it all about.
Thug: the hell are you suppose to be?
Batman: that part is a little dramatic.
I see what you did there! The Batman vs TENET
We live in a twilight world.

Imagine a film with Tom Cruise directed by Nolan. Every single thing would be practical and TC would do all the stunts himself!

But the screens are just focus on him unfortunately
He has gotten a bit old now though
@@shubhamkumar5888 yes, but he still want to do every dangerous stunt himself
After watching this Video it gives me a whole new respect on Chris's commitment to deliver perfection on each scene in this movie...
Me: "time reversed object. Easy. Let's just reverse the camera shot"
Nolan: "Let's act as in reversed time"

Finally got the opportunity to see it. Been one of the most rewarding cinematic experiences ever. I was concerned that Hans Zimmer wasn't doing the soundtrack for this but Ludwig's work was incredible
Who would’ve thought while watching Twilight that Robert Patinson would reach at the level he is at today. What a comeback story!
I used to wrestle and I gotta give JDW props for his arm spin here at 1:48 very clean, throws the guy straight over his back instead of falling with him and pops him up with his hips
